Pardon the pun.  I couldn't resist.

    Yes, my cheeks are chapped.

I'm putting the thong up on ebay.   Gently worn.  Maybe some panty-sniffer (oh, did I say that?) will buy them for $1000.00.

Hi, girls.  Just a quickie.  I also fell on ice yesterday, didn't break anything, but landed so hard on my back that I literally knocked the piss out of me & lay there on the ground by my car howling for a couple of minutes.  Had to go home & change then go the office & fill out an employee accident report because I was working at the time, then waste 3 hours in the ER to get my osteopenic pelvis & hips X-rayed.  Just.  Shoot Me.  At least I get to have my hair done tomorrow.

    Raye, another cute avatar photo.

omg K.... everyone is falling... after I fell and messed up my hand, my dad fell, followed by three of my friends. My morning started out getting my car towed off the driveway with 2 flats... WAHOO. The good news? MY TREADMILL ARRIVED!!!  It should be put together this weekend, which means this is the end of me being over weight, under motivated, and living a sedentary lifestyle. I am so stoked, and I fully give you permission to hound me weekly about how much I've used it.

The turning point was giving away a ton of my jeans that are too small for me. I donate clothes all the time, and let my friends go through everything first, then to charity... but I've never donated jeans. I just love jeans so much, and while I don't spend mega bucks on them, I definitely wouldn't say they were cheap either.

Well, my friend gained weight, and she was so upset that I gave her four pairs of jeans, that she has to hem cause she's 3 inches shorter then me, so I knew I was never getting them back, and told myself- why should I care? I can't fit into them anyway....

well, enough is enough. And I know its easier to sit here and type then actually get on the treadmill and walk, but for the last week every day I've just envisioned myself running on the treadmill (hoping not to give myself a black eye with the huge boobs) and what it would finally feel like to just be able to run. So indulge me, as I attempt to reclaim my sexy.

So victorias secret is calling the old Tonga's (like a thong only better) Cheekies.... I guess to attract the younger ladies...They are much nicer on the tush then a typical g string.

Oh, Kathi doll - how are you feeling? No serious damage I hope?  Thanks. That avatar pic was taken a night when I had indulged in a few Mic Ultra's and atttached clip-on hair extensions to my hair. Notice the pjs - very tres chic, non? As you frenchy speaking girls like to say.

Excited to hear about the tready, Beth! One thing I do that helps me keep on track, is keep a log of my mileage. You can even keep of log of the time spent on the treadmill.

Last night I took my first Yoga class. OMG, it was wonderful. While some of the poses were difficult, I walked out the studio feeling as though I had just had a masssage.

Raye, I also take a yoga class once a week. I wish it was more frequent but for a free class I take it when offered. I did purchase a couple of $2.00 videos on yoga but it was a power yoga, not the style of yoga class I take. I also purchased a book with a dvd 'Holy yoga" and it is more my speed of yoga, slow and medatative but had different poses than we do in class.

Beth, One group at a local church had a walking club and they kept track of the miles they walked (either treadmill or on a track) and had a map with several areas marked that they were walking to and celebrated everytime someone reached the marked destination. (I think they walked around the Holy Land)

I just got home from my first yoga class (did private w/ amazing woman) I am doing restorative. I found it hard to find someone to help w/adapting poses during class sessions.

I never realized the yoga is so much more than "exercise"- different levels, types, philosopy, way of life etc.  This is so perfect because I want to study yoga, not just go thru motions Really cool

Beth- if you go onto America on the Move site, you can track miles and "hike" different routes. Can also do w/any exercise- it will convert minutes to steps. There are probably other sites that do the same; I use to have a map of US and walked to all kinds of places- maped routes w/highlighter.

Be well and SAFE everyone...no more falling. May have to put us all in a bubble!

Does America on the Move work with jumping rope?

I've done yoga on and off all my life but I never got into the philosophy and all that.  I was just interested in the exercise.  It does feel great when done correctly.  Very relaxing, too.

Right now the heck with exercise; I just want a nap.

Tried on a dozen bras today~~nothing looks right yet. Too much pooch under arms and my back looks FAT!! (I am a size 6, but lately, with exchange, it seems I have morphed to an 8 on top)

I tried the shaping camisoles, too.....don't work any better than old ones I have. I will try V's Secret today....

Well, you sure are cute, though.

Daff, did you just have an exchange or recon?

Land's End catalog came today and they have summer shifts for $19.50.  They are "sleeveless solid refined jersey tunic coverup" but sure look like a dress to me.  Someone was asking about dresses.  Check those out!  I think you could even wear a tissue-T underneath to make it a little more presentable for shopping, etc.  The price is right and it comes in lots of colors.  I'm thinking of getting a couple for myself.

They have a cute, heeled espadrille, too.  I think I may spring for the orange!

Oh, Daff, I was thinking of you the other day because I know you like butterflies and I saw the most glorious, sumptuous fine china called Butterfly Garden that was designed by Versace.  OMG.  It's fabulously expensive, of course, but I would love to own just one plate so I could hang it on the wall and drool over it.  Are any of the rest of you complete suckers for beautiful dishes??  I swear I have to force myself from entering HomeGoods sometimes.  Sigh.

    aaaah fashion challenges.

now that i'm missing a whole boob, have a scar on my neck from a biopsy, never know what temperature I'm going to be.. flamin hot or friggin cold,  that, and having 1/2 inch long hair, i don't know what to wear.

i have to totally dress up to perform in public on the wkends.. 3 times

should my scarf match my clothes, should i wear a jacket in case I freeze?  should i wear a bra or do the baggy look?

