I just did the advanced step for the first time today so was too busy getting it right to notice the direction of the purple feet but I'll pay attention tomorrow.  I like the yoga and aerobics too - the balance I can never seem to get right.  I'm afraid I'm going to walk right off the board even though I'm walking in place.  I did the running yesterday and it kicked my butt.

    Margaret, glostagirl ~

No Wii today as I was out all day and then my son spiked a fever and was on couch monopolizing the TV. My armpit and side got exercises from the lymphedema PT though!!! I'll do some massaging of the spot she was concerned about right below my scar under my arm tonite, as well as some doorframe pulls.

Maybe tomorrow. Margaret, I was slow on all the balance things in the beginning, so I would do just one or two at the end of my workout. I have been doing all the top row of yoga, the hula hoop twice, 1 clockwise, 1 counter, then several reps of the advanced step. Sometimes the strength torso twist. But I am way too old and/or arthritic for planks and whatnot. I am now better at soccer, balance balls, but still really bad at penguins. Just enjoying it.

So no one else doing their wii, either, eh? I did the top row of the yoga, one step, two hula hoops and that was it for today. Well I may get on later but my son, better now but still 100 temp, is still monopolizing the telly.

You all made it sounds so fun I went I bought a Wii last weekend, but couldn't find the wii fit, so I ordered it on line and should have it tomorrow.  I see the PS & BS on 3/12 to schedule by bilateral mastectomy & reconstruction due to ADH, DCIS & LCIS.  Sounds like it should help me with my recovery.  Thank you for the suggestion.

Unique, I didn't do the Wii yesterday.  I took a break from all exercise yesterday.  I haven't done it today either but I did do 20 minutes on the exercise bike..  I'll do the Wii after dinner - I couldn't get on last night - the grandkids were competing against each other on it - they discovered the two person running in place.  If I do 30 minutes tonight, that will be almost an hour of exercise - haven't done that for awhile LOL!

DSB, I think you will like the Wii Fit.  Have fun.

Glostagirl......checking in.  I'm exercising as much as I can outside instead of the Wii.  I went snowshoeing Monday and skiing today.  In between, lots of stretching.  My son and his friends are keeping Wii Fit busy!  They love the ski jumping and soccer.   I'll use it more after I have surgery.

For some reason I can't hula hoop from left to right.  I tried boxing tonight, did yoga and some step....was into it until I smelled dinner and had to stop.

dsb - I see you are from Michigan not sure where Hubbardston is. I live way at the bottom of the state. Have you checked out the Get togethers thread for the MI survivors?

Unique - Cute Mi avatar. How can I show a picture of my Mi without having it as my avatar? Hope your son is feeling better. Congrats on getting a bronze piggy bank for 10 hrs!

glostagirl - Snowshoeing and skiing sounds like fun. I do a little snowshoeing here in MI - great workout. I like using the Wii more for fun than for my exercise workouts. I do like to keep up with the body test and keep an eye on my BMI.

Margo - I have trouble hula hoop to the right maybe we could trade off and have a decent score...haha

Jasmine - Those panda bears leave a mark too!

I have a couple of new scores... Unique you have me beat on step and hula

    basic step - 285 advanced step 582

basic hula 261 advanced 3 minute 688 the 6 minute hula is a killer!

new score on ski jump - 395

running - short run 114 long distance run - 184

new scores for balance bubble beginner - 28:88 advanced 28:38

    beginner ski  - 36:10

Anyone get to the Lotus focus...my score 180 seconds

We have 8 members signed up on our Wii fit.....8 is the limit unless there is a way to over ride it. So I have lots of competition at home too.

    Have fun!

    Hi all ~

I have missed two days of Wii due to kid being sick at home and me not feeling that great either!!! A little queasy and very tired. Winggirl's list tho might get me doing some balance things a bit later. I did do the yoga at radiation this morning because the lady before me was late so I had some time alone in my gown and put it to good use. I was soooooo achey this morning and the yoga helped loosen me up.

I had such a laugh from this Buddha saying from over on Etsy
    http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=21411036

"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -Buddha

I haven't had a chance to do the Wii for the last two days - went back to work Thursday, ran late at lunch on Friday so didn't do it at lunchtime, and haven't had time yet today.  As far as the stats, I think it is Winggirl and Unique who are in contention!  The Penguin one I really like though so I may just aim to beat you!

