April 2006 - 63 yrs with bone mets from the start. My aunt had BC around age 70. Arimidex kept me NED for almost two years. Just had a PET scan and Tamoxifen has kept me NED for almost a year.
-
38-extensive bone mets from the get-go. I'd been going to doctors complaining about the pain (that I eventually learned was my spine crumbling from the cancer) for a number of years. Nobody ever looked any further than their prescription pad; most of them decided I was "depressed" and wrote out scripts for anti-depressants before I'd finished telling them what I was feeling.
I was dx'd 3 years ago yesterday.
-
just turned 40 dx (started mammos at 34)
43 mets.
-
35 (stage 2b...found lump on my own, was sent for first mammo) - 2000
41 (mets...again found on my own & took me months to convince docs) - 2006
My sister was 31 and pregnant when I was first diagnosed. After she had the baby and stopped breastfeeding, she had her first mammogram and has had one every year since. She turned 40 last October. Her mammo's are covered by her insurance because of the age at which I was diagnosed.
-
49 Stage 1-2
54 Stage 4 mets to liver and bone
-

I was told my daughter should start mammos at 30 since Im the first ever to be dx'd with bc....yaaaaaa, what a gift to give to your kids....I was also told to talk with my son and to tell him how important it is for him to do self exams, I know its rare for male bc but why take the chance? Please dont forget your sons in this.....

FYI, several docs told me to have my daughter get mammo's ten years before she becomes the age I was dx'd. Moot point now...she's had a lumpectomy at age 25 that was B9!!
-
I was 46.
I found the thickening and lump in my breast during a self-exam. Hadn't had a mammo - was going to go in about 3 months.
The onc said my daughter should start mammos at 35. She is 14 now and I pray the technology will continue to improve so all of our sons and daughters will be spared.
