Stymied by Arimidex - suggestions?

Hello all - I sailed through mastectomy, no pain. Though chemo - yukky but not that bad. Rads - piece of cake. Happy & mellow throughout, mostly due I think to great support from DH and sheer thankfulness to be alive. but now, 2 months into arimidex, I'm a cranky b...h. I know, estrogen dropping means mood swings, but this is affecting our relationship, which was so sweet. I'm no fun, I'm impatient, I'm critical & act like a speed-freak. But also afraid of stopping arimidex. I'm starting an exercise program, which i think will help.

any suggestions how to handle se's? I have access to a good homeopathist, know I can try acupuncture - but anything else? found anything effective?

Much appreciate your ideas.

    Souad,

I appreciate your dilema and am with you.  I don't have an answer, unfortunately.  I have decided that I will continue arimidex until I can lose weight, as I am concerned about the estrogen that fat produces.  I need to drop 70 pounds, so it may be a while before I get there, but I'm giving it my full attention until it happens.

Hopefully some of the more experienced ladies here will have some answers that will help both of us.

    Best of luck to you!

    Hello ladies,

I am on Arimidex and don't seem to have those problems. It may be because I take an antidepressant (for depression not menopause). I've heard it said that some antidepressants can ease menopausal symptoms. And who knows? You may even actually be depressed. If anything can do it to you, it's BC.
