Karen you crack me up! I LOVE it!!
Tracey
-
I know that because I struggle with it too - especially with kids - having to always be "brave," you know? I just think we can let it all hang out here. Although as of 11 days ago, I've got nothing that can hang out.
-
kifh... you sweet thing.... I hope you are healing well!
-
Thanks everyone for the welcome and the new job. I haven't been able to work so its good to be back!!!!! All of you seem so wonderful and full of life I love it.
I go tommorrow for my scans please say a prayer for me and hope its the good old Herceptin causing these bone aches, I would truly welcome that. And I can tell you I am going to have a few glasses of wine and sit in the hotels hotub maybe I will even try another sip of GrandMarnier LOL!!! I will be getting my results back on Tuesday so thank-god I don't have to wait a long time. Or I would be a terriable mess!!! In more ways than one!!!
Thanks Everyone for making me feel welcomed!!!!!!!
-
Kifh~ A good sense of is the best way to heal. Hope you heal fast
nobleanna~ I'll be praying 4 u! Then last time i went to Las Vegas with my girlfriends i had this drink that the bartender made me, he said that he would make me a drink that i was gonna love. It was blue and a little sweet i always wondered what it was but after a couple drinks i was wasted! Do you have any idea what it was??? I'm not the type of person who drinks different drinks all the time. I usually stick to the same drink but tomorrow i'm leaving to rocky point tomorrow and would like to try something new.
As for me i have been having upper mid back pain (severe) I feel as if i got kicked in the back. I'm trying not to think about it, I want to have a good time on my little trip. Still these negative thoughts keep creeping up on me. I hope that everyone has positive results with all these scanxiety test. Talk to you gals when i return.
Lots Of Love, Karen

Karen... HAVE A BLAST!
-
Karen: Have a great time in Rocky Point - love that place! Hope you see some dolphins - are the whales off the coast this time of year? I've been there in the spring, summer, and fall, but never in the winter. Eat some camarones and have a Margarita for me.
Sue
-
Estepp~ I am wondering if i should take my girls, I love being around my girls but i feel like i really need some ME time. I feel such guilt, they are excited my friend is taking her little boy but i really feel secure when my daughters are with me. Either way i worry (worry freak) Don't know what to do.
Karen
-
Sue~ I most definetly will, I've never been to rocky Point this time of year but i will let you know. I wanna take a boat cruise that's when you can see the dolphins. They are so beautiful! Wishing all of you positive thoughts.
-
ahhhhhhhhh.... I am like you.. when my kids were young..... I always felt better if they were with me. BUT... if you trust 100% who they are gong to be with while you are gone... then sister.. GO HAVE FUN!
-
Goodmorning, Well ready to go and i'm still taking my kids!
Have a good day! Lots Of Love, Karen

Hi all,
Sorry its taken me awhile to respond back but all tests were NED!!! What a relief. My Onc. is now starting to beieve it may be the Herceptin keeping these aches going. I shall found out soon cause she told me that I do not have to make up the 8 I did not do so I have 7 more to go!! YIPEE I can't wait. I had a great time with my friend I was just sorry it was a little stressful but the few wines and GrandMarnier certinly helped. I hope all is well with everyone! And all that are on Vacation are having some fun!!!!!!
HUGS-Bridget

Hey Tracey,
Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. The ejection fraction is the % of blood that is pumped from your heart with every beat. 60 to 70% is normal. I have an echo every 3 months to make sure the Herceptin isn't damaging my heart. I started out at 70% and I am now down to 51% which was mostly due to chemo and not herceptin. If it goes any lower, they will probably have to stop my Herceptin and give my heart some time to recover. Thanks for inviting me to the BeyondBoobs group. I'll definetly look into it. I'm on Facebook too under Laura Bickett Kippes. Look for me to ask you to be my friend.

