Needing some help to find a article...

Options

In the past few months while being diagnosed & going through treatment I came across an article that said that lactating women should be treated no different then non lactating women when making a diagnosis. This included core biopsy. This was a recommendation by Health Canada.

I cna't locate the article. I am currently working to make my hospital enforce this recommendation. They refused to do my biopsy becuase I was breastfeeding. This refusal made my cancer go from a stage I to a stage II due to delay in diagnosis.

I can't find the article now & they want the article to support my claims.

Have any of you seen something like this on line or can you help me locate it? Please it might help another woman get diagnosed earlier.

Thanks

I've looked through the Health Canada website and through the Canadian Clinical Practice Guidelines and I can't find any reference to this.  I did a search on their site too and nothing popped up.  I'll continue to look.

My radiologist STRONGLY ADVISED me against having a core biopsy becuase of breastfeeding. He said because the risk of breast fissure was too great. I was told to go home & wean my baby then come back. I was also told that I HAD to wean on both sides not just one. I contacted Dr. Jack Newman who told me NO just wean on one side if I want but that he did not feel weaning was necessary at all tha breast fissure risk is minimal & my radiologist needs to be educated. My tumor grew 2 cms in the 6 week waiting period. Thus my stage increased. I don't want this to happen to another woman so I am trying to put a stop to it.
