    Hello, I am new to this site.  I am Tripple Neg. I am going for my 4th round of AC on 3/20 and will start Taxol for 4 rounds x 2 weeks after that.  Then, I will start radiation.  I have not had any major side effects or problems.  Just a little dry mouth, losing taste sometimes, but that's all.

     I have a very strong faith in God and I know he is watching over me.

    Any advice or comments anyone can give me on what to expect with Taxol, would be greatly appreciated.

    I'm not exactly sure what Ki67 is...but with Taxol you can expect bone aches and tirdness. Do take your steroid meds with this as well.

    I found Taxol harder, I did 4 rounds too. But the aches lasted 3 or 4 days after the infusion. That said...everyone is different. Congrats on almost finishing!

    Hi ki-67 is the rate of your cell growth taken from the tumor at pathology.

     According to this website if growing more than 6% to 10% then it would be unfavorable.

    I found Taxol to be painful for my legs.  It will depend also on how you are going to do the infusions meaning how often.  You are doing them every two weeks so the side effects might not be as bad as those of us have known getting it every 3 weeks.  I know some women are now getting it 1 x 12 which makes it more tolerable.

    I would like to suggest you consider genetic counseling.  http://www.facingourrisk.org  is an excellent website for finding the information you may need to consider for your future.

    I believe we triple negatives tend to have a higher growth rate. Mine was 67%.  But if yours is high, there is one good thing about that...chemo tends to really kill off quickly growing cells.  After neoadjuvant chemo of dose dense 4 a/C and 4 taxol, my tumor was gone, no invasive cancer left in breast (just in situ) and 1 mm left in one node.  I had more positive nodes before neoadjuvant chemo.  I did more chemo after surgery  (2 more A/C becuase it had made my tumor disappear, then 4 carboplatin with 4 taxotere)

    Hi

     I am still trying to get a good answer to your question. The best I have so far is it's the rate the cancer cells divide. Mine was 89, and I was told that is very high - not good..
