Starting to see daylight and some semblance of organization finally. I so wanted to throw in the towel a time or two today but will stick with it till the closet is done and the bedroom is put back in shape. It is my goal to get this place organized so when the weather gets warm again I can be out with the kids and not spend those warm sunny days doing housework.

Going back in and hoping all of you trying to swim up stream with me, reach your "one thing done" goal today.

How are the rest of you coming along?

I also finished that Morning load of Laudry- I actually folded it too!

And Have some towels in the dryer now.

Need to unload the dish washer, Load it & clean the Kitchen counters off.

Today booked flights and room for trip to costa rica in april, this was more fun than yesterday!!!

Pam I like the line about not being able to clean the toilet, did it work? Can I borrow it?

Costa Rica definitly sounds like fun Denise.  Can we come with if we get all our work done? That would be some great motivation.

Ohhh....can I join this group? I need all the support I can get. I used to have someone help me, but when I was diagnosed with BC, it was time for her to retire, soooooooo I've been trying to keep it up ever since she left..I will gladly hear any tips, easy and faster ways of doing things, etc. I know one thing that I've recently started is buying one of those very large plastic totes. I don't fold towels towels towels towels......I just dump the clean towels in this big tote. My DH says that's great, why fold them, we're just going to unfold them. So that sure saves me some time. Thanks for letting me yack.....Tongue out

Yes,  Denise It did work!  LOL...My dh is a Sweetie & Cleans both Toilets.  He liked my Joke & I sometimes Remind him- LOL

Please Borrow it- Tell your family- One Women on the forum says theres a risk...

I actually got the whole Upstairs vacuumed too.  my ddh did the stairs & we worked on the Kitchen together.   She did the Upstairs bathroom.  Thats the most that has been done in our house in ages.

Coonie- thats why my 2nd load was towels...Nice & easy- I just hang them back up on the towel bars...The rest stay in a Laundry basket.

Dont know what I will clean tomorrow...I thought a few times today about pulling out some fabrics to sell on a List I am on...

mom2two- I hope you are not lost in your Closet.

Not lost,  just hijacked by the family for a bit. Would you believe after all that time cleaning the ungrateful lot expect to eat tooSmile  Actually I was wondering where everyone had gone. Glad to see everyone back on.

Coonie come on in and join us! We'd be glad for the encouragement and company.

Pam its too bad we can't train our dogs to do the housework. Deja and Sophie probably wouldn't complain half as much as the kids.

So cyber hugs and a job well done to everyone who got that one task done today. I"m thinking about tackling the kitchen but have to go visit a patient tomorrow for a home visit and then have physical therapy myself at 2pm, so am trying to think if its feasible. Think I'll start it at least. This is the most I've accomplished in ages so might as well go with the flow. Anybody else want to declare a "one thing" for tomorrow?

    Deja Does Dishes Very Willingly!

    I bet Sophie does too.

Your family really has some nerve expecting Dinner : )

I better stick with trying to go for a few things...Cause If Im on a roll I have to stick with it & I have nothing else to do tomorrow except go to the gym.

Good Morning! I have to almost clap my hands in glee as I wake up in a clean, organized bedroom this morning. Its been a long almost 5 months having to just make do as I could. Wanted to put in for those who read these posts but aren't there yet, your time will come too. Its a long road no matter the treatment options and its not the end of the world if the house is messy either. Like someone mentioned there are more important things in the world, but it is an aspect of life that we have to deal with. Personally I just like it clean so its time for me to start, just needed the comradarie and support of others to get my tired body going. I actually think it made me feel more energetic just getting things done yesterday instead of looking at it and feeling burdened down by what all needed to be done. (does that make sense?)

For those of you not yet able to clean, look back on Deanna's great post (dlb823) on the first page about a free house cleaning service for breast cancer patients. My city wasn't included but yours might be. (and no your house isn't too dirty to have them come clean it!)

Now for roll call, anyone out there joining me for that "getting one thing done today"? I'm declaring war on my kitchen. So I'll put that out there as my today goal.

How do we clean those wider faux wood blinds? Mine are white and as I have my windows open 9 months of they year, they are filthy! I'm afraid if I wipe them down I will stain the cords. They are also quite large, 6' or so. What do I do? Oh, what do I do?

Hey Barbe, that's what I have too. Some of mine are the wood color though, and the others are white. I just spray some windex on rag and wipe 'em down...........slot by slot..........whew.... it does take time, but they look much better in the end :)

Oh no! coonie and barbe now you've reminded me of another thing I keep passing by and thinking I'm gonna clean you one day......... Oh well I'll put that on my list soon but for today I'm focusing on the kitchen, I will do the kitchen, I will.......

