After 5 years of Tamoxifen - Periods?
Hi, I was diagnosed at age 25 with breast cancer 5 years ago when I was 30 weeks pregnant with my daughter. After 2 surgeries, she was born healthy and I was starting Chemo after being discharged from the hospital after giving birth less than a week later. So Chemo, radiation, a couple of blood transfusions from the hemorraging that occured because my uterus didn't close properly due to the Chemo - I started this Tamoxifen. I didn't have my period for a long time, couple years I think - then I started to get it in 3 month intervals, then month, then 9 month, and then at a year, I was back to regular monthly periods. Until now...I have completed my 5 years of Tamoxifen in January - and I have had my period every 2 weeks since I stopped taking it.
Is this common? Has anyone else experienced this? And also - I swear I now suffer from PMDD since I stopped taking it as well. I have never been this emotional in my life, I want to eat constantly, and I always feel bloated and miserable. Any suggestions out there?

I should have probably mentioned that I was 25 when I was diagnosed...doctors said I should be all A-OK with the periods and able to have more children if I wanted to. And that going menapausal probably would not happen...

I just turned 49 in January and completed my 5 years of Tamoxifen in August of 08. Was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 02 and had one breast removed. Only had 4 rounds of Chemo, and life wasn't too bad. Bounced back, periods were getting less and less, other than some weight gain (which I could use) and little fatigue, went thru hot flashes for awhile, started taking Black Cohash and it really helped. I was suposed to be menopausal, didn't have any periods for l year and half, but now I started with a period on February 17th very heavy clotting than light, thought it would end. It stoped for two days (while my doc did and ultra sound and biopsy, everything fine) my period came back again heavy clotting for two more days, then light. I final went about aweek with out a period, but again on March16th another period!! Very heavy, clotting for two days and I'm still spotting. I go back to doc's tomorrow, but this is very frustrating, was feeling great, exercising, my head feels like the chemo fog and fatigue has lifted, but I've been bleeding on and off for 4 weeks out of 5!!! Is this normal, I rather stay on the tamoxifen, then go thru this. I can't function.
