Kelly I'm so jealous. I love Hawaii. I actually won the trip from coke. Once you slow down and get adjusted from the time change you should start getting more energy. Also we don't mind you venting.

HunkyD glad Mr Sandman has returned. My husband would say the same thing as yours; get "rolled". He can always come up with something out the most innocent thing.

Nancy my calendar seems empty since I finished treatment.

Rover good luck on your new treatment. 7 hours is a long time but maybe you can knit, read, or just sleep.

    Looking forward to the weekend.

Rover...7 hours does seem awful long... keep our fingers crossedit does the job.   I didn't buy any pottery but I brought back a wooden sculpture..it has a bit of a scary face but it has been painted and has the mayan calendar on it.. I really like it.   Funny thing, I had bought a keychain for my son which came with a wee sharp knife in it.  Coming through customs leaving Mexico.. they pulled me aside with my carryon saying I was carrying a knife.  I argued the point until we found the keychain.... needless to say they took the knife.  My hubby was rolling his eyes saying I told you to put it in the main baggage... he never mentioned that at all.  Probably thinking it and just staring off into space as he likes to do.   Anyway my son has a cool keychain with nothing init.

Kelly...I think after those treatments end...it is a little scary and also your emotions are all over the place.  You must have enjoyed Hawaii...I hear it is a beautiful place.

HunkyD.. you do have to do what is right for you and to give you peace of mind.

Wyoming.. can't wait to see your new hairdoo.... if I can figure out to post a picture...I will try to post what hair I have...

Take care to all the Junies.....Enjoy the day

Good to hear from you Kelle...hang in there.  I sense you are a very strong woman with a great family.  Glad you had a good trip.  KKing....glad you got some trinkets from your trip.  Thanks for the encouraging words about mastectomy options too.  I had to chuckle at myself driving home from work today.  It was 48 degrees and I cracked my driver side window a bit and then got chilled.  Pressed the button to roll it up and caught myself grabbing to hold down my (what used to be) shoulder length blonde hair so it wouldn't be rolled up in the window. Old habits...oh well...guess those of us that have had longer hair can understand maybe anyway.  Glad to be home for the weekend.  Rover...hope the treatment went ok.  Thought about you today.  I hope you get some rest this weekend.  I am reading a book called The Road now.  Anyone else read it?  So far it seems really good.  I know they are doing a movie too. Guess you know how much housework I will get done this weekend!!  Laughing  Here's wishing everyone a happy Friday the 13.

P.S.  Wyoming...you must have misunderstood my post concerning your release of Mr. Sandman.  He sure as hell isn't at my house!!  HunkyD

HunkyD I did misunderstood, I thought he had visited. I will blame the misunderstanding on chemo brain and not reading well. I'm glad you could chuckle about your hair.

Rover make sure you rest so you can stay strong.

Karen funny story about the little knife. Sounds like something I would do but then I would some how make hubbies fault.

Supposed to be nice this weekend, gives me spring fever.

    Have a good weekend.

The knife story reminds me of a time my mother decided to pick up a few last minute presents for the kids and carry them home on the plane so she could deliver them at the airport when they picked her up.  She unfortunately decided on cowboy hats, vests, and pop guns.  Guess who had a visit with security?     Kelly

ps Thanks for letting me vent I am back on the upswing now  :)

    Hi Everyone

I haven't been on here for awhile so had to spend some time seeing what everyone is doing.

Kelly, think your biggest problem right now is being so tired, what doesn't seem much to other people is a whole lot more when you have gone through all those treatments. I just spent this past week feeling real sorry for myself, couldn't get interested in anything, was tired all the time but not sleeping much. I just had my 6th treatment of Herceptin last Tuesday and thought that may be the reason I am feeling like this and also for 3 days after felt sick to my stomach.  Last night I said to heck with it and took a sleeping pill and didn't get up till 10:00 this morning which is very unusual for me with pill or not I am usually up by 6.The best part of all this that after a good sleep I feel much better with quite a bit more energy.  I suggest a good night sleep with or without meds. whatever works for you.  Sure hope you feel better soon

Rover good luck on your new treatment and yes 7 hours is a long time, find a good book one that just captures you right away you know the type the one you really don't want to put down. That will make the time go fast.

