I was diagnosed one month after my 40th birthday in 2004.
-
I was 51 when diagnosed, just a month short of my 52nd birthday. Now it's nearly two years later and I'm doing fine.

I was 36 at diagnosis and am now 37.
Grade III stage 2a 2 lumps--1 1.9cm and the other 1.6cm
I chose to have bilateral mastectomies and am feeling better every day.

I was 39 in 1996, they gave me less then a year to live! Well i guess I showed them. Stage 3 Grade D 17 postive nodes, 9cm tumor!
-
I had just turned 50 in May and was diagnosed in August. Grade 3 Stage 3. 3.5cm tumor with 14 nodes.
I had a total mastectomy with TRAM flap and chemo. I started radiation last week.
I did monthly BSE and had my mamogram every year in September so I was just about due when I had pain in my breast and went to the DR.
My tumor was HR/PR- and had a 90% growth rate so I am not sure how long it was there before it was found. I never felt it and my Dr couldn't feel it. They didn't see it on mamogram but did see it when I had the ultrasound. Peggie -
I found the lump when I was 34, but was officially diagnosed when I was 35. Stage 2B, grade 3, 2.5 cm IDC, 1/12 nodes positive, ER/PR-, HER2 3+.

I was 3 months past my 52nd birthday. I thought that 2004 would be a stellar year for me because I was born in 1952 on the 13th of the month. It's not like I'm into numerology or anything but 4x13=52 and it was 2004 and I was 52 and all that. I guess it was a stellar year for me, but not for the reasons I thought. I entered the world of BC on April 6th and here I am A Cancer Warrior with one year behind me and going strong. Peace and Love to all my fellow travelers. NancyLee

Dx at 56- had found lump in Sept. 2003, went in and doctor ordered diagnostic mammo, but was not dx as bc, was told it was fibrocystic, but check every 6 months. In March 2004 mammo showed suspicious for bc and biopsy confirmed. Wish I had insisted on biopsy in September, but was so glad to hear good news, let it go. Surprised so many of us were missed the first time.
-
Diagnosed January 2005, age 54.
Pat -
Was 56.5 at time of diagnosis( March 2004). It is now a full year later and I am feeling well and recent mammo and xray showed no recurrance.

I was 46 when dx nov/04. IDC, ER+ with lots of nodes involved. Found tumour myself, Mammogram didn't alert anyone in Nov/03. Mastectomy in Nov, 1 1/2 months chemo left, rads in June. Looking forward to being 47 next week!
-
I was 64 at diagnosis--IIB--am 66 now. I think there would be a lot more 60 somethings but many older women don't use the computer very much.
JulieS -
I was diagnosed just after my 30th birthday and two weeks before my wedding!
-

I was diagnosed two days before Christmas 2004 at the age of 49; two weeks later I turned 50. What a year this has been.
Margaret -
I was dx in August, 2003 with IDC and I was 52. My mom had BC at age 65, but she had taken HRT for thirty years. In an effort to avoid BC, I made a conscious effort to completely avoid the HRT, but it didn't seem to matter in the end. Who knows what causes it?
Hugs,
Savannah -
46 at dx via mammogram. I'd been going yearly since I was 35 because of family history.
The stats say the average age is closer to 65. I think this group is skewed younger. -
dx with IDC in left breast and ILC in right breast on October 8, 2004. I was 41 and am now 42.
Stephanie -
I was 42 dx 10/04
