brain cyst - help high anxiety!

Options

Just had my baseline Brain MRI and they called to say no Cancer as they expected, although they found a small collection of fluid in frontal area of brain that is NOT CANCER but most likely a brain cyst.
Although I am thankful for no brain mets currently, I am very anxious about a cyst, has anyone else had this finding on their baselines or know anything about them?

I am having an anxiety attack!!

I think we have cysts throughout our bodies and we just live with them without ever even knowing they are there.  I had an mri on my abdomen and was told I had  a cyst in my kidney.  I freaked and they said that  it is not unusual;  they have to report it because is is there, but most of us have cysts.  I would just be happy you do not have brain mets!

I don't have any answers but I can imagine you are going crazy right now with anxiety!

I have had numerous cysts in my body, I just had one removed from my forehead 2 years ago and then it grew back, so had it removed again 3 months ago.  I have also had them in my arm and back.  If it is a cyst I wouldn't worry about it because it won't turn into cancer if it is B9 - in fact I have to assume if it is a cyst it is b-9 because I have never head of a cyst being cancerous.  But then again I don't know everything - LOL.  If I am wrong, someone correct me please!

The cysts I have had were sebaccious cysts so they were hard - they weren't round but every uneven with tentacles, etc.  I have not had one that was what you are saying is a "collection of fluid" because to me that would feel more like a hemotoma?  Is that what it feels like?  Spongy?

They said it is definitely B9 but am worried now as cysts can grow, just wondered if anyone out there has any experience with this?

I don't have a cyst but are you having any kind of problems like headaches or dizziness.  If no symptoms and not cancer try to not drive yourself crazy over it.  there is too much other stuff to drive us crazy.  God bless you and please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.

No symptoms at all, they said they would just do another MRI in 3 months to see if grows at all. Apparently you can have cysts your whole life, and some grow some dont. It seems like Hell to have to wait for 3 months for something like that!

If it grows and becomes bothersome they can shoot it with cortizone (steroid) which will reduce it in size.  I had to have this done on one of my cysts so that I wouldn't have a huge scar when they removed it.  Typically I don't worry about them unless they are in an area that is bothersome like the one on my forehead that was at my hair line so everytime I brushed my hair, I brushed over the lump and it was a "tendernous" issue moreso than an aesthectic issue.

Why did you have a brain MRI?  Is it part of you treatment plan or did you notice the cyst?

i had a brain scare with an MRI..

it was the worst feeling  of helplessness and anxiety.  it turned out to be nothing.  I hope you don't worry yourself needlessly .. it really is probably nothing to be concerned about.

Apple and mawhinney, they forgot to do a baseline MRI as my ONC dosnt like PETS he does CT's and Brain MRI's so it was a baseline. It showed "no evidence of metastatic disease" but a small fluid area likely an arachnoid or meningeole cyst.

One Once says dont worry about it 20 percent of us have these and we are walking around with them and don't know we have them because we don't have MRI's the other ONC says repeat in 3 months.
