Thank you for all of the well wishes

Ok Gals - I QUIT (for today anyway) the back, ribs and lungs are kindly telling me -Enough is enough. But I am proud of what I did accomplish, and I will get the laundry in, folded and put away by night fall. But for now it's off to shower, make fresh coffee and sit it the wonderful warm afternoon sun - and most likely nap. Thinking of you all in the snowy cold & ice.
XOXOXOXOXOXOX
-
Finally back! Now I'm too tired to clean. Plan B nap first work later. Sometimes just a little nap can do me wonders.
Cathi- I have an idea
How about we all come down to your place in sunny Florida and help you with those dust bunnies:)
Pam good for you for getting that pile done. It will feel even better tomorrow not to see it just laying there.
Coonie, Lefty, Barbe, Denise, Jeimieh, just giving a shout out to you all. Know we have a sick one or two and one at work, let us know how things go.
-
Hey! I fold one basket of laundry. I went shopping. Then I windexed 3 tables. I put the clean dishes away and the dirty ones in the dishwasher.
I AM A SAINT!
Thank God I have to work tomorrow so I can rest!
-
Laundry is off the line, folded and put away. I even ironed - I am weird, I LOVE TO IRON!!!!! Turn on light music, spray the heavy starch and steam away, I don't know why but I just feel so relaxed when I iron.
So you all come on down -plenty of dust bunnies to go around and I'll iron for everyone.
WOW Barbe, you are rockin.
I have decided to never ever again step out of my office (I work from home) with my glasses on - the rest of the house looks much better that way -LOL
-
ok hit the wall today. no motivation to get moving. but it is good to see all of you being busy as bees! will try for tomarrow.
Nancy I love the tip on the socks too.......
-
I got my nap done.....does that count?
Got a bill for $1300 for my mastectomy bras today! When I called they said it was something about my deductible. Then I called the mastectomy shop and she tried to tell me they aren't returnable even with the tags still on if the insurance doesn't wind up covering them. Called insurance again and they say I can use my flex spending card to cover the bras but to first pay them out of pocket (yeah right) and then they can reimburse me through the flex spending. The insurance lady then threw in "if the doctor gives you a letter saying the bras are medically necessary". I know it is just one of those grrrrrrr things but its one more thing to deal with.
Oh well, braving myself up to go downstairs and face my upside down kitchen. Hubby is on his way home not feeling well and I just know someone is going to want to eat sooner or later. Didn't I just feed the fam yesterday???????????
-
i sure wish someone would just come over and clean weekly
this site really helps me organize.. http://www.flylady.com/
i like working but am quite disorganized.. i like the suggestions and articulation of what needs to be done.
-
Hi ladies,
Please let me join. I need all the motivation I can get. I work full time and by the time I get home and get the kids 4 and 5 fed bathed and in bed I'm exhausted. But I plan to get my bed and bath rooms cleaned tomorrow and laundry for the week folded and put away.Maybe I can get my DH to do the toilets. I hate that.
Am having surgery Monday so want to get as much done tomorrow as possible so I can relax Sunday.
-
I too am housework challenged since dx. I am a SAHM so I have no excuse. If I feel like cleaning I choose the bathrooms since I have two boys with really bad aim. Can't stand the smell!
-
Ok I finally got motivated about an hour ago. Not to clean but bake a chocolate cake!!!!!
I will have a slice for everyone tonight. Tomarrow is a new day.
-
Denise,
Thanks so much for baking. I seem to always have time for that! I made a double batch of chocolate chip cookies today for my boys and we are eating them while we are watching the Celtics game. Go Celtics. Eat a piece of cake for me!
-
Welcome aboard to all of you, there is a saying that many hands lighten the load and although we are limited to our cyber world it does help to work a bit, check in here a bit and hopefully get a little more motivation to finish the job.
Which reminds me cyber pats on the back to all who accomplished their "one thing done" goal. Especially proud of Barbe who broke her own one thing rule and did a whole lot more. Way to go.
