AlwaysHope, my daughter, when age 15 walked into my room and laughed when she heard Kieth Green music. I told her to be quiet, and lie down and listen to it. She did. After it was over, she took out the cassette tape, and kept it. It had a HUGE impact on her life. He continues to be her favorite musician.

It was sad to hear of his death. I sat down and cried as if he was family. I had the feeling before he died that he was too good for this world..and wasn't surprised when God took Keith from us. Gratefully his music still lives on. One of the sales clerks from a nearby Christian book store said they are surprised at the continual sales of his music...still popular.

Hi JO, let me know what you think.  Actually I should have said it's about a man walking or interacting with the Trinity.  So well written but you do have to get pass the first 1/4 of the book.

Hi all fellow readers, I am off to the the library tomorrow to stock up and see what they have, in this little bitty town they still use cards and nothing is computurized.  I went in because I kept a couple of books a week overdue and said I wanted to pay my fine. (you can tell I had been living in a big city)  they looked at me like I was nuts and said oh we don't find unless its way over due like a year.  But also they don't have a huge selection.  I have made a written lists of all suggestions here. God bless you all and have a great week.

I am just now reading this thread and I am with Jo I love Bodie and Brock Thoene's books. I went to the Library looking for good romance/history novels to read and was directed to Bodie and Brock's books. I looked in the front cover to see what books they had written and started with the first set they wrote but it was chronologically last. Then after I finished all the library had I started back at the real begining and read through them all again. There is another set you didn't mention, The Shiloh Legacy series, only 3 or 4 books but start the whole set off with intrigue just after WWI and during the great depression. All the characters and families flow from the Shiloh series, through the Zion series. I haven't read any of the first light series (They aren't at the library) but I do want to read them.

Shiloh Autumn is the bridge book between the Shiloh series and the Zion covenant series. I haven't read any of the Galway Chron series. I haven't been by the library much lately but just did a search of their online catalog and they do have the first 8 books of the first light series either at the small branch in Hudson or at the main branch in Lenoir and if it is not at the branch I go to they will request it from one of the other 2 branches in the county and have it delivered to my branch. I will have to go and check them out of the library and start reading them. I do like these books because there is some history involved with the fiction.

I like reading the Mitford series by Jan Karon, she is from a small town up in the mtns of NC about 25 miles from me.

Good morning sister readers!  Its a glorious morning here and I hope it is where you are as well.  Does anyone remember Helen Steiner Rice?  I love her poetry and her words of wisdom.

So much good reading material here I don't know where to start.  I finished reading The Shack.  A very good book indeed.  Now I'm going to continue on with the Babylon Rising series and try to get that finished.  Then I'll start looking for books in these other series mentioned.

Here's praying that everyone has a peaceful and blessed day.  :)

JO, you can share anything you like on this thread.  Its not just for books even though that's the title.  Mainly, it's intended as a gathering place for fellow evangelical born again followers of Jesus Christ to fellowship together as they travel the breast cancer journey.

I don't think I can even imagine what joy, beauty, and overwhelming love there will be when we meet our Lord.  It is exciting indeed.

I am getting tired and its only 8:44 so I will say goodnight and hugs to all.

Barnes and Noble today to buy "The Shack."

I remember someone mentioning "Eat. Pray. Love." by e. gilbert a page or two back.

I took this book with me this past fall on our trip and loved the first part of it where she travels

in Italy to learn the language because she loves the sound of it and she gets the cute

young language tutor but the next part of it I just couldn't get into when it's

page after page of her learning to meditate and scrub floors, chanting and all that.

It's the first book in a long while I put down before finishing.

Then picked it up after we got home and finished it.

I enjoyed the beginning and the end.

One book I would recommend to each of you is SOUL FOOD

by jack kornfield and christina feldman.

It is incredible.  As it states.

" A banquet of wise tales from the world's greatest spiritual traditions."

Also waiting to hear from SPAR.

Happy Friday everyone.  Glad some of you have sun.  We have dark gray skies, driving rain and thunder.  Know what?  I have the Holy Spirit within and this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it - and I am!

    Be blessed.

    Beautiful words PATOO.

Also. I do love a good thunder storm.

I spent many summers as a child in Virginia and Mass.

and loved those storms that would come out of no where and the thunder shook my

grandparents house scaring us so much.

Lightening bugs to catch in jars.

Where I live, we rarely get thunder and lightening.

Maybe once a year for a short few minutes.

Yep.  This is the day the Lord made.

Blessings to you too.  Happy Friday.

I called the dr. but will have to wait until they get back with me or try to call again later.

It is a day to rejoice in.  I too love a good thunderstorm and love to sit on the porch and watch and listen to them.  They are beautiful and amazing in their own way.

    hugs to all.  back later.
