Remembering each other's "voice"
Ladies,
For Christmas this past year, my husband took a handful of very old cassette tapes I had salvaged from my Dad's house after he died. I had no idea what was on any of them, as I don't have a cassette player. DH had the cassettes converted to CD's for me so I could listen.
I've been listening to each CD, and loving each moment. Because both my Mom and Dad are now deceased, and I have no video footage to watch them, I now have their voices. To hear their voices has meant the world to me.
I just read the post that we have lost our Annie. This loss, along with losing Deb, has broken my heart.
I have this secret habit of combing through saved PM's and the hundred favorite topics so I can re-read posts from the sisters we have lost. Reading posts by Annie, Deb, Kari, TeresaPW, and all the other sisters we have loved and mourned makes my heart feel warm.
I was wondering if we could create a thread where we might copy and paste old posts or even PM's from the sisters we have lost.
Wouldn't it be great to have another bite of baguette with Annie? Laugh about gluing fingernails back on our hand with AlaskaDeb? Hear the calm wisdom of Kari? It's like remembering the voice all over again!
What do you think? If I am nuts, and am the only one that goes back to read old posts, I totally understand.
Love and prayers, Deb

I have a voice mail at work that my mother in law, also my best friend, left me one day. Every once in a while I shut my door and just listen to her voice. She died 6 years ago today and I miss her!!!!

The funny thing is that it is a really stupid message

I agree that hearing a deceased loved one's voice is profound. Great idea to have a place to post their conversations that meant a lot.

Okay, I am going to start.....this idea sounded so good to me, but it is going to take a long time to read all the old messages and old discussion threads! This one is a little gem from AlaskaDeb-it's from a PM she sent me in response to one I sent her in a major freakout........I think the very end is a gentle reminder of the fabulous Deb we all loved.
My only advice is to say that YOU know your own body. If you think something is wrong, you deserve to have a definitive test to get answers. You may have to play the "little while lie" game. Find out what symptoms would warent a PET scan and then "develop" those symptoms. It is just stupid that your doc is making things hard for you. Is there another doc; your PCP or maybe your rad onc that would order the test for you? My PCP has the philosophy that my mental health is at least as important as my physical health. If I need a test to ease my mind, then he will order it and make sure my insurance will pay.
Good luck and let me know what you find out. I would spout all the usual pap about being sure it is all ok...blah, blah, blah....but I know you need to know for SURE what is going on before you will feel better.
Hugs in the mean time, waiting sucks