I had a very slow start to my well meaning aim at getting my kitchen done but am finally turning in with the cabinets clean on the inside, the floor mopped and counters wiped down. All the food contents are piled on my kitchen table but will aim for that job tomorrow the good Lord willing.
Even thinking this might be a good time to "de junk the snack cabinet". (What is happening to me)
Nite all, meet you back here tomorrow.
-
Well last check in for the night, big piece of cake ...
I just want to say thank you for being here.
Apple I will check out the site tomarrow thank you for shareing.
Makraz big slice of cake since we need to feed the boys!! have you tried the cherrios(sp) for aim?
Mom2two do NOT clean the snack cabinet, everything is ok but not the snack cabinet.
Cathi can you come over and iron for me?
Barbe you rock!!! and a sanit at the same time.. I love you idea One thing per day, I always thought I need to do more but you have shared your wise wisdom(sp) if only one thing gets done the it is a good day.
-
Good Morning Clean Team! I had to leave my kitchen project last night since I got such a late start. But I tried to make up for it by getting up this morning (5am) and getting started again. I can't tell you how impossible that pile looked to me. But finally 2 hours later and every pot, pan, plate and food item is put away and somewhat organized. Now I'm going to reward myself by going back to bed for a quick snooze before the kids wake up.
Its nice to come on here with others to chat, share and get a project done with support. So for those of you starting a Saturday project let everyone know here and then come back to fill us in on your project from time to time. We'll be cheering you on!
-
Hang on mom2two, you might just be raising the bar a bit too high! LOL
You seem to be in a nesting phase, are you soon to be mom2three?
-
Holy cow, mo2, I thought I was up early... you beat me by a mile and a half. Why on earth did you have to empty all of your cupboards? I thought one only did that when one moved or ( yikes ) a bug infestation. I had mice, so I did the bottom cupboards and scrubbed them and washed all items, but that is an old story.
My desk is cleaned off, ready to tackle the income tax forms. And a new ink in the printer. I will drop it off at the accountant on Monday. With all the medical deductions I am not confident I can do it properly myself. This lady is a former IRS auditor and she does know her stuff.
<<<<<<<<<<<<< TURN CLOCKS AHEAD TONIGHT >>>>>>>
One load of laundry is in, sloshing and whirling around. If nothing else, I will have clean undies.
-
I think I am going to buy a new desk today. That will make me clean up this one. My logic, my world! Welcome to it....
-
Wow, You girls are up early & working already!
Water is rusty here today- So that means No Laundry- For shame- LOL
Actually it is cause dh does it on the weekends.
Mom2two that is raisng the bar too high for us...Is this supposed to be Spring Cleaning like??
Cause It wont be Spring here for Months...So I really Shouldnt be starting yet.
I have no goals today...Ill have to come up with something I guess.
I like the Cake Idea Denise!

I tend to have days where I wake up between 4 and 5 am since I started the "pause" phase of life, but usually just get a snack if a migraine is involved and head back to bed. Just thought I'd use the wake up time more productively this morning.
No bugs lefty, but have always been one of those all or nothing people, so am probably over compensating for those long months I had to just sit and watch and not do much of anything. But I have to say it does feel good. Who would have thought working could be such a blessing. The added benefit is that I feel some of that lethargy falling away from me. I was in a no energy mood all the time. Maybe I was just getting weighed down by looking at all the mess.
I am also de cluttering as I'm going and will take the things somewhere others can use them. Our church has a ministry where every Saturday they let people come through this huge warehouse and they can pick out clothes, household goods, appliances, furniture, anything they might need and its all free to them. There are even toys for the kids. I always try to donate our extra things there because I like that they don't charge anything when people are in need.
-
Denise,
hahahaha on the cheerios! I did when they were 3 but now they are 13 and 10!!! Still have bad aim!! Gotta go and clean the bathroom.............
