Hey Vivre I do have a daughter!  Blonde, petite & 20.  She finished uni last year as a geologist but decided to travel. Got a backpack and bought a ticket to Hanoi and is backpacking through Asia. I wish when I was 20 I had the guts to do that by myself.  My scare has taught her to live life to the fullest and don't put thing off cos you never know what's in the future.

What part of Australia is your son traveling to?

She sounds just like my son! A real vagabound. He is a college grad with a great job, but he just works so he can travel as much as possible. Last year it was biking in Central America. This year backpacking in Australia. I think he is just going to arrive and go from there, no plans. He tried to talk us into letting him study in australia. We told him we were not that naive, so he went to DC long enough to learn how to smooze, so it was worth it because he got one great job after another.  If you want to pm your daughters email, maybe she can give him some advice on where to go, as long as you warn her to keep her distance! LOL  He is a great guy, and good looking but I am so tired of seeing him hurt girls.

I will let her know.  I guess coming from USA he is more likely to say on the east coast. Anywhere in Queensland is great for backpacking and lots of jobs in the tourist areas of Gold Coast, Sunshine coast and tropical north. We live in West Australia, not so many take the trek aacross the Nullabour as pretty epensive to fly and with fuel is pricy to drive. Plus once you get to Perth it is a long way to anywhere, pity as Broome, Ningaloo and the Kimberleys are beautiful places.

I guess in Australia we are a series behind you in the USA but WTF with Greys Anantomy.

This weeks episode with the surgery on the pigs in the trauma ward  was way too much and down right cruel. I loved Izzy for standing up for animal rigths.

Hi ladies, from Crusty Chickensquirts, I am in the Fraser (East) Coast, Wide Bay area, which has just won three out of the top five places in a national listing of the 'Best 150 places not to miss visiting in Aus.'  I'm sure your son will have the time of his life if he finds his way to our area Vivre, as most of the tourist places here are heavily geared towards backpackers. Fraser Island is a must see and most bpkers seem to spend a few days camped there.  We are currently expecting a cyclone (hurricane) here in a few days, so I hope he has already passed thru' or is somewhere south of here. Commiserating hugs to all undergoing treatment,

    Sheila.
