YAY Lorraine,
I will surely let you know when I come out west. Sorry about the IV in the wrist thing, but just 2 more days! YIPPEEEEE!!! Now about the reunion, does anyone have any more ideas on where because I am gonna check into the places already mentioned and see what we can do. So feel free to shoot suggestions!
Tracey

Jeanie - Good for you! We will all be thinking of you Wednesday and waiting for your GREAT report. : ) God bless

Thanks Tracey!
New York (love it!), Las Vegas (hate it but its cheap!),

Jeansbeans---You go girl! One more day of TE prison and you are a free woman! There is another thread--Exchange City---that is soliciting how it went stories. Please post your results there to give the rest of us hope. March 11 for me!!!
-
Psalmist - those are some big breasts. Thanks for the laugh. Glad you are finally filled. Do you have your exchange scheduled?
Hang in there ALL - the implants are SOOO much better than the TE's.
-
Jeanie
You are soooooo lucky. Very happy for you. Keep us posted and we'll be thinking about you. I have an unplanned fill for Friday because my not so little expanders have some funny little dimples in them and a fold over one of my ribs. Can't lie flat. PS thinks a few more cc's will lift them off the ribcage.
Psalmist....hysterical link...they are the queen of the ta ta's
Lorraine....I got your message. You sound just as adorable as you look. I really mean it...I have talked lots of caregivers through things they never thought they could do. The nurse gave you the right instructions but if you need moral support...you know how to get ahold of me!!!
Tracey.....New York is great but it is expensive. I like Las Vegas but I have an "in " there....don't know if this is a good thing to admit but I'll do it loud and proud!!!! My best friend is Barry Manilow's guitar player. He plays at the Las Vegas Hilton. Depending on how many of us there are he can usually get me artist tickets and what a hoot we would have...at the copa...copacabana. Anyway...just a suggestion. Hotelsare usually cheap and I've flown SW into MCO alot.
I so love this thread....it is the absolute best!!!!!!
Implantville here we come....yee haw
-
Oh my goodness! Barry Manilow would be fabulous! LOL!!!! Great idea!
-
My exchange is March 3rd. For all of you planning the reunion - have FUN! And if you are going to have Barry Manilow, then make him play Copa Cabana and form a dance line. LOL~ I would need to see that.
-
Jeannie,
OMG!! The Vegas idea is sounding FANTABULOUS!! I get good airline discounts on hotel rooms there. This idea seems to be off to a great start!
-
psalmist!! Your exchange is the same day as mine!! I am sure you are as excited as I am!! Yay!!

March 3 sounds like a fabulous day. I'm so excited for you gals. I'll find out when mine is on the 24th when I get my final fill. Getting an extra one this Friday. Never thought I'd be looking forward to a fill but my expander has a little fold in it that's driving me nuts.
Lorraine....remember....call me if you need IV support. I know you will do fine taking the catheter out. It's flexible plastic and you will feel a million times better...and more mobile once it's out.....think of it as getting your exchange surgery. Instant relief!!! I am so excited to meet you. Our little HB trip is all set. My son is taking the Chapman tour and meeting with the football coach Tuesday the 17th. Any suggestions where we could take him for a nice but not too fancy congrats dinner?? He just wants to surf. He's been monitoring the surf report every day!
xo to all
-
Hi Kathie! Thank you so much for the support! I was at the ID doc this morning, infection looks to be gone yipee!! so tonight is the last infusion and that sucker is coming out! I will call you if I have a meltdown! The nurse said just to put some sterile gauze over it and pull out then keep some pressure on the area then a bandaid or something.....so we shall see if I can manage that! Great news on being all set to visit HB! I am soooo excited to meet you too! For dinner at the beach, to be honest, all the restaurants down there are super over priced and not that great, I LOVE Ruby's Diner which is at the end of the pier, its a lovely walk and the view is spectacular at night with all of the lights, its not expensive and it would be fun, let me know if you want something more upscale but I think you would have fun at Ruby's! Does he monitor the surf at www.ci.huntington-beach.ca.us ? on the right hand side of the page at the bottom it says surf report and it has web cams to watch live from the pier, pretty cool!!

Jeansbeans, good luck, will be thinking of you, my daughter lives in Jamestown NY, I sure miss her and she sure misses California. I had my second fill today and I hope that with one more that I will be done. How long between the last fill and typically getting the permanent implants? I will wait to see a post from you on how it went. Thanks for being a trailblazer for those of us just starting on this journey. Jan1
-
Jeanie...Good luck tomorrow. Let us know how you are and know that we are all pulling for you.
Peace and comfortable healing.....