I love this place for venting, everyone is always so good about it, probably because we all understand.

    Everyone take care

    Bonnie

Hi everyone...Jax..can't wait to see the extensions.  Hope they turn out nice.  Good news about your house and your trip to Vegas too.  Wow...I hope you have a blast and get to see a good show or something.  You better stay off some of the rides..including The Big Shot.  I am in agreement with Bonnie about the sleep.  I feel so much better after 6 hours of sleep.  I am unfortunate to have to use the pills to do it but on the weekdays when I have to work...I am a user.  Wind is blowing about 30mph here so no warm spring days yet.  Rover..hope your trt went OK and that you are getting some sleep as well.  Wyoming...you must still be busy on the remodel.  I am already nervous about my 3 month checkup coming up.  I know you are about on the same schedule as me.  Well, lunch is about over....back to work.  HunkyD

Jax YEAH!!!!!!! It is good to know someone is having good luck. Go to a show. Kelly glad you are on the upswing. Rover good luck on treatment. HunkyD I slept all weekend. I have a knot under my scapula on the right side which has moved to the front of my breast. It hurts to take a deep breath. Of course this is the side of my cancer and treatment. I'm making an appointment with an acupuncturist. I'm also nervous about my 3 month check up. April 17th my D-day. I have posted an image of me with my pink hair. It looked like a lot more pink at home. Not as longs Jax's. Focus on the hair and not the wrinkles, red skin and big nose. My hair has a mind of its own.

Wyoming, you look good your hair is about the same length as mine and mine also goes in every different direction. The only thing I don't have is the pink hair maybe I will have to try it.

Jax love your extensions looks like the rest of your hair was just pinned up or something, doesn't really look short, very nice.

Wow girls...thanks so much for sharing your pictures.  You both look great.  Wyoming...my hair is really close to your length...guess that makes sense.  I love the pink in it.  Yours still has a lot of highlights in it.  Mine lays flat down so far unless I use my water based pomade on it, and it is darker.  I am still waiting for a little more length before highlights.  Jax...yours turned out great.  Love the color too.  That gives me ideas.  Your gal did a great job.  Don't know if she braided them in or used clips.  Looks like you are ready for Vegas baby!!!!  Anyway...just had to jump in and say how nice it is to see some others at the same hair stage.  Thanks for posting em'   Also Wyoming..hope the acupunture helps.  Later...HunkyD

Jax I love you color and extensions. Did your hair come in curly or did you use a curling iron? My hair isn't quite long enough for a iron yet.  You have very pretty eyes and smile!!! Have a great time in Vegas.

HunkyD I think the highlights you see are actually gray hair. HAHAHAHA I have an acupuncture appt tonight at 5:00. I also called my onc and I have blood work today and an appt tomorrow morning. This will replace my April appt.

    Everyone have a good day.

Love your hair as it appears to have come back in the same color as mine is and just about the same length.  One thing about it, it good to have  any hair day as to no hair day.

Wyoming love your hair, I would say mine is that length but seems to have gone cottonball like..if I don't use pommade or something it seems puffy.  Like Sandy said at least it is hair.

Jax.. loved the extensions as well.  Glad to hear good things are happening to you.

Rover ...hope all is well with you and that you can tolerate the chemo.

Hunky D...you and I will have to figure out how to add a photo...or do u know how??  I guess I could ask one of my kids, they seem to have a knack for this stuff.

Bonnie and Kelly....hope you are both feeling alright.

Feeling kinda old today... my daughter turned 21 on Monday.  I can still remember just having her and all this time has passes.  Her favourite place to eat is the Mandarin so we are going for lunch their Saturday.  She spent the last weekend partying with her friends so now it is my turn to celebrate with her.   Funny how friends come first....what can I say.

    Have a good day Junies

Jax good for you for buying your car. Keep the economy stimulated. We all appreciate it!!!! I went Zumaity a couple of years a go. It is amazing what the Cirque De Soliel company can do. I also have seen KA by them. I liked both.

