Hello Slonedeb and all,
This move the clocks forward one hour has rained being "off" this week for me, and I am sorry I haven't posted as much to you. I just loved how bright it was in the mornings and then boom, we all awaken to darkness. For two days I couldn't even figure out my complicated alarm clock (turns out I had a.m., p.m. reversed), and buses were missed, breakfasts' forgone, and just generally loopiness.
I've thought of the Slonerangers a lot though. Deb and Kbug are especially often on my mind. I know you're in the hospital Deb, and how I wish someone might read you these posts and describe them to you. The words, the pictures, the love that is shown is uplifting and welcomed. Are you being well cared for Deb? Are your needs being meet? Sometimes we just have to speak up, and as a gentle soul I hope you will do this for yourself and that your family-god bless them- will similarly do so. May your DH and daughters and son feel our support too: they are not alone in their concern and may they feel some gentle presence as they go about their day.
It's about carrying someone's water, joanne of bc.org forums used to say. Acceptance and help, sadness mixed with recognition of success, grace accepted into one's heart.
Prayers sent on the high winds to KentuckyDeb tonight, with hope and ability to find a sense of peace to all our sisters and brothers here and there.

Slonedeb & SloneRangers..... I'm safely in Richmond, VA..... it was 9.5 hours of driving, but it passed quickly, with spurts of sunshine along the way. I saw a beautiful tree in full white blossoms as I got off the Interstate here in town.
Tender. I seem to have a memory that our Slonedeb may have come home from the hospital. It seems to me that ShopMamaPammy had spoken to Deb on the phone..... but perhaps that's not the most up-to-date info??
Slonedeb, where ever you are, we keep you in our prayers for continued stregth in the storm.

Although I believe in god I am not a overely spiritual person, until BreastCancer hit. I have been following this thread for awhile. SloneDeb was one of the first Sister to answer one of my question's. Since I have been on this board I have seen plenty come and go and some we have lost. But I truly believe our SloneDeb is going to win this battel she is having cause she has such a kind heart. I wish for her the very best and to let her know that she has been a inspiration to us new ones. SloneDeb keep up the fight cause we need your caring words of advice and support you are very special!!!!
Hugs!!! Bridget

Slonedeb. It's been a good, but very l-o-n-g day for me. I'm fortunate to work this hard -- and exhaust myself in the process. I'll sleep well tonight!
Bridget, welcome to our 'official' SloneRangers group..... you've been 'unofficial' up until now & we're glad to have your praying in our midst.
I, too, remember when you reached out to me in chat, Slonedeb. I was so new & so frightened -- and you were an angel in your responses and encouragement! Your fan club continues to grow and we will continue to surround you with the strength of our committment to you.
Kbug. Big hugs to you, too. You teach us much in the way you go about your dedication to life, living, your family and your faith. Blessings on you tonight.
I don't think I'll make it on-line tomorrow.... Early morning start and then the drive back to home.
Know that I'll be praying up and down those mountain roads.

I hope you had a peaceful day Slonedeb.
Gentle hugs.

Kbug, Slonedeb, and all of the Slonerangers, love and blessings to you today and everyday. You are all in my prayers daily. Kbug, tell us how the chemo is going for you? How often do you get it? I have to check here everyday to see how my cyber friends are doing.

I am glad to hear Deb is at home, as we all know there is no place like home. Our space, our place, one where we most often feel most comfortable. So this is good, especially knowing how you cherish your home. Perhaps the daffodils are popping up, and soon it may be warm enough to raise a window sill some. Home food is always better than hospital food, and maybe your family and neighbors are cooking now for you. But just the comfort of well spent personal time is what so many of us cherish in our home, and tonight I am so very glad that this has been made happen for you.
I prayer for a peaceful night for all, and especially wish you to know I have a special prayer for you Deb.
Thank you Faith for letting me know this.

Good Morning Deb,Thought of you this morning so logged on to say "hello". While it's overcast up here, maybe it's sunny down by you. Just dropped my baby off for her first SAT; amazing grace, what a treasure children turning-adults are. I see myself in younger years in her. May your own be with you, perhaps your granddaughter too, and please know we think of you all. Prayers for a good day for you Deb.((Hugs))Tender

Sending gentle hugs. Are there signs of spring in Kentucky? There are here.
-
Sending you warm thoughts and prayers dearest Deb and all the SloneRangers!
-
Slonedeb. I've driven thru the mountains of VA to return to OH. It was gorgous, even in the overcast weather. Thought of you most of the way. Our mountain queen. Foothills? Or real mountains I wonder, now??
Anyhow. wanted you to know that I continue with prayers for your acceptance of your story. I listened to a 7 CD series of "acceptance" ....... very Biblical. very inspirational.
Much food for thought about accepting the "now" that we undergo as perfect, even thru illness, even thru loss..... thru our acceptance of the situation at hand we can allow our story to be refined, turning the sludge into rare gold.
Your sharing here with us has done that. Turning your pain and fear into friendship and support.
My heart is with you, Kbug and all of our dear SloneRangers.

Help me, lord to fight this disease. Help me to take charge of my
medical care and treatment. Give me a positive, fighting spirit.
Help me to say no when it is appropriate, remembering always
to treat everyone, including the medical staff, With the same dignity
and respect that I expect of them. Guard me from the temptation to
resign to negativity or anxiety. Surround me with people who care
about me and who will pick me up when I fall. In Jesus name. Amen
-
Slonedeb. I'm attempting to remember some more from the author's CD series that I listened to..... he talked for hours about 'acceptance and surrender' as we acknowledge the life situation that we are under-going...... if we can learn to "accept & surrender" to the truth that we are experiencing, then we have given up the resistance to what is happening, and we can be whole.
He said that we don't need to pretend to be 'happy' about what's happened/happening..... but that we need to 'accept' it for what it is..... not be in opposition to our life, by wishing things were different.
I'm not sure if I'm making sense, but it was all very encouraging, offering me assurance.
Challenging, but so helpful.
He spoke at length about forgiveness..... forgiving ourselves, forgiving the situation, forgiving others, forgiving our parents...... and always returning to the idea of "acceptance"
Whatever happened in our youth or childhood, has happened, let it go, accept it, forgive and be whole.
Just want you to know that I'm thinking of you this morning.

Good morning, Slonedeb.
I took a lovely walk this morning and watched the day arrive.... it was lovely to hear the birds calling to one another to wake the neighborhood. Spring is on the wing.