P.S. I got my teen out of bed (and it isn't even noon yet!) and am having her clear everything out of the cabinets so I can clean (hee hee hee). Told her she could go back to sleep after she was done.

Ok my dear cyber friend Mom, I am joining today - UGH, can't put some of this stuff off much longer. I have just washed and hung out to dry a huge load of whites. I have dusted my living room (even moved things) and I WILL COMPLETELY dust the entire house.  Oh my this does not sound like fun at all (LOL) .

I got thru 1/4 of the my bedroom the other day and then started running a fever.  I actually had to go to th doctor's to find out what way going on with me and I have the flu.  So once I feel better I will be back at it but right now I feel like a truck ran over me.  Promise to myself I will never miss the flu shot again. :(

Okay ladies now we have some Florida sunshine with Miss Cathi joining usCool Welcome to the mean clean team. (Maybe we need to come up with a catchy name).

Don't you hate doing whites! Thats always the biggest load of laundry it seems and takes the most time to fold.  (Inwardly reprimanding myself for complaining about laundry. changing that too "oh what fun you are going to have getting that laundry done!Wink)

Well dd just came grumbling up the steps so guess her part is done, mine turn now. (Theres a reason people let teens sleep late...)

Hi, can I join?   There is a website:   Flylady.net.   If you register they will send you email reminders and it gets a bit overwhelming at first.   However, when I was getting ready to move from my house after 36 years to an apartment 250 miles away, it was a life saver. There are various links on the website for getting it organized  AND, remember it did not get this way overnight, so it wont get undone overnight.

The basic idea is to set a timer for 15 minutes.  You can do almost anything for 15 minutes.  I got two book cases cleaned off, and they will go out by the dumpster when I snag the maintenance man to take them for me.   One pile of books if for my son to go thru, the rest will be donated.   I put my yarn and craft supplies in a suitcase.

One product I just love for my white kitchen counters is Magic Eraser.  Would using Murphy's Oil soap be good for wooden blinds?  Fortunately I do not have them.   One day I had so much stuff lying around I thought of getting out the leaf blower and making one big pile...  LOL...

Dont forget to turn your clocks ahead Saturday night... one less hour to get the place cleaned up...   Hugs,  Nancy

Sorry Jaimieh that youre not feeling well. I heard on the news that its making the rounds in our state too. Funny it should be hitting so late in the winter season. My mom did take the shot and she had some awful respiratory infection a couple of weeks ago anyway so you never know.

Last night I had a really bad upset stomach-bathroom runs & all :o

I thought maybe it was from cleaning.  LOL

    I seem fine today.

Jaimieh- Hope you feel better soon!

Ok- So this morning Im not feeling very motivated...Im thinking - we have to do this 2 days in a row?

I think I will have a goal of cleaning part of our Bedroom.  I have a Big Clothes pile on the dresser- but its pretty easy to take care of.

Socks are a big problem in this house...We have way to many...And they are always just sitting in a basket waiting to get matched up...So many dont have matches.

Thanks mo2, I had not thought of that -- and a charitable deduction also.   Speaking of deductions... I am plowing thru 48 pages of printouts for my medical bills and copays, out of pocket expenses.

My dr would not give the flu shot until mid November because of the high incidence of flu in March. The shot is only effective for a certain time period, I think.   Drink lots of fluids, rest, and speedy recovery.

Yumm on a donut with my coffee.  IF anyone get ambitious enough to do windows, I read if you clean the inside up and down, and the outside back and forth, you can tell where the streaks are when  you are done.   I solve that problem by using sheer liners.

Gastrointestinal cleaning too huh Pam. That may be taking the cleaning thing a little too farSmile Seriously though hope you are feeling better today.

One time I tossed a group of mismatched, missing hard to find lot of socks my daughter had. Bought a new pack and started all over. Made it so much easier. Sometimes we all need that new start.

Put a couple of those mismatched, orphan socks in your car.  Use when pumping gas, then throw away.  Also good for wiping off windshield.

I have to run do a home visit so have to stop where I'm at for a bit. Feel free to jump in and root for each other from time to time. Motivation goes along way.

Lefty those are some handy ideas for the mismatched socks. Thanks.

Detoured but will focus on that kitchen when I get back. (Which considering everything from the cabinets is piled on the kitchen table now, there is no turning back)

AH Yes Fla Sunshine, I should be out basking in it, but I will this weekend -  no housework for me then.  I am faltering a bit, don't think I'll get all the big dusting done, where has all the energy gone??? But not stopping yet,  off to find more dust bunnies.
