Let's all connect our Wii exercise program!

Still doing my wii FIT exercises and really notice a difference. I feel excellent! May have lost 2 pounds, and I'm not supposed to lose weight!!! (Doing rads) Unfortunately exercising can change your body shape a bit even if you don't actually lose any pounds (muscle is denser). Went shopping and was bummed they didn't have any pants in size 18. So tried on size 16 and they were HUGE. Jeepers. This was a sale at a high end store so I guess the sizes are different anyway. I could actually get the 8s on but could not zip them. They were out of 10s and 12s. 12 might have fit. i did get a really cute jacket for $5 and an adorable sweater for $9.

Ok, I set up the Wii Fit, passworded my Mi, and exercised. My test score was an age of 60, which is probably because I'm still taking things very slowly and the Wii Fit wouldn't register with my boot on so I had to take it off. I did some yoga and strength training, not a lot, but I earned enough to unlock another game. Tomorrow is another day. It's fun.
-
Margo - The instruction booklet suggests not wearing shoes but I have before and no harm done. If the soccer/dodge ball game is unlocked it will be under the balance games.
A lot of the games you have to earn and unlock. Some of the games such as dodge ball, tight rope, jump robe have advanced games which are even harder......YIKKES!
Jasmine - Any luck on playing dodge ball?
Annie - I noticed my Wii weighs me about 10 pounds lighter too.....I kind of like that!

The soccer game is too funny for words. I keep getting smacked by the shoes. My poor little mii is probably brain damaged now.
-
Ok, now that I've just had lunch, guess I will go do the Wii for a bit. Mine wouldn't register with the shoes on but maybe I'll try it today.
-
hahaha, brain-damaged from flying shoes and panda bears!
I haven't been doing my program because of my Wii-knee issue, but since I have been eating my emotions (see the "OH MY FREAKIN' G*D" thread....), I have gained a substantial amount of poundage since I had to stop. GRR!!!!!!
Just be sure to STRETCH before you do anything!
My Wii age started out at 46 (I'm 34), and I had finally gotten it down to 34 ONE TIME when I had to stop.
Fatness sucks, just like cancer can! Deb
-
Maybe my poor little mii can apply for wii disability.
-
BAH HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
-
Ok...I'm not here much anymore, but thought I'd pop on for a few minutes before I left work
So, my wii is balance board is collecting dust under the end table and after reading this thread, I'm determined I'm getting that back out! I just had to have it (ordered it from ebay before the holidays) used it a few times with friends and promptly put it away and forgot about it. All of you have given me the incentive to try to get back into shape - thank you !
-
Whoopsiedoodles LOL! I tried soccer today and now my Mii has a headache - it's so discouraging when I see my little Mii sigh and hang her head. I did get enough points to unlock two more games today. I tried tightrope, step, and soccer today. What gets me on the tightrope is I almost walk off the Wii so haven't quite got the hang of that one. It is fun though.
Jaz, Wii disability - love it.
NYgirl, I'm not on much either but I find myself checking this thread every day to see who is competing with me. If you seriously are not going to use your Wii, I bet I could sell it for you. I know a lot of people who want one and I guess it's still hard to get.
-
Geez, I got this thread going and then forgot to check in!!!
I have been doing wii nearly every day - I missed two days tho and the wii didn't let me by without a reprimand: "Been too busy to exercise, eh, hotmama?" My mii is named "hotmama" LOL.
My favs are yoga, balls tip into hole, penguins, and step. I am really good at the Advanced Step but have no one to go up against, as my son has abandoned his daily exercise routine with it. Too many planks, LOL! I am slow and steady and still doing it. I am bad at the penguins, but it is so cute I always keep up with it. I think the hula hoop was too much for me in the beginning. I got aches and pains in my low back so laid off for a couple days. Now I do only two of those each day.
I really feel better and much stronger, altho this may not last as I am on Day 6 of 33 days of rads. I am woeful about that, not cheerful at all, I hate rads!!! It is the least awful of the treatments I have undergone but I'm just not fond of it, what can I tell you! Maybe I'll picture those panda heads as all the stuff I hate about cancer!!! Ha ha ha.
I'm definitely better toned and I can feel I'm not slumping anymore, my core is holding me up for a change. I haven't lost any weight yet but I went to the store and the size 18 pants were way too big for me, I took a 16. So my body shape is changing a little.
I am trying not to lose weight on account of radiation, you're not allowed to lose.