    Hi Margaret,

Maybe we should rename this topic "I didn't have the chance to do my Wii today" LOL.

I missed a couple days this week because my son was sick - fevers 102+ - and I didn't feel that great either, aches and pains and a little dizzy at times. It was enough to get him on the sofa in front of the TV with fluffed pillows. And get to radiation. I got back on today for two 30 min sessions and I STINK at everything again! Ha ha ha!

I did get a 303 on the hula hoop though. That doesn't beat my personal best of 306. I spent a little more time on the boxing, and I stink at that too! It is sure fun though and I feel good from it.

Shall check my scores and post any that are new highs for the group.  Think the only one that's a possibility is the advanced hula hoop as I seem to get into a groove and can roll up the numbers.  Much better at going right than left.  Wish that I had had the Wii fit while off on disability leave.  Hard to fit it in now that I am back working full time with 1 1/2 hr commute time daily and involved in a few volunteer efforts.  Yes, I know that I really need to get in the exercise ....

Hi, Jisman ~ the way I'm doing it now is to do 30 mins in the morning and then the other 30 before bed. It's relaxing. I do the yoga and aerobics for the first round, then the balance stuff later. That especially is good before bed, it's relaxing. There's a meditation in the aerobics area, I tried it once but didn't really understand what I was supposed to be doing. Sitting still. But I flunked it. If I could get the hang of it that might be a nice way to finish the day.

P.S.: I decided the MOST important thing for me in staving off recurrence is to exercise and eat right. So I'm gonna do the exercises and leave off volunteering for the moment.

P.P.S.: I did edge up on two of my scores. Girls, when you beat a score, copy the list into a new post with your top score in bold. OK? Like I did here.

Margo - Try to catch the red fish on the Penguin game as they are worth more points and don't fall in the water....lol

Unique - The Lotus Focus is relaxing. I have trouble keeping still sitting cross leg so I just keep legs in front of me while sitting on board. Stay focused on the candle flame the more focused you are the smaller the candle gets. Once candle melts all the way down you have it mastered. I know you can do this one. If you lose your focus the scary man's voice yells. That silly butterfly will not stay out of the flame and the footsteps along with the floor swaying can be distracting. I think the game only goes to 180 sec. for highest score.. at least that is all I have been able to get.

Winggirl ~ I will try the Lotus Focus again. I think what was distracting to me was wondering how it can tell if I am focusing on that dang candle! I was never good at meditating. I attended a Quaker meeting for awhile and found myself asleep most of the time.

I beat your score on the Table Tilt Basic - woo hoo! However I still suck at the Table Tilt Advanced. Didn't finish it yet. Now you can try to beat me again!

Anybody do Rhythm Boxing?  I suck at it all, but I got 346 so far.....

Also, can you add me to the Lotus Focus for 180 seconds?  Sorry, it's late, and I have no brain for doing a cut and paste!  Thanks!

I haven't been able to exercise since I returned to work - I'm ready to but have suffered a diverticulitis attack since last Sunday and can barely walk let alone exercise.  I'll get there.

    Hi galz!

I added a new topic so our top scores would appear at the head of our forum.

Wondering if we want to keep this forum for sharing as well, and how to split up the conversation.

We could always migrate to the new forum en masse ...

The new one is "Our Top Wii Scores"

If you guys don't like the idea of a new one, let me know and it will fall to the bottom!

I was completely exhausted today, altho I took a rest and feel better now. I have to lie down when I come home from rads and then I feel better later, if I don't I just drag for the rest of the day.

I did 45 mins of Wii tonight, and did poorly on most of them. Just tired I guess. The yoga was nice in terms of making me feel refreshed. I did nudge up my scores a little bit on Advanced Step, my fav aerobic, to 560 and Basic Table Tilt to 120.

    Hi unique and everyone

I bought the Wii Fit accessory kit last weekend (impulse purchase when visiting with my favorite sis), but have yet to buy the Nintendo (?) console and Wii Fit software.  THAT makes a whole lotta sense!  Do I need anything else besides the console & software?  Anyone know the places with the best prices?  I was thinking of starting at Wallymart.

    Gayle -

You are so funny. Talk about tail wagging the dog. Anyhow you have indeed started on something good. Get the Nintendo Wii - see if there's a place called Gamestop and if anyone has returned one, you can buy a used one for cheap. Or buy a new one. Then get the Wii Fit game - it's a big package with a game and a balance board. It's expensive but very worth it.
