Beth - I love both dresses, but my favorite is the 2nd - I LOVE IT and might have to check out our Macy's and see if they have it.

What shoes are you going to wear with these dresses? I know you mentioned purses, but no mention of shoes, unless I missed it.

I know the black and green/blue one is sold out on line. I didn't even know they made petites?

I'm wearing black tights and the black heels I wore to my engagement party. They are super high, and very comfortable. I tried everything on yesterday, and I think I'm going to wear the black and cream one. My backside looks really good in it, which is rare.

I was really impressed with the selection at INC. I was in the fitting room for an hour, and must have tried on 10 different dresses.

The 3 tops and jeans with pink stitching in the bum are super cute too. I can't wait to wear it all!

yes, on the website, I entered my size so I could see if the dress is in our store here. The selections were s/p, m/p, etc.

Jeans with pink stitching! oh my, I think I want those and haven't even seen them yet.

I looked on line to try to find a picture of the jeans, and the top they showed with them (I got that too, it was so soft and fit so well I couldn't resist) but I can't seem to find it.

It's a dark wash boot cut denim with pink stitching on the butt pockets and down the sides of the jean. The top is sort of this pink and blue tye dye (but not in that old school tye dye sort of way-- more like marble) and the shape of the top is great. Imagine if you took a strapless top and then added sleeves (or a shrug) to it, and then attached the sleeves with a few pink stitches to the strapless top... that's the shape. I'm sure there's a word for it that I just don't know.

Those dresses are  great, Beth.  Too bad the one with the green & aqua was sold out, but the cream & black is very classy, I think.  You'll look great, it'll go well with your coloring.  Have a wonderful time, by the way.

I LOVED the black and cream one too! Now what colour of pantyhose with that one? Black, nude, taupe? You're in NY so I know you still need them (I'm still wearing socks!).

    Opinions, ladies, please.

I saw these Minnetonka sandals in a catalog http://www.zappos.com/product/7392688/color/5557  and went looking for them online because I thought they'd be nice with shorts this summer.  And look better on the street than the Havaianas I word to death last year.

But, on the zappos site, I saw these http://www.zappos.com/product/7392675/color/7043  and thought they would look great with both jeans and skirts and casual dresses.  My only question is:  Are they too OL looking?

I'm in a shoe-buying mode.  Still have to find those red wedges for the red seersucker dress but am not shopping for those until the dress arrives and I'm sure it looks good and am keeping it.

Have started reading the book How To Have Style by Isaac Mizrahi and am liking it very much.

Abba, the second ones look sturdier which is why you may be asking OL looking. I go for comfort, not speed on shoes. People won't notice them if you have 'tude.

Tina - I like the first pair. JMHO.  But Barbe has a point, it is how you wear - not always what. I have the cutest pair of Michael Kor's high sandles (BOUGHT ON SALE), but they are so hard to walk in after a while so I wear flat sandles to work and then change into the high heeled MK sandles once I am safely behind my desk and just have to walk down the safely carpeted halls. Comfort has its benefits; one being able to walk confidently w/o the fear of falling on your face or arse.

Beth - have a safe trip and good time in Baltimore - hope the weather is nice for you.

All right, ladies, I just wanted to note a Fashionista occasion, which is Barbie's 50th Birthday, which is tomorrow, 3/9.  Let's face it, playing with Barbie was how a lot of us first got to practice being fashionistas.

I found a Retro Hippie-Chick Barbie a few years ago that I swear is dressed the way I dressed when I was 20!  And she has small breasts!!!!  And glasses on top of her head, which is where mine have been for about 40 years.  Weird.  So, now that she's 50, will we have a Hot Flash Barbie?  Here are a couple of photos for your amusement, sort of a side by side comparison, with me representing what Barbie might look like if they actually let her look her age:

    Kathi, that picture is adorable!!

I never heard of Blythe dolls, until I saw ad for Alex McQueen at Target~~~with a redheaded darling Blythe doll, used by permission. Of course, I ran to Target and eBay; found that there are mini-dolls in Japan. Apparently these were the rage in the 70's, one that passed me by?

