Just Diagnosed with Invasive-Also have LCIS

I was diagnosed in Jan. 2009 with LCIS after a biopsy because of calcifications.  Had an MRI which showed a possible fibroadnoma in the same area so I requested that the BS remove the fibroadnoma since she had to do a "lumpectomy" in the area where the LCIS was diagnosed. After doing some research on LCIS I was ready to just do a double masectomy as I could not handle the meds, checks, worry, etc.  I also had a family history and the genetic testing is in process.  After surgery to remove both things, I have been diagnosed with Stage 1 invasive lobular adenocarcinoma.  Now I am scheduled with a Plastic Surgeon to see if I can have immediate reconstruction before the lymph node mapping.  It was a blessing in a way to find this early stage 1 cancer.  It helped make my decision easy, that's for sure.  What have I learned?  Follow your heart (and in my case, the Holy Ghost).  My best to you all!
