Sorry guys!! I am late getting into this thread but..... I highly recommend the Eat Clean Diet. It is great for weight loss and it is ALL NATURAL. That is the premise. No chemicals, perservatives, etc. Just straight, fresh food. www.eatclean.com

Flaxseed is good for you and the Omega 3's also. You can buy a Women's Essential Oils, Barrleans brand in the refrigerator at health food store. This really helps with the hot flashes.
I agree with Anne eat what you want just take smaller portions and wait 20 minutes so that your stomach has time to get the message to your brain that you are satisified. Remember, we live in American and we can eat anything we want just about any time we want. (This is was an Ah-Ha thought for me)
I can't recommend enough Brian Wansink book Mindless Eating. Awareness is so important. Also if you deny yourself certain foods because they are 'bad for you' you are going to have diet deprivation blacklash. So that when you finally do eat that 'bad for you food' you end up going overboard.
There are no bad foods, unless you are allergic to them. Just cut the portions down. You can always get more

I'd like to put in a plug for Wansink's book. It's based on good science.

Been following the "clean eating" diet for two years now! Not really a diet, but a way of life. I love Tosca Reno's book, as Lisa mentioned above, The Eat Clean Diet!

I looked into flax seed also. For more info go to pubmed.gov and search author Lillian Thompson and her research group in Toronto- she has done many studies re: flax seed and breast cancer. I have been trying to include some "cancer fighting" foods in my diet each day- green tea, flax seed, broccoli sprouts, high antioxidant fruits/veg (blueberries, pomegranate, acai juice etc), organic yogurt; with limited fat, soy and sugar intake. Even if ends up did not help prevent recurrence, I feel a lot better with more energy. I find a splurge now and then is good for the soul too(whereas before diagnosis it was always all or nothing for me when it came to diet/exercise)

I'm no expert on diets but I have a suggestion for myself and for all of you:
If you cut only 100 calories daily from your diet (you choose which 100) and don't replace it with something else LOL, you will lose over 10 pounds a year. I guess that is pretty doable unless you have lots and lots of weight to lose.
Let's see. I am going to try to drink my tea with no sugar and cut the sugar from my coffee. Then, instead of a huge helping of Cheerios for breakfast, I will have just a normal serving. Sounds like a plan.
