I've heard that cinnamon is wonderful for us and try to sprinkle a healthy amount on my toast with a little butter often BUT in my newest Prevention magazine read that 1 teaspoon of cinnamon has as many antioxidants as 1/2 cup of blueberries.  Wow!  I now leave my cinnamon on the counter so I don't forget to eat it daily.  You can put it in or on a lot of things.

I read a neat suggestion from someone here at breastcancer.org about butter and cinnamon on sweet potatoes.  Sounds like a great healthy snack to me.

Get sprinklin' ladies.

I take a cinnamon supplement every day, especially if I cheat and eat something with any sugar as it balances insulin levels. I also try to use it a lot more in foods. Try it in chili, or anything spicey. It is great!

Thanks for the info. Mary Jo ( my middle name is Jo, too). I put cinnamon in my oatmeal and my cocoa. Plus, I read a hint on this site that I tried and like. It was that many people don't really like the taste of green tea, even though it may help fight breast cancer. The hint was to put some cinnamon in it. I am drinking some now. I like it.

I also use cinnamon. Mostly on oatmeal, but I also sprinkle it in coffee for a 'viennese' cafe.  You can add some to the ground coffee when brewing too.

It also tastes good with bananas and apples and blueberries which I use in my oatmeal. Add to pancake batter, french toast egg mix, sprinkle on waffles. I make lots of fruit based desserts for my family (baked apples) that use cinnamon.

I have a chicken recipe that uses cinnamon.I'll find it and post in the next couple of days.