Sandy I'm so glad that I have hair that I don't every have a bad hair day.

HunkyD and the rest. My test weren't the best, My 15-3 marker went up to 1025 from 18 in Jan. On Thur had a CT scan and a bone scan. Met with onc Thurs afternoon and I have 3 small spots on my lungs and 2 small spots on the liver. So I straited treatment this morning. Using a new cocktail of Avastin, Gemzar, and Carboplatin. I will have all three on day one on day 8 I will have the Gemzar and Carboplatin, the nothing for the next two weeks. Then start over. My onc is not giving a how long because we will aggressive and do this until we know it is in remission. Later on we may stretch it out between sessions. I should'nt loose my hair but I could. The mains se's is bloody noses and low blood counts (being tired and susceptible to infections). First treatment today went great. I ate lunch, took a nap, and feel the same as I have been for the last couple months. This treatment is cake so far. I nee you all to pray to any and all Gods you believe in to help me. Look for the four leaf clover, rub a rabbits foot, hang a horse shoe up right to hold all the luck, if you spill salt throw it over your left shoulder, and any thing else for good luck.Laughing

Going to Billings with my daughters for a girls weekend. My girls will be driving YEAH. I get relax in the back read and listen to them talk. I love these trips, we have done this since they were in elementary school.

Good luck everyone and keep me in your prayers and thoughts.Sorry to add one more burden on your already hectic and busy lives.

Wyoming....sorry about the test results.  I will personally be praying for ya every day, and that the chemo combo knocks the trouble spots back. Sounds like the side effects of the treatments won't be too severe.  I'm just so sorry this nasty shit surfaced again.  We're here for ya!  I hope you have a great time with your daughters this weekend.  Take it easy!  HunkyD

Wyoming.. I can't believe that.  I will be saying some prayers for you.  Keep my fingers crossed that the chemo will get rid of those nasty spots.  Enjoy your trip with the girls.

Jax... enjoy your holiday.  Yes, we should do that.  I am off work until at least June for now so we will plan it.

Hunky D.. you mentioned your checkup coming up.. when is it??  I am booked for May 15th with the onc.

Wishing all the Junies good health.

I'm sitting here watching the snow. We are in a blizzard and school is closed. It was close to 70 yesterday. Had a great time in Billings with my daughters. I slept on the way home. They wore me out. HAHAHA  I would'nt have it any other way.

I noticed a mistake on my last post. My 15-3 is only 125 not 1025. Looks better but still high.

Stay warm and have a good week.

Wyoming...we had wind here today...high wind.  Was 2 hours late for work.  At least I emailed my boss and let him know I would be late. Glad you got a snow day.  That makes for a good rest day after a fun trip.  You are right...the CA marker sounds much better at 125.  Push forward and you will have those counts back down.  Karen...you are going to be in shock when you go back to work in June.  Have you been off a whole year?  I am jealous of course.  That has been nice I'll bet, and has helped your body heal.  I have appt. on next Tuesday.  Double whammy...onc and surgeon.  Don't know where everyone else is lately....I'm in my sweats and am definately taking something to help me sleep tonight.  Rover...how you doing?  Maybe Jax won a bunch of money and found a Sketchers shoe outlet in Vegas. Wink  Good vibes to all!  HunkyD

I don't know why I don't know about this but has everyone done the 15-3 testing?  I don't believe I have even heard of it.  I did a lot of reading last year and then reached my max and have not looked up anything since then.  Should I have it done?  I kinda don't even care at this point, but not in a negative way.  I figure as long as I can get through most days feeling good and doing what I want and need to do what is the point of excessive worrying.

I am sorry Wyoming has bad weather.  My sister lives in Keystone SD and her kids just finished spring break.  She has seven kids.  When she found out the weather might keep them home another day or two she nearly cried.   :)

Kelly I think your sister had to have her kids home. The whole eastern half of Wy and most of western SD is snowed in. Our county and city can't get to the neighbor hoods so I get another day off. This make 3. Kelly the 15-3 is a marker of breast cancer. You doc probable has done it but must not have seen anything.

