Lung Mets

I've had cough for 6 months now.  Found 4x4 mass in my right lung, upper lobe. Lots of pleural effusion (fluid).

Just did Bronchoscopy today, and aspiration of fluid (did that too last week).

Will be getting oxygen tomorrow. Can't breathe.  Even just walking around Costco leaves me out of breath.

Taking Codeine to help control the cough.  Ribs fractured.

Will know results for sure by Tuesday the latest next week.  But highly suspicious the cancer is back.

Who has lung mets?  I want to read threads about lung mets.  Can you please direct me?  Or answer if you have lung mets.  I'd like MORE information.  I'd like to know what you're going through.  What to ask, etc. etc.  How long will I survive?  What chemo?  Is it livable?

I just turned 40 two weeks ago.  First diagnosed IIIB September 06.  Just finished Herceptin last June.  Want to enjoy life!  Couging is soooooo draining. So tiring.  Now I get massive headaches.  Anything better than Codeine?

Can't wait to connect with you girls.

Thanks,

Myra

    Dear Myra,

I'm so sorry about your current discomforts.  I know how prolonged coughing can be so exhausting - my mother has had chronic coughing for years, although doctors can't find anything every time she goes for thorough check ups.  She's contantly coughing and I know it's taking a toll on her energy and it does get painful at times.

I hope you can find some good info and resources either in here or from your medical professionals.  My prayers are with you.  Hang in there.  I know there's not much I can say to help your situation, so all I can do is send you loving positive energies your way via cyber space.

    keep us posted!

Myra, you can actually get a codeine "hangover" when you take it a lot. Try to intersperse it with iboprophen. Good luck!
