Just peeking in...
Sharon thanks for the back up, I'm gonna need it in this fight. Just had the strongest urge to go look at yard sales......
Yesterday I went to Walmarts and bought a couple of oval sea sponges that had one side that was smooth. My breast forms have been feeling pretty uncomfortable lately so I thought I'd try to manufacture my own lighter boobs. Anyway I took a pair of scissors and shaped them the way I wanted and wore those all day. I even had hubby give me a hug to see if they felt natural. He just laughed and said I was now a real life Sponge Boob Square Pants.
Gotta love that sense of humor.
Okay back to the battle at hand.....I'm feeling kind of on the short end of the stick right now.
-
Oh Mom- I want to go to the yard sales with you!
Didnt get a chance to go to many last summer.
They wont start here for another 5 weeks.
Pam
-
Mom2two - now you're talking!
-
Oil change for me today. That will totally exhaust me.....I'm going to try to smooth talk the guy into attaching something that came loose underneath. My DH doesn't think I can "make" him do it, but I'll let yah know. It was from when we were driving up the highway and someones LAWN CHAIR (the long, lounge kind) came whipping off the back of their pick-up and bounced down the road towards us. We had no choice but to go over it as we were going 120 kms an hour! Cost the dude $1,800 for the assessment to the damage for our car but we paid our mortgage that month instead. Sigh.....yah gotta do what yah gotta do.
-
I emptied the dishwasher!! Yeah!! I'm going out tonight with friends and if I didn't the boy would have no idea what to do with their dishes from dinner. I just put a load of whites in. I'm on a roll!!
-
Okay I've been thinking about that yard sale thing, civic duty...all that stuff. Lately it seems the only one getting bailed out of this economic mess are the banks who seem to charge those horrible interest rates that keep all the everyday people so economically challenged in the first place. So whose helping the everyday guy? Whose bailing him or her out. So I feel like its my civic responsibility to help .... now how could I help I think to myself....but of course I could go to all those needy yard sales that are crying out for my economic support
Surely hubby will understand my need to help my fellow countrymen?
Pam you could help the airline industry by jumping on the next flight here to join me in my fight against this economic recession.
Anyone else want to join the economic summit for today? I mean duty calls doesn't it, shouldn't we hold off the cleaning just till we get the country straightened out a bit???
-
I'll come - and don't forget - you are keeping stuff out of a landfill - so not only are you helping the economic your are helping the ecology! OMG, we are downright noble!
-
And don't forget you have to take the items for sale out of your house, which is cleaning!!
-
Good morning ladies!!! OK.....I am IMPRESSED! I knew there were some fine ladies on this thread, but REALLY.....all that you do for the economy and others!!! Well, it just tears me up
I can't believe you would skip a day of housecleaning just to go help your neighbor through rough times. BLESS YOUR HEARTS!!!
My hat is off to each of you!!!
Hey Dream!!!!!!!! You are more than welcome here. Hey....you turned on your computer didn't you??!!! Well.....that's all that's required to be part of this group. As a matter of fact, if you turn on your computer more than once a day, you might could even "bank" one of those!!
((((((((((hugs for everybody)))))))))) Thank you for your concern over my fluid situation:)
Candie....I did eat some cheetos the other day (more than I should have), but I don't think that caused it. I see my oncologist in April so I'm gonna ask him about it. It's mostly my hands and feet and I do see alot of people that have trouble with hands and feet on Arimidex. If you'll notice in my profile line I've got my last Arimidex pill on 4/30/13........how's that for a count down??
Oh....I posted this on the cute thread, but I wanted to post it again. I remember somebody saying they liked Pepsi.....or their CAT liked Pepsi??
-
Just wanted to add a touch of Spring for you ladies who are still having cold weather.