-
I can't call it housework, but I do have my medical copays, out of pocket expenses all in order of Date of Service and on (don't faint) -- 6 pages of spreadsheets. Separated by doctor, tests, labs, surgery, dentist, prescriptions, and Transportation. Whew, I am exhausted... Did I ever tell that my first real full time job was Statistical Typist ?
Off to get a shower and go to the St. Pat parade and meet up with one from another thread. 73 degrees is forecast for today's high. HUGS, Nancy
-
Nancy I think I need you to get me organized.
So far this morning I have folded 4 loads of clothes, sorted and put laundry on to wash (why do kids have to change 50 times a day?) Cleaned the kitchen from last night and made breakfast and lunch. Oh and picked up my neighbors garbage from my front yard that was blown over by the wind. Very windy today. Now if I can just get the girls to lay down for a nap. It still doesn't look like I've done a thing and I'm pooped! Can't even remember what I was planning to get accomplished today. Oh yea bed and bath. Breaks over!
-
Good morning...............
The choclate cake was good I'm going to have anothe piece with my coffee. Boy everyone sure is a early bird this morning I actually slept in to 10. The bedroom is the project of the day.
See everyone in a bit
-
Denise I slept in till ten the second time around
bkc you sound like you had a very productive morning (glad to hear my daughter isn't the only one that wants to change every five minutes) I think its time to teach her how to do a load herself once in awhile so she appreciates how much effort goes into it.
Got started on my living room (had no choice since all the excess from the kitchen cleaning went in there) and moved it out to the van. Now getting ready to go enjoy that warm Spring weather that has finally made its way to us. Tonight we are going to the Planetarium and see some stars for family time.
Cathi how about posting some pics of that ocean view for us. That part I do miss about Florida.
Makraz maybe you could get those target floats for them. There is something about guys and any kind of challenge.
-
Hey ya'll!!! Well, I haven't gotten a THING done in my house 'cause I've been working the last few days. Thought I was gonna be off today, but worked MOST of the day, so now I don't feel like tackling anything now. But.......look out next week! I've got alot in my mind that I want to get accomplished. Dusting the blinds will be the first thing. Hope you ladies are having a great Saturday.
-
Well just so I could do my "one thing" I am here in the office with dust cloth in hand wiping desk down as I type (not the top hutch - to much stuff to move), this is the worst room all the electrical stuff, just draws so much dust,
We cruised the beach today in convertible my hubby brought home (he is a car dealer) it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ate out on the intercoastal water way.
Denise seriously if you were close I would iron, I have actually had friends from my previous job bring me in dress shirts and pants to iron for their husbands for special occassions, I iron just about everything, I know I am weird. Just thinking about the crisp clean crease in a shirt sleeve or pants gives me the Willies!!!!!!!!!! LOL.
-
Coonie just looked at your main page and saw some great pics. Maybe we should think of having a picture here for cleaning inspiration each day. Everyone feel free to post away. I so would love to be able to post pics so anyone who can pm with "simple" instructions I will give it a try too.
Cathi you can have all my ironing. I put it at the number 1 spot for things I do not like to do. Maybe I should try the music thing with it. Remember when everyone use to iron the creases in their jeans?
It was so beautiful out today finally and I hope we have some of the same for tomorrow. I'm planning on just relaxing and spending time with hubby and the kids tomorrow so will take a break from my cleaning spurt but will hopefully meet everyone back here Monday to keep up the momentum. I"m just hoping the upstairs doesn't get messed up before I can see the whole thing done at once. You all know how that goes. I'm going to aim to get my blinds as well coonie so don't let me forget.
-
I dusted today, things that I don't think I've ever dusted before! It felt good to get all that junk out of the house. The heat in the winter really leaves dust everywhere! I can't wait for spring. It was about 6o in Boston today, really nice for March! Tomorrow 50's and then light snow n Monday......I need to go to the beach, badly!!!
-
Well I did get the bedroom and bathroom cleaned!!! The I ended up taking a long...long...nap. Tomarrow I will spend the day in the garden and give the house a rest.
Cathi I used to iron everything also. Had one of the big rolling irons...It made the job so much eaiser.
