I take a water pill every day with my blood pressure meds and I rarely pee! That's not fair, but of course I am very happy for you. Once I had to collect my urine for 24 hours in a jug and then take it to the lab, holy cow was it heavy! If that's what you void in 24 hours I can see why some diets brag about quick weight loss!
-
Coonie, I would call the doctor tomorrow anyway and let them know what happened. That's amazing! Are you on Tamox or any other meds? I would feel much better if you ran that by your doctor. I wish I could take a pil and lose 4.5 pounds!! The Tamox has made me gain 12!!
Please call! Let us know what they say.
-
Coonie, with your water weight have you noticed any trouble breathing? After chemo did you ever have an echo or muga scan on your heart to detect and heart failure caused by the chemo? i ask because chemo can cause heart failure and heart failure can cause fluid retention. OR.. it could be something simple such as not drinking enough water. strange but true...not drinking enough can cause some ppl to retain fluids. I would definitely talk to your doctor about this.
-
Well, I'm on arimidex and have gained about 15 lbs since my ooph/mastectomy. Arimidex has caused all kinds of aches and pains, so it may be causing this fluid junk too. I'll see how I feel tomorrow, or hey......I may take another one and lose 4 more lbs and then 4 more the next night. That would be great if I could lose all my weight in a few days!!! Whew!!
-
I agree it would be cool if it worked that way, but something tells me there's more to the story. Please check with your doctor!! If he/she says it's normal, then go for it!
-
Yeah Cali I had about 3 or 4 mugas. They did go down after the 2nd treatment, but went back up on the next test. I finished Herceptin in January and haven't had a muga since probably September, 08. I see my onc next month and may ask him about that. In the mean time, I'm gonna try drinking more water. Thanks ya'll!!!
-
Us clean? Why Princesses never have to clean do they?
-
That's what I'm talking about
-
-
I'm getting tired ladies. Enough cleaning for today.
Try and get some rest. I hope everyone is doing well!!

Hi all,
easy visit- all blood work is looking good, no sign of primary mass on physical exam, my back is not bothering me too much, just an injection of Lupron today
and I don't have to see onc next month- just blood work and injection !! A little more tired than most nights but also took dd and friend to shop for trip to Ireland next week (them, not me). Usually try to hang low for rest of the day and next.
On weigh in, lost a few more pounds
. Wish I knew what I was doing, but won't argue. At highest was 190 something, today was 161, much closer to good weight for me...feeling more comfortable physically w/o so much extra weight. I'm hoping that will help with the high blood pressure (see dr next week for check, maybe less meds ?). Also got names for rheumatologist (sp ?) so maybe some of the joint issues can be addressed and I won't be so stiff all the time. Onc gave me names of some who get the cancer/meds/joint connection...I can only hope.
Any way, hope all are well. I believe bribes work if offered in chocolate,.
Sweet dreams all...Elaine

Coonie, have you been eating alot of salt lately? I take arimidex but I don not have water retention.Perhaps you should make a call to your Dr. just to be sure. Do you take blood pressure meds?
Well, I didnt do any cleaning tonight. After work I did a lil food shopping, went to a meeting at church and then had cousins over for cake and coffee. I did clean up the kitchen after that. Does that count?
Nighty night,all.

