Pancakes- yummy, but I'll pass and eat a nice big wonderful(NOT) bowl of oatmeal.  I have done dishes (not put away yet) made the bed OF COARSE, washed and hung a load of laundry, and have been out several times with Margo. Sharon the picture you posted of the cat looks almost identical to my Roxie.

Linda having Margo is great, but I can't believe how much it is like having a newborn baby in the house, I'll be honest I am exhausted and sleep deprived. Last night was a very sleepless night, of coarse now she is napping like a baby and I must be up doing things,

So Barbe I have done my one thing x3 - so I am covered for the next few days. LOL

You mean to say we can actually 'bank' jobs if we do more than one per day.  I think I like this plan.

I got my arm massaged and my sleeve on.  Time to rest.

OMG, that is what YOU call handsome???    The maintenance supervisor was just here and finally agreed to order new windows for my second bedroom.  It is at least 15 degrees colder in there due to defective, drafty windows, which I complained about in November 2007, over a year ago.

I took things into my own hands and put up styrofoam insulating sheets and plastic but it is still cold in that room.   I have a 2 bedroom apartment and that one was my "office" with file cabinet, work table, desk, computer  and book cases.  Last October I had my desk moved OUT of there and into the corner of my living room so I did not have to wear a winter coat and hat.

I am thinking a good cleaning of that room will be needed when they finish putting in new windows.   And moving the desk and computer back in.    I promise not to get too far ahead of myself, ok?   LOL !!!!

The Oatmeal looks very good too!   I actually havent had pancakes in about 1 year & have oatmeal several times a week.  Not the healthy stuff yet- I do need to switch.

    Coonie- Very Funny.

Sharon, you can't "bank" chores, those ladies were just being silly.

But, on the other hand, getting your sleeve on would count for one thing. You are done! If you do anything else today you are a saint. We have had incidences of sainthood around here lately. I think the Spring air is scaring us into what will happen to all the dust bunnies when we open the windows again!

Morning Ladies!  Hubby offered to do the laundry this weekend (yippeeeeeeeeeeee!) so I'm turning it over to him. That in itself has chirked me up into getting some of the other things done. Just looking at that laundry pile the last couple of days was zapping me of any energy I might of had.

Went to McDonalds this morning to get a cup of their hot french vanilla cappuccino for my mom. She loves it and so do I but I can't handle the caffeine in coffee so I only get to taste a sip or two of hers. Anyway it turns out they have discontinued it. Why do places do that? They have a great product then poof its gone.  They said alot of people were complaining about it too. I even asked for the manager and asked him to get it back.Cry It was so yummy too.....

My 8 yr old has her birthday April 3rd and she wants it to be a pajama party. So we are inviiting a pack of her girlfriends from school and having a daytime "slumber party".  I love doing birthday parties! Think I'm going to make or buy little cakes for each of them to decorate for themselves. Also bought some nail decorations and polish for some girlie time for them. Then found some little aprons at the dollar store that I will let them write their name on with fabric paint for a craft project. If anyone of you have any other ideas let me know.

Take tons of pictures and IF a digital camera, print out while the girls are there to take home.   You can get a packet of photo paper at Staples for a pretty reasonable price.   BUT, make sure you have an extra ink cartridge for the printer...    Hint:  print out ONE picture, then "copy" the next if you want duplicates.  Not as good as the photo paper, but for "kids"... you know...

If the weather is good, how about bubbles outside?  It is sooooo long since I have been a part of a young uns birthday party.  Used to be the "surrogate aunt" for the 8 years before my husband and I had our only child.

Great idea about the pictures Nancy although I've never printed pics from the computer before. Is it very hard to do?

We are doing the bubble thing too. I bought some great nets at the dollar store and a large bottle of bubble solution so the girls can have fun running around and catching the bubbles. I bought one of those battery operated bubble makers for about $5 so I wouldn't have to wear myself out blowing the bubblesTongue out Just hope the weather is good for next Friday.

to print pictures, you set the size, the quality of paper and color.   To check, print out on regular paper.  These settings should be when you click "print" or Print set up.   You can also make them 50% size if they are big.   Or have someone run over to Walmart and get a set of prints and then copy on your printer on regular paper.   You can then get 2-3 per print out.   >> Hint hint,  run and get copies is something the "men folk" can do to keep out of your hair.

I don't know if they are still around (check Party City) but I use to get disposible cameras (one for each girl) that had borders on the pictures. Could get in different themes like x mas, birthdays, etc. Just be sure to mark each one with their name.

I did some ironing and more laundry.  Swept the kitchen too.

Barbe, I think we can bank things.  Sounds fair to me.  Don't want to scare anyone away.  Sometimes I think logging on to the computer is enough for one day!

Im glad logging onto the PC can be enough for 1 day...I have done nothing today.  I ran to Walgreens & Target.  Got just a few things- Not like a Real Grocery trip (work)

I guess I will get to some laundry.

I need Easy Dinner Ideas Makraz...We should start an easy Dinner Idea thread.  I know dh would be happy if I made a few Meals a week.   Even 1 would be good :o

    Here is the easiest recipe:

    one can of stewed tomatoes

    one can of baked beans

2 or 3 sliced green onions (I just use the white part)

fried sausage meat, ground beef or ground chicken, or no meat at all

muck it all together while heating in a pot

Add a crusty roll and/or a salad and voila.

