LIFE'S A BEACH!

Oh beachettes! I feel so much better today! I went and got hydrated yesterday at the Cancer Hospital. I woke up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat and felt like I could not breath very well, but later when it was morning, I got up and took a shower. I have not taken a shower (only baths) for months and it made me feel a little human that I could stand up long enough without toppling.
When I saw my pain doctor today, she prescribed an arsenal of pain meds and constipation meds to counteract the pain meds. Just seeing her detailed plan, made me feel better.
After seeing my doctor, my bco friend, Cheryl, was having a new chemo starting today. I had never met in her person, so I went and found her and we visited for over an hour. I think that really made me feel better. She is a lovely person, and she is toying with the idea of coming to the beach! (neat little pun, huh?)
When I got home I sat up for the first time in days and got out my laptop, yeah! I have been on the laptop in the last week, just not in an upright position. My mother came over and made me tilapia fish, asparagus, and yam. I actually felt like I had a little appetite. Which is good, since I found out today that I had lost 4 more pounds.
So nice to be able to tune into the beach and see the gorgeous photos (espec. liked Jules photos of yesterday(?) and Coonie's photo of what looked to be a baby Annie dog!
So I think the power of prayer and lack of chemo have intervened to make me feel better! If I can feel this good come 3/24, then Hawaii will truly be pure joy for me.

We are each unique just as the glass treasures that slip onto the beach to make us smile with delight.
Like the currents that carry these majestic sea glass treasures across the Pacific we send our well and peaceful wishes to all who are enduring difficult times* We may be pleasantly surprised as the sea glass arrives dressed especially for us in magnificent splendor of barnacles or a frosted wave-rolled patina.
Many people associate the floats with Japanese and Korean fishermen, but some vintage samples hail from Europe, Russia, and America. Contemporary versions, handblown by artisans, honor the originals.
Wherever the floats come from, their form often spherical but sometimes shaped like pears or rolling pins are all magical in form.

Hello SoCalLisa. I adore your spotted giraffes.
Julz. Those are some fine flip flops above bespeckled with Jewels. Loving them.
I see a group craft in the making. : )
We could take over Fernando's hut.
-
Beautiful pics sahalie!
-
(((((((((((((TOY)))))))))))))))) -
Thanks Lucy ....er I mean Curlieqs. : )
* I was just asked to repost these so I went back into the beach cabana and found them.
Here goes: Ask and you shall receive.
*
PICTURE EDITING IS EASY.
It's done through BCO properties in the tree box. Not photoshop.
For the HUGE pictures go back to your post and click EDIT.
When page comes on to edit, click the picture.
A long tiny window will come down and at the bottom is says PROPERTIES
Click Properties.
Reduce the size (numbers) in the two oblong boxes by making your picture
no larger than 500 being the largest.
If you have a picture with two different number properties as most do then
just figure your little bit of math and down size the photo.
I usually leave the last two numbers alone and only change the first number.
Example:
780 X 578 (i change to 480 (lower than 500 remember) and 278
The resized picture will show.
If it looks good to you and fits this window without a scrollbar below it then
you are good.
Click Save and your edited photo will fit this window and our page will not go
off the charts.
Simple easy.
Now go try it.
Thank you. My eyes thank you. This page thanks you.
*
You could even go fix the last page when you have time.
One trick that was taught to me is to type words only above and below the picture.
If you type beside the picture there goes the page off into oblivion.
Again. Thanks.
EXAMPLE:
Resizing Pictures.
Click EDIT. On your post.
Click the picture.
Click Properties.
Reduce numbers within two oblong boxes.
Numbers should be no larger than 500.
Example:
780 X 578 change to 480 X 278
The resized picture will appear.
Click Save.

Hi Beachies,
Well- it was a rough week. I had my 1st zometa treatment. It is an IV that they give you in 15 minutes. Well the next couple of days I had fever and chills (as they indicated could happen). They told me if the slow down the IV they can usually lessen the symptoms. So next time they better slow that baby down!

I have a busy weekend (town meeting time) - but, I will try to catch up on all the beach news over the weekend. Hope all is well - and thanks Sharon and Coonie for keeping an eye out for me.

Good morning Beach Babes! Its a rainy Saturday here but that's just fine. I'll take it because it is getting warmer every day and there are little buds on the tips of all the plants outdoors so I know that spring is almost here. Goodness knows the weeds in my lawn sure think it has arrived.
Checkum, so glad to see you checking in and glad you are feeling better. Remember that next time, hopefully you won't also still be recovering from major surgery. Good grief! How much is a body supposed to take?

