Hi everyone

I was diagnosed with breast ca in 2007.  I had a lumpectomy, 5 tx chemotherapy and 6 weeks of radiation.  I went back to work in February 2008.  I am a nurse and very busy.  My son has lupus of the brain and needed a hip replacement in February 2009.  I did take some time off of work to care for him.  Returned to work at the end of February.  I really feel terrible.  My fatigue scares me.  I have difficulties driving...  So my doctor advised me to be off work until I see my oncologist on Tuesday.  I don't have a lump... I went for an breast MRI in February and still don't have the results of this.  I am triple negative with metaplastic carcinoma.  I was recently told I have the BRCA 1 gene.  I thought I was stressed which it is warranted but the therapist that I am seeing stated that I was coping well and she was concerned with my health.  I also have this nagging pain in the middle of my back.  Let's hope it's just stress and I will get over it.  I am also terribly forgetful and have difficulties speaking at times.  What do you guys think?

thanks

Kim

    Hi Kim

I was dx with a recurrence months ago and last year felt dreadful exactly like you are describing plus, dry cough and I had a lower back pain and pain in my thigh etc.  Because of my history my onc ordered a battery of scans and I was almost shocked when they came back clear!  I now think that perhaps a lot of my symptoms were caused by tamoxifen?  Also I was dx with adult onset asthma.

I came off the tamox and later last year I then got bloated, nauseus, full feeling, pelvic pain etc and an mri showed a large fibroid!

You are doing the right thing, if you don't feel right and it persists...you must get it checked.  It helped me to keep a diary so that I could describe specific symptoms.

    Best of luck

Are you eating well and hydrating? Getting enough sleep? Its hard to be a patient and a caretaker at the same time. Bless your heart. Try to take good care of you. Call and get your MRI results today. There is no reason for them to be this late.

Thanks for the advise.  Yes I am drinking water and eating a lot of fruits and veggies.  I took a few days off of work to catch up on my sleep.  I am sleeping 8-9 hours a night and I still feeling exhausted and sick.  I guess I will know more tomorrow.

    thanks

    Hi Kim

Just wondering how you got on?  I too often found that no amount of sleep made me feel refreshed... but remember stress can cause this...

    Hi Kim

I am hoping your scans and tests all come back clear.

I understand what you're going thru. I went back to work in Jan and the last couple weeks I have been very tired. No matter how early I go to sleep, I still am tired the next day. I have been having a lot of pain in my lower back, and in a rib in the exact area where the original tumor was located. I also have a constant headache. I know I am under a lot of stress, but I am sure that cannot be the cause of all this.

Again, I hope everything is okay with you, please let us know,

    Hugs Jean