I really enjoyed reading your posts. I am not a candidate for this thread tho. Over the last 3 yrs I have been doing less and less ..... I do dishes once or twice a week. Otherwise I would have to count putting my clothes away and showering. Tomorrow a woman is coming to interview me for a free housekeeper. My 19 yr old does the laundry once a week. But the bathroom is ghastly... especially the throne. The floors have not been done since 2000 bc... I have the dust and cat hair to prove it. I am not supposed to do ANY housework. HMMMMMMM. Does making Thank You cards count? See I dont do anything that would make me fit in here. Oh I forgot, I have taken to stuffing things away - under my hospital bed, which cannot be lowered to the lowest setting! I AM SO BAD!!!!!!!
-
Dream, everyone qualifies to be here! One Thank You card is ONE thing. That's all you have to do each day. One thing. If you do more you get a halo...
You'll notice Candie didn't think she had done anything until she started to list it. She did more than me today! You'd be surprised at how much you can keep up when you are accountable to us. Pretty pictures posted count as well...
-
EWB Good for you!!
dream - you definitely qualify - I second the motion! We don't have very high goals here, just helping each other through each day.
Barbe - I sure hope you are in a different time zone than me. Do you ever sleep? OK - I know most of us have a difficult time sleeping, but at least I lay there and pretend!
Off to make the kids lunch and get them on the bus.
-
Good morning Houseworkers. We are having company for supper tonight so I have to actually DO something today other than cook supper.
It's sunny out so it will be hard to stay inside. Is walking the dog considered one job? When he's out of the house he's not shedding on the floor. Isn't that sort of "cleaning"?
-
TGIF, Good Morning everyone. One load is in the dryer, left over from last night. Another in the washer. Coffee cup is full and I am looking at cloudy skies and 60 degrees is forecast.
I finally called the Salvation Army to get these book cases, lamps and tv, but they will not take the book cases because they are not genuine, real wood and the TV is not a flat screen !!!!!!!! Since I am in an apartment, I can't use the Free - give it away site -- by putting outside the door. If I put a notice up on the bulletin board, maybe someone can use them. I don't know any other charities around that might come and get them.
Anyone have a good flowering plant I can put on my patio slab. There is lots of sun and it gets HOT, sometimes up to 100 degrees. They would have to be in a window box or pots and I would like multi bloomers - maybe petunias? When I had the house it was very shady under oak trees, so I used hosta, impatiens and coleus for color. I may not do anything for a while, BUT I am "thinking" about it... LOL.
Of course walking the dog is considered one job, sharon. I don't have one, so if I walk my Imaginary dog, I am gonna count it. Have a super duper day. HUGS, Nancy
-
Nancy - Check out freecycle.com. Not sure if that's the free site you are talking about but I've used it many times to get rid of things. BTW, I could use the book case for my sons room. I'm not picky!
Just cleaned up after breakfast and will not go to train station and bus stop. Then on to a shower.
Oh - just loaded the dishwasher!!
-
Dreamwriter- Yes, You are welcome. And like Barbe Said a Thank You Card counts.
I know I wont get much done today. Have an appt with my PS. Dh is going with & is off all day.. So that really messes me up for housework- Good excuse at least. We will run some errands. Gotta go to the bank is one of them.
Didnt we say Banking counted? LOL
Sharon I think Walking the Dog Counts.
Have a Nice day everyone!
Pam
-
Of Course you belong here Dream! Here's a big welcome just for you.
-
Banking should count. And if not maybe you can "bank" it. Hahahaha
-
I have a load of laundry in..............job one is in the works.
If my laundry room looked like this I'd do laundry all day.
-
Ok I'm going in! I'm ready to take on this mess. Anyone with me?
-
Ok ladies....I'm up and out of bed. That counts as ONE!! Put that in my bank, please. I made myself a cup of tea...that's TWO!! I am actually going to do laundry and get it all folded and put in my room(maybe I'll actually put it away too??). I'm not feeling all that motivated since i'm still tired from kicking ass yesterday at the hospital. I had 5 patients....2 were total care. all were fall risks. grrr. busy busy..run run run.
I am so glad you're all here...I feel like we're friends and that if we really did get together it would really be a hoot. I'll have to settle for gossiping and chatting online.
Are any of you in the Wichita or Kansas City area? My son is in Wichita today for school and they'll be getting on a charter bus sometime after noon for the drive back home to Omaha. I'm concerned that they're going to get stuck in the blizzard. Does worry count?? Can I bank it?
Stacy
-
LOL- Mom...No- Im still not prepared for the Mess.
Sharon...That is a great Laundry room...I can barely move in my Laundry room...It has alot of Fabric stored in there
Pam
-
Mom, I'm coming in too. I'll back you up.
-
Ok - I took a load out of the dryer and put a new one in. Walking the dog definitely counts - otherwise you would have an even bigger mess to contend with - that's called preventive house cleaning!
Every morning I have to scoop the kitty litter box - that counts as 1. I have to go to the post office to pick up a package - its a chore and therefore counts!
My podiatrist told me to stay off my injured foot so that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!
Mom2two - that was hilarious and all of them are too true.
-
Hahaha, my laundry room is a closet.
-
One of my aunts (who is very organized) used one room in her house for any overflow. She would say - time to go in and tackle that room - the mess is crawling out the door!
