I had stage 1 IDBC, I found 2 lumps back in December 2006, sugery Jan. 2007, then the chemo & radiaiton and then just about this time last year my breast increasing has been getting more & more sore/hurting.  My surgeon ordered Ultra Sound and found nothing and when he tried to do breast exam I almost burst out crying from the pain but he couldn't find any reason why.  So he sent me to a plastic surgeon who informed me that it looked like I most likely have nerve damage in the scar tissue (On the right side of my right breast) when he ran a marker across my breast it felt like little needles.  He said I would need surgery to remove the scar tissue (This was told to me back in November, still waiting for the surgery) however my breast is getting so it hurts more & more each month and I do get pains that shoot to my nipple area and I can not touch my breast because it hurts too much.  I am in menopause but still producing estrogen.  I was taking tamoxifen but quit 1 year ago because it was making me gain weight like crazy.   Has anyone else had the pains in their breast like I have now? (Along with the pain to the nipple area?).  Any information is greatly appreciated.Foot in mouth

So sorry that you are experiencing this pain.  I had a lumpectomy in December '07 followed by radiation from January '08 through March '08.  I too am having breast pain in the affected breast.  Although I am concerned about the pain, it does not sound as though I am having the same level of pain as you are.  If you search this site, there have been quite a few posts from women who are having breast pain post radiation. Good luck - I hope the surgery works for you. However, maybe you should get a second opinion.

Thank you for responding. I went to my plastic surgeon yesterday to talk about the surgery and when I told him it was hurting more since I last seen him made him very concerned, so he had one of the other doctors come in and they both agreed to hold off on the surgery until I was seen by a Neurologist.  Which I did also see the Neurologist yesterday too and now I am going to have Nerve Testing done to see if or how much nerve damage I actually have but the test isn't going to be done until March 2nd, so it is a wait & see I guess.  I just want the pain/discomfort to stop.  Oh well I guess it is best that they are taking precautions before just jumping in.

Thank you again for your information.  I hope you have a great evening.
