OK....

I was handling the Breast DX. fairly well now.(for the most part) But they found a thyroid nodule and I am sceduled to get a biopsy casue it looks suspicious. Goodness. This is almost more that my mind can handle. has anyone else had to deal with this? And heaven forbid a possitive thyroid cancer too? (primary ...  non-metastatic)

I am going in for round 4 chemo tomorrow. then only 2 more to go.. get rads too. but was feeling quite possitive and upbeat till this came crashing in on me. I need to learn how to not worry till there is something truly to worry about but htats such huge advice.. not sure I can totally get there.

My daughter - 15 years old non bc - has a thyroid nodule - it has been biopsied and is benign.  But when we were in the freaking out stage we were told that thyroid cancer is the most treatable cancer and quite curable.  That being said - dont worry til you need to!

After being diagnosed last year they also thought I might have thyroid cancer because of a nodule they found on my CT scan.  They did the biopsy and it was non cancerous.  I am glad they were careful though!

I had the reverse situation.   My thyroid was removed in 2000 because of multiple nodules throughout.  It turned out not to be cancer, but there were changing hurthle cells, which usually become malignant cancer cells, so I was glad I had it removed.   When I was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer in Jan 2009, they recommended a genetic test due to the thryoid and breast issues, but genetic testing was negative.  I had a bilateral mastectomy last week.   Good luck with the thryoid.  I've known several people who had thyroid cancer with no recurrence.