-
Here's a song to get us excited for spring arriving. Nothing says summer fun like Alan Jackson on the Chattahoochie
-
Goodmorning all beach friend.
Jaz, your right and I will rejoice. It is still dark here and haven't been outside but I hope it rains and if it does I am running outside and dancing in it. We need it so bad.
Checkum, so sorry you have had a rough week, this next one is bound to be better. We have missed you much.
Julz, oh I love those flip flops and Sahalie is right. I want to get out the crafts and make a pair. I have been knitting up a storm and bought a paint by number picture of a leopard, have not done that since I was a kid.
Sahalie, love the beach baubles of all kinds, colors, small and large.
Wonderful pictures being posted
Sharon and Coonie love your sense of humor
Blessings and hugs to foots and dream.
Curleq, so glad you are on the beach, have really enjoyed you and would love to get to know you better.
Faith, busy woman, have a great day and no I don't think you can even make it 24 hours without us.
Lisa, love those giraffe pictures, they made me smile
Mary jo, am so glad you are blessing our beach. I love you here with your praise for our Lord and you too, Jaz
Everyone have a glorious weekend.

edited to change picture, these have to MissS legs in those pink tennis shoes and walking on candy
What about these legs!!!
Toyful, love you st paddy tree and love you. I am sneaking in your suitcase too. So glad you are feeling better
To all beachettes from A to Z hugs and love and have a wonderful day.
-
Well, it's nice to see so many posts. Toyful and Checkum.........great to hear you two are feeling somewhat better. Checkum, I read somewhere here on the boards about it being a 15 minute infusion and sometimes slowing it down to half an hour helps with SE. Someone also posted that the first infusion often has more SE than the rest. Hope this is the case with you. And Toy.......Coonie and I are SO excited about our impending trip to join you in Kauai. We're just having a little problem figuring out our mode of transport. Neat to have been able to meet up with your BCO sister.
Lisa, you are the greatest when it comes to pics. Sahalie, my next oversized one I'll give your instructions a try. I'm always so annoyed when it's my pic that's too big for the screen and then all the following posts you've gotta scroll back and forth to read them. I don't mind when someone else does it though, just relieved when it's not me. LOLOL.
A big beach morning to all Beachettes. I can't do the individual posts but please know you are all special too me.
Well darnit Sahalie, already tried to make this smaller just to practice and no can do!! I don't think it's too big anyway but here goes nothing.

-
Sparbiedoll, I heard that your state and Texas are really really in need of rain. I would hate to see the brush fires like that one bad year.
Toyful, loved the tree! If I had room in my tiny house, I would get a white tree too.
I guess Sharon and Coonie are having a Saturday morning sleep in. They're usually here early.
-
I'm up, just quietly enjoying the view.

-
Okay, the way I figure, Faith hasn't been on for 12 hours or so. Is she gonna make it over 24?
Safe journey Faith. -
Good morning beachies!!!

I am soooooo happy to see the posts from checkum, toy, dream, footie......You all have been in my prayers and thoughts!! May you have continued strength and courage to keep on keepin on...
Toy, Sharon and I WILL come up with a good plan to get to Hawaii. Our time is running
out though......you say it's the 24th that we're leaving? Sharon!! That's 10 more days!!
de plane de plane de plane!!!
All the pics are so pretty.......so nice to wake up to on a Saturday morning.
It IS raining here in my state Spar. It rained all night long. And it's cold too!
Probably not cold like some of you ladies experience, but it's cold for me

The clock is ticking and I'm almost willing to say Faithie will be checking in before
midnight
We'll just see how long she can hold out. Sure hope she has a goodturn-out this morning. Maybe the leg showing did the trick, or it could be the breakfast
that Sharon and I have been cooking up.......naaaahhhh---probably the legs!
Brain is still asleep, so a big shout out to EVERYBODY!!!!! Hope you all have a great
Saturday and weekend!!! (((((((((((((((((hugs all around))))))))))))))))
-
SHARON!!! I don't know WHY I haven't thought of this before, but...
we can take our 4-wheelers to Hawaii!!! They're good on gas, easy to
get around on, and I have two....
The yellow one is "Big Bird" and the green one is "Gump"
Gump is mine and Big Bird belongs to my DH

We would have to take the back roads because we can't drive these on the highways.
Oh wait!!! I don't guess there is a back road to Hawaii, huh?
sigh......well, just a thought!
-
You are so right Sharon. I am on Zometa Checkum and I was so sick afetr the first infusion. I laid on the couch and was "done with chemo if this is what it was going to be like". I promise you, it got better. In fact, i never had that reaction after that first infusion. Hope you feel better!
Off to get my niece this afternoon, so I will miss you all! Thanks for the seat Sahalie
.Have a great day to you all!!!

-
Sahalie...when my husband was in Vietnam, he picked up quite a few of those balls...we still have some of the very large ones in the green..
If you have Windows ..you can download a free image resizer from Microsoft.com
it is under power toys..then you can right click on a photo and resizing is one of the options..
and you just click, small, medium or large..
I just loved watching the giraffes at the zoo...especially because there were two youngsters there..apparently you can tell by the "horns" Last time we were at Wild Animal Park here, we
saw a baby being born out on the mesa..I love their eyelashes..
-
4 wheeling to Hawaii Coonie. And where do you propose to put your luggage AND your pills?
This might be an idea. No luggage room but at least they can swim.
-
Oh MAN!! Wouldn't this be a nice spot to sit?

-
That is gorgeous!
