The red gingham seersucker dress from NorthStyle just arrived.  Looking cute.  I tried it on and it fits reasonably well, but I know how to alter it to make it perfect.  Not really too much work.  I think it will be very flattering.

I am bummed, though, that, since it has a low V-neck, I will have to take it up at the shoulder seam to raise the neckline.  You can see the hollow above my foob and almost see daylight out the other side at the armhole.  This is making me crazy.  So many of the fashions now have low necklines.  I am trying to get my ps to DO SOMETHING about this but it is slow going and I am feeling quite frustrated about it.  The little implant I had put in under the flap to even out the size difference, which is really not fixed, either, makes it even worse.  I don't know what to do but that is another topic entirely.

Anyway, the dress will be just PERFECT for those hot, summer days.  I love it.  I may even leave it the current length (mid-calf) but won't know until I try it on with proper shoes.

Hey, Beth, I say, we might as well think big.  Great ideas.  And we could soooo do this.  Also would give me an opportunity to be silly on the video, if I were the one demonstrating the exercises, get people to laugh a little.  One of my specialities as a PT. 

I do a talk on osteoporosis every October for this women's health day at the local hospital.  The last one happened to occur the week I finished rads.  So, I decided I would also talk a bit about breast cancer treatment and bone healt, and I told everyone I was going through treatment myself, and I whipped out my prosthesis to enthusiastic applause and laughs, waved it in the air, and laughed about how much I enjoyed the fact that my insurance had to pay for it.  Now I want to expand it into a talk on the 4 B's:  boobs, bones, backs & bladders.  You know, maybe do a real road show!!

LOL, Raye.  I can totally relate to the low-neckline layers!  Nothing like having MORE hot flashes...

Tina, I don't know about a dickey, but I have lace camisole bras in 3 colors, go to JCPenney website and there is a Jodee  mastectomy bra section that sells them, very pretty and I wear them under most anything that shows cleavage (I am old and wrinkled cleavage is not cool, believe me!). Just a suggestion  ☺

Tina, my sister gave me a couple of Nancy Gantz body slimmer camisoles that are stretch lace with cup shape pre-formed to prevent from squeezing the shape out. I think she got them at Target. I also have seen some knit camisoles at Fashion Bug with lace inset at the neckline.

Beth - we are of one mind today apparently. I was going to advise Tina to go white in the wedge shoes. Now a bright color to go with the deep red, I am at a loss. Initially, I thought navy, but that is obviously not bright. How about another blue (which is really in this summer BTW), or maybe an orange? I like dark colors and am not good with brights. I would wear the dark red dress with some funky, but not necessarily bright necklace(s).

I too, love seamless bras and wear a cami under low necked tops and dresses. Typically not a lace cami, just a stretchy one, which invariably ends up being very hot in the summer. Jessica Rabbit, maybe you are on to something here - perhaps a dicky that's not lacy or a choice of both??

Can't wait to hear about the shoes, Beth -  and more importantly, the job offer on Friday! WHOO HOO.  

Okay, we don't want to wear a cami because it's too hot.  That is the "why" of the dickie-thing.  It should just cover where you need it, not be another layer.  Comprenez?  I really need to go online fabric shopping.  It's so hard to tell quality online but there are next to no fabric stores left anymore.  A few quilting shops, but no apparel fabric shops.  A colleague who owns a sewing center says that young girls are really getting into sewing, thanks to shows like Project Runway, but I don't know.

Raye, you have put me in a thinking about color mode.  Maybe using shades from the red through orange would do the trick.  I love the effect of using adjacent colors together in a room or in clothes.  A bright blue would also make a nice accent if I used it in at least two ways.

A shrug sounds perfect for cooler weather, barbe!

Tina, I just wear the cami's without bras. The Nancy Gantz slimmers don't seem to add bulk because it is all lace, not knit.

It is a fabric store about 45 minutes from my house and it literally has anything you would want. There are people who travel farther than we do to shop there. My sister goes there to get her fabrics for prom and bridal gowns. The ladies in the quilt guild I belong to go there to get their quilt fabrics. I think you can call and get assistance over the phone on what you are looking for. Last summer the Mall it was in was undergoing major reconstruction (tore down 3/4 of the building but left Mary Jo's intact and built a temporary entrance while the construction was going on.

Oh, that Trulife Bra is very pretty and it does have the right kind of cups.  How much is it?  Since it's a mast bra, I'll bet it's pretty pricey.  The lace insert you mention is what I had in mind, though, except I was thinking it was something that could be removable to use with different bras.  I tend to buy multiples of the same bra when I find one that fits well and I'd like to not be limited to using the same one all the time.  Laundry issues and all that. LOL

I'm thinking this insert/dickie would be something ANY woman could use with today's fashions.  Maybe make up a pattern with instructions and supply list, etc. rather than manufacture them.  That would put it in reach of more women.  Just have to figure it all out.
