Thickness of Skin

I found a boil under my breast a few days ago, but i thought nothing of it because I had one a long time ago under my stomach. Well about 3 days ago I noticed that my breast seemed a little different. The skin was thick from the end of my areola to underneath my breast with the boil in the middle. (it burst yesterday) My mom talked to a nurse who said it just may be tissue damage but for some reason I didn't believe her and I started doing research. That's when I found information on IBC. The thickness is the only symptom I have.

I have breast cancer in my family (my mother and her cousin are currently fighting it) so I know there is a high risk chance for me.

    With your faimly history you should  good in and see your pcp and let him/her know your concern.  With IBC it does not show up on mammograms the only way to get the correct dx is to have a biopsy.