My flowers are starting to bloom.....oh, and I need to "bank" some more chores because
I have worked in the yard a little this week. I'll try to get pics of the ROOTS that I've had to
dig up after I chopped a bush down that's been here for 20+ years. The bush wasn't that big
but that baby had some deep roots!!! Whew.....I probably earned several months "banking" on
that project
-
Thanks Coonie - Just what I needed. It's warmer here now, upper 40's and 50'f over the weekend. Everything is still brown and dead. I do think we've turned the corner though!
I just bought yellow rose bushes to plant. I need to wait a few more weeks though. Still below freezing at night.
-
Beautiful flowers Coonie. We've got 22 degrees this morning in Omaha. BRRR!!!
-
Oh Coonie, your garden is lovely. Ours is still..........asleep.
Well, my laundry is out on the line. Hanging it outside instead of using the dryer.........is that 2 jobs?
I love the way they have clotheslines down east.............and dried by the ocean breeze.
-
Well, I am out of bed. Did not get the linen closet done yesterday so will try again today. I did get the laundry done yesterday and the bed changed.
I feel pissed at the world today and need to take it out on something.
-
Ohhh Pinky....sorry you're feeling yucky today. Just go outside and scream to the top of your lungs:) You might scare the neighbors to death, but it might make you feel better
-
3 loads of laundry done, hung, folded and put away. Also got a letter written that I had put off - to be sent via real postal mail instead of email. Whew. I am going to stimulate the economy tonight by going to Bingo and getting Chinese take out.
Do I get extra points for helping an old lady friend who does not have a computer? Long story, but I found her a phone # to call for shoes she wants to order. The website said ONLY online orders, but we convinced them to allow her to do it via that old fashioned thing called the telephone...
-
Martha Stewart doesn't live here
and it is a " good thing"
-
hehee Lisa....that's a good one
We could sure use some of your beautiful pics on here though:)
-
Hey Nancy....I think you get LOTS of extra points for helping an "old lady"
That's really sweet and I know she appreciates it too!
-
I'm going for that walk! Really..........just gotta get........inspired. Housework/walk. What'll it be?
Guess which one wins out?
or.......
-
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. I so jealous for flowers! We still have that huge pile of snow in the middle of our court. It is smaller in diameter but only down to about 7 feet. The snow is almost gone from the edge of one side of the driveway where it's hanging on. Gorgeous day though, but I feel punky too.....
-
ooooooo, I DID get the guy to attach that flopping under-body car part! I also got him to put in an air cleaner that I bought somewhere else! Hehehehe, I played dumb and said I thought I had to bring my own. (They charge way too much).
I am DONE until just before my DH comes home and then I'll whip the dishes into the dishwasher...
-
Just remembered why I'm feeling SO punky. Felt weird in a store trying on clothes (I had no intention of buying). Began to sweat and feel dizzy so I left. When I got in the car the song on the radio was the one my husband and I had picked to play at my funeral!!!!
Do do do do...
-
(((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) Barbe and Pinky, you both sound like you need some yard sale therapy. I'm tella ya it works wonders. Just got back...any of you with the tv on notice a huge jump in the stock market yet?????? Its coming I tell ya, I've been out there doing my part. Please no one call me for a while I'm waiting for the White House to be giving me a ring any moment now thanking me for my contribution to the economy.......
Pam you wouldn't believe the tons of material this person had. It was the yard sale of the year. A man had a wife who had racked up some $90,000 on her credit cards (talk about economic sitmulus plan) and she had her house filled to the brim! Well her family talked her into getting rid of most of her stuff and they sold it to this guy for one bulk sum. He loads it up and brings it to his house and their are boxes and bags just filled. He let us just roam through half of it. Unbelievable how much that woman had accumulated. I found some neat stuff but tried to remember I wanted hubby home more than I wanted him at work so contained myself...... Now that should count for some work???
-
Mom, how can I thank you for turning the ecomomy around?
Here is a small token of my appreciation.
No way can you do housework wearing that beauty
The yard sale sounds like a blast. I can't wait till they start here because we just moved here last fall so it'll all be new territory.
-