Apple, I hear you. I'm in sales in front of the public, but I'm lucky I have a desk that I have a floor fan at that I have no problem with being on me at all times I'm sitting. If I'm moving around at least I get a breeze, once I sit down I'm a gonner without my fan! I'm wearing delicate sleeveless tops under a cropped sweater so it's kind of a half-way measure. What "costume" do you have to wear?

LOVE those dishes. Yep, I'm a dish pig. A purse pig. A watch pig. BUT, I'm not a shoe pig.

i have to wear a Catholic musician/woman costume..mostly dark colors so i don't look like a Queen,  long skirts or pants so my legs don't show too much.. i sit with my legs braced apart at the piano or flailing around, pedalling the organ.

i guess sweaters and jackets are thing now.  ,, maybe over a sleeveless turtleneck..  got to get dressed now.

Tina-I believe there is a way to convert minutes/time/steps/intensity of any activity.  Should be a little chart some where where you put in particulars and hit go and it does the work.

Have you tried a bra fitting? I did a few months ago- was a bit nervous but then I realized between ob/gyn., pap smears, child birth, cancer...not much that some one hasn't already seen.  There were WONDERFUL, no charge, tried on a bunch, bras were not expensive. and boy was I wrong on my sizes! No wonder I hated to wear bras before!

    Good Luck!

Apple, maybe it's your "flailing around" is causing your hot flashes. LOL

I think if you're wearing black that a very appropriate coloured scarf would be nice. After all, the priest gets to wear purple at some point during the year.

    What is a Catholic musician/woman?

Kathi, I'm a dish whore, too.  BUT I've been trying to get rid of stuff because it's all a bit too much now.  Cluttering up my life.  BUT I bought a whole, new set of dishes this past summer/fall.  Sigh.  I just love my new dishes.  How long will this relationship last?  (See them at http://www.sophieconran.com/Portmeirion_Porcelain.asp )  Mine are in white.  Bought a number of accessory pieces, too.  Small jug for my warm maple syrup, small salad bowl just big enough for two.........

I hate to admit how many different chinas I have.  Twelve steps, indeed.

Well, I'm off to take a long walk.  Now that it's about 42 degrees and the sun is shining, it feels like Florida here.  Must take advantage!

Apple I wouldn't do the baggy look-- that gets sloppy. I'd go with layered tops- like a fitted turtleneck with a cardigan, or a tank top with a cartigan and a scarf so you can take off or add layers as your body temp changes.

Can't wait to see the GRAMMY fashions tonight...

Treadmill is put together. Tomorrow is day one.

Barbe, got the sandals down and they are cute! Virtually no wear on the soles; maybe worn twice? Little round rhinestone buckle, too. there's a bit of platform on sole and decent height, not stiletto, heels~~you will look sex-AY!! Will try to photograph later...

Beth, are you on your treadmill, multi-tasking reading e-mail at the same time?  I cannot stand treadmills for more than five minutes, not because they are work but because they are boring.  Suggestions for audio book reading while treading?  There used to be Walkman for cassettes, then portable CD players.  Is there anything new for books?  There must be.  Ladies, fill me in.

Also, B, have you read Freakin Fabulous?  We want to know if it's worth the time.  And, I just saw that Isaac Misrahi has a book out, How to Have Style.  Anyone heard any comments of that one?

I do have to say that the How Not to Look Old book made many dubious statements about style and so on.  For instance, she said that we go up a full shoe size from 20 to 40 (or something like that) and I can tell you that I have not.  And, no, I'm not in denial and my feet never hurt.  What the heck is that all about?  Anyway, I am not buying into her.  Some of what she says is valid but lots of that part was already being done, anyway.

Barbe - you are too cute!

The Grammy's!!! I totally forgot about them. I will check out some online photos today.

So Apple, when you say perform in public, you really mean perform?  Playing piano/organ? I was thinking you were going to work and performing tasks at work.  As far as fashion goes,  I say stay away from the baggy as well, unless the baggy it coupled with something fitted. When you ask about a bra - do you have a prosthesis? I am thinking a turtleneck, matching pants and maybe a longish sweater in a vibrant color. Oh, and a cute scarf like the one in your avatar - should it match, probably if you can. Good luck.

Tina - How Not to Look Old contained many a suggestion I found to be incorrect, at least for me. For instance, the section you are TOO OLD to wear this (paraphrasing). She had a couple of items on that list that I have. High ponytail? Some other things as well. Can't remember.

Beth - have fun with that treadmill. Use your ipod, whatever to keep you motivated.

Did another Yoga class yesterday. Oh geez, my abs.

Going to try to hit the store today for a black cardigan (although I hate to spend the $$). They have cute ones at Express for $29.99 (solid colors only on sale).

    Daff, the sandals sound perfect!

I heard on Hollywood Confidential on the radio yesterday, that off the shoulder, strapless and one single colour is THE way to go! That's what I got! And eggplant, too, my favourite colour.

I guess I started out with fat feet.  Wore a wide width as a child, now I'm a medium 7.

I think I need to go shopping.  DH is away for the week and I'm running amuk.  Went to the movies with a friend last night (New in Town - chick flick, okay, don't rush to see it) then went out for Vietnamese food later.  Came home to get the fire going again, had a glass of wine and fell into bed.

Woke up this morning full of it and ran out to my office/studio to put the heat on but forgot to shut off the alarm so you can imagine what fun ensued.  Have a good day, girls.
