My favorite smoothie recipe is pretty simple.
1 cup Vanilla flavor Almond Milk
2 Small / Medium Bananas (love them)
1/2 cup Frozen Blueberries (the frozen berries give it a good texture)
2oz Mangosteen
Blend!
-
1 Cup non-fat Vanilla Yogurt
8 Strawberries
10 Blueberries
Splash of Orange Juice
Add ice and blend.
Any fresh or frozen fruit works well...

I posted it on the other thread, but for anyone who missed it:
All measures are approximate (i.e. it's good if you're even close...)
Base: 4 oz of unsweetened organic apple juice + 4 oz. of green tea
Add: 1/2 cup of organic blueberries, 1/2 cup of organic strawberries, 1/3 cup of organic raspberries, and a very ripe banana if you have one.
Blend until smooth. Makes 2 tall glasses (one for you and one for a friend).
I guess yogurt would make it "smoother" but it's excellent as I describe.

carrots, apple, brocolli, spinach, cranberry juice, water and whey protein powder. The apple seems to really balance out the brocolli. Sometimes banana added, sometimes a little yoghurt, sometimes some kale. Trying to get as much greens as possible, but use the fruit for flavor enhancement.

Another less berry-ful one is equal measures of frozen organic strawberries and bananas into about 4 oz of unsweetened organic apple juice. A bit of orange juice doens't hurt either.
That makes a single serving if you only do 1 or 2 bananas and 1/2 cup of berries.

Here's mine:
1/2 cup of frozen mixed berries
1 banana
1/2 cup low fat milk
1/2 cup orange juice
Not much organic foods available in my rural town.
Timothy - I will have to try your veggie one. I am trying to do more greens also.
I have been thinking of purchasing a juicer any suggestions on what any of you prefer?

We have a (Jay the ) Juiceman Juicer and a Black and Decker heavy duty blender (just got it at Walmart on clearance). The juicer is great, but you don't get the fiber and pulp, which it separates out. That, along with the loss of fiber, might also be a loss in nutritional value as you are losing everything but the juice. The juice itself doesn't store well, so its a make it and drink it proposition. Even in the fridge it settles out. That rules out making a large batch and storing it while you consume it. As well, the juice machine is a lot of work to clean with its many parts. I by far prefer the blender and think you get more goodness consuming the whole article.

My husband makes it and I don't have much (enough to take my pills)
about 1+cup non-fat plain organic yogurt
about 2-3 T of concentrated pineapple juice
a few slices of dried mango soaked overnight (after spending lots of time in Brazil where smoothies were: 1-2 mangos, 1-2 small papayas, 1-2 little bananas and a little yogurt at least a little mango helps!) or 1/2 -2/3 banana
a handful of frozen from the summer organic strawberries or raspberries
some water (the best water in the world - our tap water, YUMMY!)
It makes almost a blenderful and I have a little, he has more and then saves the rest for mid-morning snack.
