Hi .. my sister in law has just found out that her breast cancer has spread to her bones. I think it is called Metastatic Cancer.  In our (family efforts) to support her and my brother and the kids, I am looking for advice on how to talk with the children. We will follow whatever my sister in law and my brother want and right now they do not want to say anything.  They need time.. it has all just happend in the last 48 hrs and the kids know that mom is on new cancer medication.   My amazing neice 6 and nephew 10 stay with my husband and I or my sister and her husband when their mom is in hospital, at appointments etc. Any advice is welcomed.  I can't imagine how my sister in law is feeling right now. I would be terrified..for my self and my family.    Both children do know their mom has cancer - she had one breast removed a few years ago and reconstructive surgery last summer.  But the cancer has returned.

    thelootlady...

There is a Stage IV page where some ladies have young children also. Maybe if you posted your question there you might get more replies....

I'm so sorry that your family has to go through this. Best results for your sister in law and her new treatment.

Thank you...we are hoping that the treatments will supress it for as long as possible.

I am having a bit of trouble navigating the site.  How do I get to this page?