I usually don't wish my days away but I can't wait until June since I will be off then. Karen I'm sure you wish it would take a long time. Good for you for taking the time off to help your body heal.

HunkyD nothing like doing everything all a one time. Make sure to let us know what you onc and surgeon say.Gook luck and keep thinking good thoughts.

Jax probably bought out the sketcher store. What size do you wear? HAHAHA

I don't know if they do the 15-3 marker test in Canada or maybe they do and don't tell you.  I see the onc on May 15th and will ask him then.   Yes, I have been off almost a year...April 20th.  My family doctor isn't pushing for me to go back yet which is fine with me.  Once your back, your back for good.

HunkyD...let us know how it goes next Tuesday..I am sure things will be good with the onc.

Wyoming...my god that is bad weather... I thought spring was here.  We have temps above 0 right now so that is  a good sign.

Kelly.. it is a good attitude you have... if you feel good why worry.  I have to get my mind around that and think that way.

Hope you all enjoy your day...off to walk my dogs......need some exercise, even though I stand a lot and watch them sniff.

Checking in ...another cold and windy day here.  Hope you are enjoying your snow days Wyoming.  Do you have to go in for your trt Friday?  Hope your side effects aren't too bad.  I dont know which of the tumor markers my onc uses but he doesnt believe in them much.  He has run them in the past.  I love your attitude Kelly.  I agree.  Sometimes, the worry is so taxing, it just isn't worth it.  I also just want to feel good physically.  That hasn't happened for me yet.  Maybe I am just pushing it too hard but I don't think so.  Some days are better than others.  I am not a sissy girl either.  I just know when my body doesn't feel right.  Oh well, put it in a balloon and let it go....as they say.  Karen..that is great that you are still off work.  I would love to get up...enjoy coffee, walk the dog...put my lotion on my dry skin at leisure.  I am in fast speed from the minute I get up until I get home from work...then I crash.  Guess it keeps my mind off whats in the aforementioned balloon a little bit.  Well, tonight is my TV night.  Hope everyone is feeling well.  HunkyD

I get to go to school tomorrow which is Thurs. Went to the dentist to have him tell me that I need my crown replaced which I all ready knew. I have trt on Friday and this should be a good test as last weekend I did a lot of stuff I normally don't do such as shopping in a town 3 hours away. I'm trying to keep positive since on the whole feel good. It will take me a little while to get my confidence back up but I'm working on it. HunkyD it looks like you might get a bunch of snow, hopefully you don't get snowed in. There were snow drifts around town over 10' high.

Karen when I walk my dog I don't stand around while she sniffs I have to pick her up because she is so lazy that I have to get her started!!! I have never seen a more lazy dog. If I take her some where out of the neighborhood then she is ready to go. I guess I neighbor hood just isn't as interesting.

    Keep in touch and posting.

Just a quick question for everyone that has had Herceptin. I was wondering what kind of side affects if any did you have.  On my 6th one I felt a little nauseated and just put it off to something I ate. Then after my 7th one I felt nauseated for 3 days after and on the third day was actually sick. I will be having my 8th next weed and hoping this is in my head or something, but thought I would come on here and ask. I usually get the best answers here.

Happy Saturday to all.  I am on husbands laptop and having a struggle typing.  Wyoming...hope your trt went OK yesterday.  I was thinking about ya.  I am trying to do a little housecleaning today but am going slow at it.  Sitting down with a little coffee right now.  Jax, glad you made it back and with money no less.  That is a miracle in itself to come back from vegas with more than you started.  How is the expanders?  Hope they are holding up OK.  I know you've had some problems but hopefully you are on the road to exchange city!  Bonnie, hope your nausea was not related to the herceptin.  I am not on it so can't provide any imput. Maybe some of the other gals will come along and know something.  Karen....what kind of dogs do you have?  They can be a chore to walk sometimes if they are big.  Weather is still chilly here.  Lots of wind.  Oh well, don't have to worry about my hair getting messed up.  Hope everyone has a great weekend.  Talk to ya all later...HunkyD