Vegas.. I just might be able to pull off...LOL...
I have to admit.. I have gone from 20cc at surgery to 5 weeks later...370cc.s I am not taking Pain meds( demerol) as I am out now... I am in HORRIBLE pain tonight... I am off to take a hot bath and put a warm wash cloth on.. ( I had another 50cc's today..) I have not had real pain until now. I had a little ouchy last week ( I get 100cc a week).. and today is the 1st time.. OUCH...
I have taken 10mg of Valium 2 hours ago... 3 advil...1 hr ago.. and just poured my 2nd glass of wine.. NOTHING.. no pain relief. At 5ft tall and low weight.. I should be passed out... NOPE no me... I am the oddest duck in the pond..lol...
Off to take that hot bath.... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I understand your pain here.. and I AM SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Laura - the later fills also caused me pain. If the warm bath does not help. Try ice pack/gel packs but be careful to not leave on too long. With limited feeling- easy to cause frostbite! The ice really helped me.
So sorry you are having pain gals - but it is not forever and so worth it in the end. Gentle Hugs!
-
OH - Vegas would be a blast!!
-
Oh Sbmolee...ice packs.. thank you... Off to get those in the freezer.. TY!!!!!!!!!!
I will try anything, as I am not a very FULL C Cup and finally have pain...I will try it all OUCH!!!
TY!
Ta Ta!

Laura,
I take Motrin 800mg three times a day and use Flexeril for the spasms. I too have a lot of pain......You are doing great......I actually had saline removed from my rt expander because I couldn't handle the pain and haven't had any fills again. I will keep you in my thoughts and pray that your pain will subside. Keep busy that also takes my mind off of things.
-
Hey ta ta Laura
Don't give up honey. Warm baths are great...ice packs or bags of frozen peas work too....whatever you have available. You may have a fold or dimple in your expander. I do..I can feel it and it feels like bare underwire gouging my right ribcage..so believe it or not...Ps will put a little more in to lift it off the Friday ..he's done it before and it's worked wonders. I know taking out help most women but mu expanders are 600cc and they just folded over more when he did it. take all your meds if you need to....no shame in that. I agree with Jackie300...I take 800mg Motrin and alternate it with extra strength tylenol in between. As long as your breakthrough pain does not have acetaminophen (vicodin, percocet, T with codeine just to name a few) in it you should be fine doing that as well.
Stay strong honey...Go buy yourself something pretty that you know will fit after your exchange.....jewelry always does!!!!! lol
-
I was warned against anything frozen or high heat also. Not that we don't know how to be careful, but warned by PS that if you fell asleep, for example, you could have potential tissue damage as sbmolee also warned, simply because of lack of feeling.
I found those gel pack 'soft' type ice packs and bought about 4 of them. Instead of freezing, I kept them in the fridge. They are nice and cold, but not as problematic as frozen.
And same as Sam, as I got more fill - though slowly! - the pain and discomfort was relieved.
Best wishes,
Amy
-
Laura - Oh, I am so sorry that the TE's are so uncomfortable for you. And the narcotics are not even working!! Oh my goodness. I hope you were able to find some relief last night and I hope it is better today. Take it slow and easy today, if that's possible! - Jean

Hey Laura
I use a heating pad on low on my back,,,,not my breasts. It has an automatic shut off and I always have a t shirt between the pad and my skin. I don't know why it make my expanders feel better. Maybe it's because I''m in a more tilted back relaxed position with warm heat on my little back!
Amy...you'll laugh at this one but I put those gel eye packs on my foobs. Kept them in the fridge too. Used my binder to keep them in place and got them at the dollar store...lol. I used to tell my teenager when he went out and I had the eye packs on that he had 4 sets of eyes watching him...hee hee
Kathie
-
OMG Kathie - that is hysterical!! I bet he was totally creeped out!!!
My physical therapist said that because all the muscles are intertwined (for lack of a better word!) and we start depending on other muscles during recovery, that even using the heating pad on your back would feel better all the way around.
I can just see you with those little eye masks on and suddenly being rushed to the hospital.....LOL!!! I worked in the ER and I know all our eyebrows would have been working overtime!!
Amy
(edited to add: I just know that you know as a nurse that people can do things without thinking...Yikes!.....that is why I stated about no frozen packs or high heat...)
-
Oh - and adding: My PS told me about a patient that was using the hot tub before the incisions were completely healed. RAGING infection and significant problems because of it. Sheesh - sounds horrible
-
Ha Ha Amy...I think he used the word "sketchy" lol. He's a good kid so we've had alot of laughs and tears along the way. My whole ordeal ended up being his college essay. It was on a person that changed your life. He could get into Harvard if there was a mother on the selection committee..lol..I was very proud of him and touched beyond belief as I have been a single mom since he was 2.
I was a nurse in the ER before I went to hospice. Oh the things we saw....it was an inner city hospital and jeez.....we knew when folks got their public assistance checks. Unfortunately they all came in with gun shot and knife wounds or drug overdoses. Very sad. That's why I always say to my son....there's always someone out there worse off than you....apprecialte that!!!
-
Thanks so much girls!
I went early this morning to get DEMEROL!!! I got 35 more pills. I LOVE my PS. anyway.. the first dose is in me.. and I feel 25% better... next dose should settle it all down. I am really stupid sometimes. I decided not to get another script for Demerol and I thought I was going so well getting 100cc a week.. I probably did not need it.. WRONG!
Thank the Lord I am as full as I want to be.. and if Ihave rads... PS wanted to do one more 50-100ccs... but I can wait until a few days before I get marked for rads to do that. So, I have about a week with no fills...wahoooooo
Thanks for all advice and friendship....
Ta Ta

Laura
I'm so sorry you are in pain! I hope it smoothes out soon for you.
-
Laura
So glad you are getting your pain under control. So you think you will be having rads?
