Re re-excision

Hello,

I've just finished 6x fecs. I'm now due to have a re-excision because my margins weren't clear after the lumpectomy (which was before the chemo). I'm worried that after all the chemo they might find cancer cells and then I'll have to have chemo all over again. Does anyone have any experience of this? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Lynnette,

    usually they just reexcise after they've given you all the chemo they planned to do.  I wouldn't think it would be a shock to find some cancer cells---there was a margin issue last time to prompt the reexcision.  The biggest issue should be just trying to get that margin clear. I would think its unlikely it would prompt more chemo if they've done 6 rounds of FEC