Bridget !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wahoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I am sooooo Happy for you!!!
Laura
-
Bridget, I am echoing Laura's Wahoooooo!!!! Oh, you must be SO relieved right now. I've had a mammo tech, an ultrasound tech, and an oncoogy PA all inadvertently scare the crap out of me in the last few weeks, but in the end it was all good. Enjoying a Friday night glass of wine - here's to you, Bridget!
-
Hugs Bridget and Sue for good test/scan reports. WAAAHHH HOOOOO !!!!
My MUGA scan to check ejection has remained the same before any Chemo, during DD A/C, after Taxol and Herceptin and surgery. Next is scheduled for April. If it falls below 50%, they will back off of Herceptin to allow recovery, which does happen once Herceptin is stopped - so I am told.
I asked why MUGA instead of echocardiogram and onco says once you have the one kind, it is easier to compare... and MUGA is more definitive.
Everyone had a good weekend.
-
Cha cha cha
I am in this party boat, Herceptin until June 2009.
-
Hello everyone,
Bridget I'm sooooo happy for you.
Well my trip was great and soothing the weather was so nice. I wish that we could all go there together someday that would sure be a blast!! Monday i have my echo so send me positive vibes my way. I hope that my EF is normal.
OHH and i sure did have some pina coladas for all of you! I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Hi
I will ride on the party bus with u all. I have my ticket and will become an actual member this coming week. My 1st treatment is on Thurs followed by Herceptin for 52 weeks once a week even though I will have chemo every 3 weeks . I may be a little quite at first but that will pass .
Iam 63 married 42 years 2 children 5 grandkids 4 boys & 1 girl dx 12/11/08 left breast mastecomy neg nodes neg ER & PR positive Her2 grade 3 . I live in Mass
-
Well here I am, I've been reading for a while and finally decided to jump on the bus. I finished TCH on 12/5/08 and started H only on 12/26/08. I had my 2nd echo which was still normal so 12 more H to go. My starting EF was 55-60%. The 2nd was missing a page so they didn't have the # but everything said normal. I'll check on the % next time.
-
Grammiemo: Welcome to the bus - sorry you have to get your ticket punched, but the ladies here will entertain and inform you as you ride and have great, big shoulders to cry on when you need that. There are many, many threads on this site with lots of great tips for gong through chemo. Personally, I was surprised how "doable" it was - one fairly crappy week, then two fairly normal ones.
Welcome also plakatakr. Good luck as you embark on the H only phase.
Karen: Wouldn't it be great if we could rent one of those gorgeous, big beach houses in Rocky Point and drive the bus down there? We usually stay out on Los Conchas, rent a place, and let our 3 kids take friends - now my dds' fiancees go. Even in their 20's, it's one family event they still love.
Hi Angie! Good to see you on the bus.
Sue
-
Hi ladies, any chance there's room for one more? I reside on the May 08 chemo board mostly but thought I'ld poke around for a her2 group. I'll be on through July and possibly, if the early studies come back, be able to extend it an additional year. Like most of you gals, I get my muga every 3 months and so far so good.
Roxi

Thank-you, Thank-you to all of you thinking of me during that stressfull time and I really did not realize how stressed I really was until I got home and just have been in complete exhaustion. Its good to see new members joining Not good but you know what I mean for the support. Herceptin can be a kicker at times. And boy do I know about those EF% mine was 78% at start dropped to 58% after A/C then declined further with Herceptin. They stopped Herceptin when it went to 46% for 6 weeks did another muga before restarting and it had rebounded to 51% so it will be intresting to see after 3 months what it is. I go for a muga on Tuesday but unless it comes back bad I won't hear anything but if their is a problem I will hear by end of week.
Mamakaren- Good-luck on your test on Monday sending good vipes to you! And I am so glad you had a nice time. The only thing with get aways is they go way to fast. Thanks for the PinaColada it suuuuuuuure tasted good!!!!
I love the idea of having a reunion sometime I think we would have a blast. Ihave been outwest some but not to Arizona. My daughter rode in the Morgan Grand Nationals in Oklahoma 2 yrs ago right befor my diagnosis. And I loved the country there. But I have heard amazing things about Arizona much better place to retire then Florida. See I am planning on retiring already at the age of 44 just kidding. And if any of you want to come to Maine to see our beautiful state and eat a real Maine Lobster let me know. There is nothing like a good DownEast Lobster bake. I promise I will put one on and have the cold beer on ice!!!!
Hugs-Bridget

Welcome Roxi! We have a very large bus...there's always room for 1 more!
Kick back and order a drink!
-
Grammienco, Roxi and plakatakr~ Glad you found us this thread is great we have any kinda drink for any occasion or for everyday ups and downs. We are all here for one another through THICK N THIN!
Sue~ I like that area also, I usually stay on the other side where Las Palomas and Playa Bonita is. Whenever you are going to Rocky Point let me know so we can meet up and really have a drink on the Party Boat over there. I plan to go in May if not sooner.
As for me i hope that everything goes great with my EF results tomorrow. I have been feeling good except for the other night I woke up gasping for air, I don't know if i was having a panic attack or what. It felt as if my throat was closing and i just was full of panic i just started breathing in my nose and out my mouth. Finally i started to calm down and my heart stopped racing 100 miles per hr. I just wish that this anxiety and panic would all go away so i need to really get my ass on the go and make an appointment with my primary doc.
Haven't heard from Tracy hope she's okay.
-
Thanks ladies for the welcome. I prefer an ice cold beer thank you very much.
-
WOW there are lots of us. Thanks everyone for the kind words. I am healing well. Today I go for my second follow up with the surgeon. If everything is ok, I'll be cleared to return to normal activity.
I've got to tell you, I'm starting to like this flat chest look.
-
I finished herceptin in December....can I still join the party bus?? I do love a cold beer!!
Suze
-
Hi ladies.. new and "old"...lol
I have been off sick with some stupid flu...ekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk...
Just wanted to say hi to everyone new.. WELCOME...
Karen... Glad you had a great time!!
I Love seeing all the new gals here... I am a cold beer on a hot day and a great glass of wine anytime.......:)
Still feeling icky.. so will jump off the party bus tonight.... but will be returning soon.....
Love!
-
Klfh~ I guess i can say the same thing also, I am very small breasted! LOL
Suze~ It's never to late. I'm sure we could learn alot about the life after Herceptin from you.
Estepp~ I hope you feel better soon.
Today i had my appt with cardiologist and they didn't tell me what my EF was but was so happy that i had this young guy doing my echo. He was so sweet and explained everything to me and told me that it looked like my EF was @ 65% or so. You can imagine how stress free i feel. The Doc didn't get to see me so i guess they will call. Other than that i had a good day.
Goodnight, Karen