The weird thing, Daff, with the above Barbie is that she is a new Barbie (or was a few years ago when I found her), created in answer to the fact that our former 70's youthful wardrobes are still being reincarnated for all the teens and twenty-somethings out there now.  I've seen clothes in the stores for the past five years or more that look exactly like the stuff I used to wear 35 years ago!  Everything old is new again.......

Doesn't it make you wish you had saved some of those darling things you wore when you were a BYT? And how hilarious some of us would look trying to get into them?

here's two pics from the Eleven event-- I know you can't really see the dress close up- but you get the idea.

One is with Vern Yip (the designer from Trading Spaces and Deserving Design) and the other is with Doug Ulman, the president of the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

The dress is very dramatic.  You look as if you were dressed perfectly appropriately.  The guy with no tie looks a bit sloppy, though.

How big a print do you think a 5'2" woman can handle?  I'd love to try on something like that dress and see how it looks.  Maybe I will get to go shopping soon.  Maybe.  First, the taxes.  That oughta keep me busy for the next 3 weeks at least.  Grrrrrrrr.

Kathi, you DO look kinda like a Barbie doll, in a good way!  The getup reminds me of one of Carly Simon's album covers.  You know the one, with the floppy-brimmed hat?

Hey...would any of you fashion ladies like to buy some Used----not hardly used at all-----Coach purses.  I've gotten several as gifts, and I'm just too picky I guess. Hate for them to just sit in a closet and not be used. Thought if I could get a little $$$ for them, maybe I can buy one I REALLY like. If you're interested, just let me know and I can take pics of some and put them on here. Or we could do it by PM......Love looking at this thread!!

I love the side by side barbie picture!!!! I laughed so hard watching dancing with the stars when Lil Kim called herself Black barbie (and she really does look like black barbie!)

Did you see the new barbie doll with the tramp stamp? I'm sorry, I mean the tattoo of kens name across her lower back, and she comes with three tattoos and a tattoo gun??? What happened to presidential Barbie?????

Tina I think that print in the dress I wore was very overwhelming at first.. I've always been afriad to wear bold prints b/c I'm so large on top, but after watching a marathon of What Not to Wear, I learned that I could wear a bold pattern as long as there was solid color in the appropriate places-- on that dress, it was solid black down the center and at the bottom. Paired with the black tights, and the overall look was great.

I think you've just got to go try on some bold prints and see what you like.

Now to the coach bags? Can we see some pictures? For my 30th birthday I got 4 coach bags!!!! I was amazed. However, some were purchased from Lord and Taylor, so my hopes of combinging all the bags together to purchase one big bag were dashed.

Instead, I traded in two of the bags at coach for a big bag, that I paid the difference on, and I exchanged the coach bag at Lord and Taylor for my favorite pair of boots that I just had re soled and had new heels put on, and I kept the one little summer bag (but I've never carried it... it's too small)  I'd love to see what you've got.

Ok Ladies.....I just took pics of ONE of the purses. I need to get my daughter to help with the others this weekend. This is several different angles of the purse. Also, I'm not sure what "name" is (I know Coach) but they all have a name:) I went to coach.com but couldn't find it on their website. My DH bought it for me for Christmas two years ago and I only used it ONCE. It's way too big for my style. any ideas on style name and price would be appreciated. ok.....here goes...

I call my bag the ABYSS. I need a big bag. I dont' know why I feel that I need a big bag. I just do.

There was once an article in some magazine that said the next time your friend keeps you waiting for lunch, or a shopping date, that instead of getting aggrivated as the minutes pass by, you should use the time to clean out your purse. It's amazing how much crap collects in them!!! I always laugh at all the gum or sucking candy wrappers at the bottom, but HEY, at least I don't litter.

I was thumbing through my purse the other day, and found lots of goodies. Bandaids, dental floss, pens, anti bacterial gel....  So I've got to ask you fashion mavens... What's in your purse???

So, what everyone needs is a little zipped bag to throw into the ABYSS that will contain all the detritus of daily living plus makeup.  I have a cute one; I'll take a pic later to show you.  Hey, I'll dump out the contents of my bag and photograph that, too.  I challenge everyone here to do the same and we can have a contest for the most stuff, the neatest, etc.  Of course, that's when we have nothing else to do, like work.  Embarassed
