Slonedeb. I am moved to tears on your behalf as I sit here reading the amazing words written in the posts above by your sisters in this journey.

I know you must be warmed by the pouring out of faith-filled people, on behalf of your story -- your journey. You have taught us so much about weathering the storms.

We are so concerned for this portion of your story. Know that we want the very best for you. I'd love for heaven to be patient in opening it's doors to you, because I think you have more that you could teach. But when you're ready...... fly straight to heaven to be greeted by your loving family and our dear angel BC sisters.

Rest easily, for we will watch over you with our thoughts and prayers. Wishing you strength and rest. Good and proud servant, you have served well. Rest easily, now.

    Welcome to all new SloneRangers.

If you ever doubt the ability of circle of woman to support one another, just go back thru a couple of pages of this thread.

Slonedeb has been up and down, back and forth, in and out of the hospital and all the while supported by her Rangers -- and all the while sharing her faith with us, in her fears she has expressed conviction and trust.

It is a very moving thread susie and we are very grateful that you've enlarged our circle.

Tonight I wish for comfort for your whole family Slonedeb. I wish you trust and calm.

May Deb feel the warmth and love all offer her here and at home. May she understand her faith has been strong throughout and her dignity in illness always present. May she let us carry her water to quench any anxiety or fear, to nourish her faith in the Almighty, to be not afraid.

Our circle feels the presence of your night-dreams, Deb. May you feel our support, our buoying of you and yours. We're here with you now, merging our dreams with your dreams to result in one, together forever, through jointness, we have won.

Well I must not have put enough tinder on the fire last night, Deb, as I didn't sleep a deep sleep. So I'll attend to it now, and rest my soul some.

It's a beautiful day here with birds singing, blue sky, and sun. I picked an individual small flower pedal from my side garden, a ...goodness can't recall the name, but they are one of the most beautifully odorous spring flowers in purples and whites , etc. I even loved them as a kid. So it's here with me and I just take a breath of it now and then to smile and reflect. I am sending some of it's loveliness to you right now.

Sunday prayers deb for you and kbug and all our warriors here.

Slonedeb. I went on a walk after going to church this morning and I just kept repeating a refrain of one of the hymns that was sung:

"Blessed be the name of the Lord. Blessed be His Holy Name.

Blessed be the name of the Lord."

This is contemporary service with drumset and guitars. It was so uplifting. I kept thinking of you listening to your favorite artists. I hope that you are lifted up by music today.

Rest well. Rest easily. Rest deeply.

We will keep watch over your resting. We will continue to hold you up in prayer.

Hello my friends.  I just got off the phone with slonedeb.  She just got back home from yet another hospital stay for pneumonia.  She says the pneumonia is getting better, but she is struggling to breathe and she says they are not keeping her pain under control.  She is so very weak.  She asked about all of you and I told her we are all doing pretty good other than being worried about her.  She said there is nothing we can do for her but pray and I assured her we were already praying.  She is riding her storm......

~~Let's breathe for our Deb from Kentucky~~

While prayer is a profound mystery and often feels like hard work, I'd like to suggest that our prayer lives can be enriched (and unburdened) by comparing it to breathing. In fact, this analogy has been suggested for centuries by our brothers in the Greek and Russian Orthodox churches in a prayer exercise known simply as "Breath Prayer." It derives this name because the words for breath and Spirit are very similar in the biblical languages.

"Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner."

The thought behind the so-called "Jesus Prayer" is that as one recites this prayer, the very depth of our being is penetrated and authentic Christ-like transformation takes place. Here are a few practical suggestions that some have found helpful in easing into this type of prayer.

    • Begin by asking for help from the Holy Spirit, remembering that it is only by the work of the Spirit that we can proclaim, "Jesus is Lord."
    • Next, become aware of your breathing for several deep breaths in and out. You might want to quietly give thanks to God for the breath of life, even though you are mostly unaware of this life-giving gift.
    • Silently say  the first part of the prayer as you breathe in: "Lord Jesus Christ."
    • Do this several times, imagining that you are breathing in the love, joy, and peace of the Lord Jesus.
    • After this, become aware of your breathing out and as you do so, silently say, "Have mercy on me." Imagine all the impurities, fears, sins that you are putting in the way of God's holy presence.
    • For those who are visually oriented, some suggest that this type of prayer can be enhanced by gazing at a picture of Christ like the one to the right - a recreation based upon the shroud of Turin image.

The great thing about Breath Prayer is that you can do it anywhere, anytime, and in any posture. As we practice this important exercise, not only will our hearts be refreshed and our spiritual eyes opened, we may find that Paul's admonition to "pray at all times in the Spirit" is not impossible but rather a life-giving joy!

Thank you ShopMama for updating us about dear Deb.

So sorry to read she is having trouble breathing, as I know it's the one difficulty she feared as she saw her mom suffer with it. I hope her oncologist is aware of this and working to maximize any therapy which may make her breathing and her sense of shortness of breath less. Glad to hear the pneumonia is improving. I'm sure she's very tired between the infection and the labor of breathing.

I hope when Deb is awake she is clear thinking and can enjoy her DH and others present. I'm glad she asked about us, and very happy you related we have a prayer group for her, and a small fire burning day and night to warm her with our thoughts.

Praying for you Deb and with Daffodil's help, trying a Breath Prayer which is new to me. Thanks.

Dearest Deb and the Slone Rangers:

It is so cold here in the Southeast, we still need coats. S'mores all around, with lots of dark chocolate, lots of hugs, and lots of prayers going up with the campfire smoke.......

    ~~~Blessings~~Daffodil