Edit to add: for real gourmet add grated cheese and chopped parsley just before serving

Yes, I think you are right scallions.

    Sounds Nice & easy Sharon.

I am the only one in the house that will eat beans- although Im sure Deja would too- that could be a bad thing- she sleeps in our bedroom. Surprised

    Pam

    Green onions are scallions.  yummy.

I like the idea of a dinner thread.  Must be kid friendly for me.  I just defatted and breaded chicken breast for tonight.  CUt up all the veggies and threw a salad together.  I always do this before the kids get home.  Once they are home, they want me to do things with them, or I turn into Ma's Taxi.  This makes it easier so when dinner time comes, I just throw it in the oven.

Also, crock pot are great to us!

Going to fold another load and then clean the kitchen.

yup, scallions to those of us in the NJ region. Big difference from a "regular" onion. I can just see it, making the recipe w/ 2-3 chopped onions...wouldn't think twice about it since I really like onion but think family might have different idea about that.

love the idea of crock pots but having problems figuring it out. Maybe a different routine/timing that I need to figure out.

Its always something. Suppose I should take shower and get ready for appointment w/onc and treatment.

    Hi all,

I needed a break from being with my little one this morning and trying to make home made chicken soup. I put my little one in the high chair so that he wouldn't attempt to touch my hot pot of soup while I chopped up carrots and garlic.  Well, since he likes to eat I kept giving him different food but stopped after he took the bowl of dried Special K with berries which he crunched up with his little fingers into crumbs and threw the whole bowel across the kitchen.  I almost cried after that indicent Cry ; there was tiny crushed up Special K everywhere: on the floor and in between the cracks of the hardwood, in the hallway by the kitchen, on the trim, window sills, in the dogs crate and under it, on the counters, on the island and under it, under the stove,  the crumbs were everywhere Yell!    My ktichen looked like it went through a sand storm.  I had to take the vacuum out atleast 4 separate times (I stopped counting after the 3rd time!) because I kept hearing crunching under feet everytime I put it way.  I feel like I ran a marathon Surprised.  Well I guess I did enough cleaning for the day so off I go to do some homework.  Wow, I feel better after sharing that, it makes me feel like I actually acomplished something.

I love the pics, keep them coming and the cleaning instructions too, I love this thread Laughing. Happy cleaning.

    Cathi

I was up a 1:00 with Harvey and new I wouldn't be able to get back to sleep. It was after midnight so that counts for my one thing for the day. I may try the laundry. Does everyone notice how much laundry we do? I was thinking about just having a 2 week supply of clothes and getting rid of all the rest. My dh will change his clothes 3 times a day worst than a 2 year old

    Liz,

I used to hate cereal because my kids did the same thing.  There favorite was rice Krispies.  I swear they turn into cement after 20 minutes.  I would find them STUCK to everything!  When I was reading your post, I thought, "at least she has a dog".  Can your dog help clean up???

Sometimes it's feels good to just cry and move on!

Hope you day gets better.  It's tough with little ones!

Anyone looking after kids deserves to have someone come in to clean at least once a week.  Couldn't they make it a law?Wink

Edit to add the cleaning help.  Here you go ladies.

    Makraz-

You're right Rice Krispies is like cement and the crushed up Special K felt like sand, yuk!  I forgot to mention, when I took the vacuum hose to vacuum my little one's tray on his high chair while he was still in it, he absolutely loved it and kept laughing hysterically while I was doing it.  I hope this won't encourage him to try that again.  I'm glad that it's finally cleaned up and dinner is made too.  I probably should mop the floor to be sure Foot in mouth.... may be tomorrow. I had enough Frown.

Sharon-  I  really like your idea Kiss

I was thinking that too Liz- Where was your Dog in all of this.

Deja says she will come & clean up every spec!!   And I am not kidding.  She has a Nose & Brain for Food.  Thats all she thinks about.

EWB- We call them Scallions here in the Midwest too.  Yes, that would be alot of Onion if you used real ones!

I can cook Pasta to use instead of Beans : )

    Time to switch the Laundry.

You know Cathi- Most the laundry I do is not mine...And The kids do alot of their own.  Dh wears alot of clothes.  I wear the same thing of & on all week  :o

I also wear my jeans several times before I wash them.

Oh Liz I'm so sorry but that is so funny! Everytime you named another place the cereal went I could just picture you spinning around in distress seeing it all....hehehehehehe

Reminds of the time my son put an Oreo cookie in my washer/spin-dryer. Remember those ladies? You had to roll the unit to your sink and fill it up yourself with the attached hose, then put the clothes into the little spinner and hang out to dry. Wow, I'm old. Anyway, the Oreo broke immediately into a brown paste and went into every groove, crack, button, zipper and thread of every piece of clothing in the washer. And then, I had to clean out the washer! To this very day, (he turned 28 last Monday) I can see him on tippy-toes reaching up to the lip of the washer and then very gently, oh so gently, dropping his Oreo into the water! I never fed them cookies. To them cookies were crackers so someone must have treated us with a box. He obviously didn't like them!
