I finished my treatments (Chemo. and Rads.) before Thanksgiving 2008. Before starting treatment, I was given a CAT scan. I just had another CAT scan last week. This was aout 1 year from the first one. The scans were compared. No cancer seen ... :-) . BUT, since they were looking at my breast cancer, they failed to notice the very small spot on my lung during the first CAT scan (Prognosis: cancer - possibly from second hand smoke). The good news, is that by my having the Chemo. and Radiation treatments, it got the lung cancer spot, too. It shrunk. I got a 2 FER (2 for the price of 1). How lucky is that? Since I don't smoke, if I hadn't been diagnosed and undergone treatment for the breast cancer, the lung cancer might have progressed a LOT further before I was diagnosed. It's funny how something as awful as getting breast cancer diagnosed and treated MIGHT have saved me from a bad case of lung cancer.