Should we share our scores on various games to compete? I'll share mine with you all tomorrow, I'll write them down, ok?
One thing I can share, I am only up to Level 7 on the Balls in Holes thing. Well once I got to 7 but the best I could do the last two days was 5.
-
Unique, how long have you been doing the Wii? I only started this week and my scores are not good at all! Once I figure out how to do an exercise, I keep at it for a few minutes. I've only been doing 20 minutes a day but need to bump it up a bit.
-
Hi Margaret and all ~
I have been doing mine for 19 days.
Your scores will get better as you go along. Don't stress it, just suddenly you'll see things going up. Scores are just to add some interest, I don't think it matters how well you do an exercise, you're getting the benefit!
Here are my scores for today:
Hula Hoop: 227 rounds
Table Tilt: 70 points (Got thru the 7th level finally, for the 2nd time!)
Can anyone beat me?
-
Ha ha ha, I can't beat you.......I did the super hula hoop today and balance is not my forte - it had the nerve to ask if I trip when I walk (I do). I did 1/2 hour today and did the hula hoop, the soccer one, yoga, step and a few others. I actually broke a sweat today. I didn't time it, but are those really 1 and 2 minute exercises?
-
Margaret ~ It has asked me if I trip also! Altho not as much this week LOL! I think it times your actual minutes exercising, minus the talk, etc.
-
Okay Gals!!!
Here are my top scores:
Table Tilt - 96 points
Advanced Table Tilt - 60 points
Skiing - 29.56 seconds
Penguins - 80 points
Advanced Step - 510 (this my best thing)
Soccer Heading - 107 points (doing better tonite)Can anyone beat me?! Give it a try!
-
Last night my son and I played together - he would get on and try to beat my score, then I would get on and try to beat his. It was so much fun!
-
You can click on your bank and it will show your total hours. Bank changes color for every 10 hrs. I have over 20 hrs so bank changed colors on me again. Not telling what color 20 hrs is.... will keep it a surprise for you. Also the different stamps you collect for your calender - #8 stamp is the best!
Ok Annie here are a few of my balance scores
Basic soccer - 284
Advanced soccer - 155
Penguin - 101
Tight rope basic - 53:58 - advanced - 1:12.73 expert - 1:47.30
Ski Jump - 377 ft
Bubble - beginner - 30:21 advanced - 46:11
Table tilt - beginner - 109 advanced - 97
Will post aerobics scores later.
It is fun when you have another person to compete with.
Girls take some aspirin and start head butting those soccer balls.

Yay! It's an official "Wii Love Our Body" Club now!
Thank you, Unique, for keeping the thread going when I was out of commission with my "Wii-Knee."
-
Wingirl, you got me beat on the soccer! But I'll see if I can catch up. I have the gold bank for 10+ hours, can't wait to get to the 20 hours ...
-
PS, I took a photo of my mii and made it look better in Photoshop. She had long hair when my son first made it, but I shortened it up for post-chemo regrowth. (About 1" now)
-
My advanced step score is 526!!
-
Okay, here are the winning scores so far -
Bubble Beginner - winggirl 30:21
Bubble Advanced - winggirl 46.11
Hula Hoop Beginner - unique 306
Penguin - winggirl 101 fish
Ski Jump - winggirl 377 feet
Ski Slope - unique 29:56 secs
Soccer Basic - winggirl 284 balls
Soccer Advanced - winggirl 155 balls
Step Beginner - unique 494
Step Advanced - unique 526
Table Tilt - winggirl 109
Table Tilt Advanced - winggirl 97
Tightrope Basic - winggirl 12:73 secs
Tightrope Advanced - winggirl 1:12.73 secs
Tightrope Expert - winggirl expert - 1:47.30 secsI am sure you gals can bump me off soon, dunno about winggirl, she's gonna be tough to beat! Let's see who's the queen of each category at the end of each week, okay?
-
We also purchased the wii fit , really love it . I wear ankle weights and wrist weights so when running or any of the exercises adds a little resistance in your workout.
-
Your scores are so much better than mine. I swear my board groans when I get on it. I did the running yesterday and was worn out! I think Winggirl is going to be the one to beat, although I am right behind Unique in the step - I used to do step years ago but right now I'm nursing my recently operated on right foot and my weak left ankle so I do things less strenously now, but I've done it every day for almost a week now.
-
Margaret -
Pay no attention to the scores unless you have gotten into a groove and need to raise some excitement. Just enjoy until you're ready.
I look forward to hearing what areas you like best.
My favs are yoga and aerobics. I do balance too, though. I avoid the strength area because I have arthritis.
-
Just did 50 minutes, didn't beat any records, either mine or winggirls.
Just had fun and got some exercise!
Just a question about the step. There's a little glitch with the purple feet - the miis step up sideways but step off with toes front. The foot pics show step up sideways and step off sideways. How are you gals doing it?
To get more of a workout, I lift my leg REALLY high on the kick, either whole leg or just the knee up. I also wave my arms in the air instead of clapping (hoping to ward off lymphedema).
-
I also march during the no step parts ...
I can't do run because of my neck hurting, guess I just have very little cartilage left in the spine to prevent pain from jarring, so I make sure to get really pooped from the step, which is less stressful to my spine and joints.
-
Thanks for this thread, it's been fun reading your posts. I bought the Wii Fit on a whim while out shopping a few days ago and was surprised and pleased to find this thread today. I had my 11 year old set it up for me. Today we did Yoga, ski racing & jumping, balance balls, soccer and tightrope. I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants, Hmm maybe I shouldn't have been drinking that beer! My son duly reprimanded me. I felt I deserved it after skiing, for real, all day! I'm a pretty good skier and I really stunk on the Wii skiing, what a hoot! My son is a ski racer and he was terrible too!
I also bought some pilates stretch bands which came with an instruction booklet that has some great stretches for arms and shoulders, which should be good for getting movement back after I have surgery on 3/9.
