Anyone with a high Ki-67?

I am 29 and was just diagnosed with breast cancer 5 days ago. My pathology report came back, and I have a very high Ki-67 (93%).  I know this is unfavorable, but I would love to hear from anyone else who had a high Ki-67 and can let me know how it affected their treatment.  I have not yet met with the oncologist, and have just had contact with the surgeon.   Looking forward to any guidence or experiences!

    Mine was high too, 97 like yours.  I had IDC, 1.7 Cm, 1/9 nodes, ER/PR +, Her2-, Stage 2, Grade 3.  I did chemo, dose dense, A/C, four rounds, then DD Taxol, four rounds.  Didn't do rads due to Lupus.  But now take Arimidex daily.  We hit it hard and with what the onc thought at the time was the best treatment plan.  And we did that because he was worried about the fact that I had one node positive and it was very aggressive.  I had a single mastectomy and as of April will be two years out.  

     When I found out I had breast cancer, there was not a doubt in my mind I wanted to do absolutely everything I could to stop it cold.  Then I would never look back and question my decisions.  My father passed on from lung cancer, and I have a long family history of breast cancer, but no BRCA gene.  So I couldn't see doing anything but hitting it hard and praying for the best.

    I hope things work out well for you.  Everyone has to make their own decisions, and everyone's decision is different.

    Hi I have a high ki 67 I'm 19 month out and doing good.I had a large tumor and node positive,i also was positive for the p53 gene and thats bad.I'm still NED.I did kemo and radiation and now Arimidex........godbless roxy

    My was considered "high" but wasn't as high as what you are talking about.   HOWEVER, my onc told me (as I was freaking out about the high ki 67 and grade 3 status) that tumors with a high ki67 and/or high grade are much more sensitive to chemo drugs than lower grade tumors.  So... there is a silver lining (sort of).

    Mine was high too, and i had chemo first, and chemo killed it all, even in the lymph nodes.  I just finished rads and am doing my year of herceptin Laughing

    Thank you so much for your responses.  I am doing my best to be positive, and there really isn't anyone I can talk about the more concerning aspects of my diagnosis (as if it wasn't all concerning!)since I was just diagnosed and everyone is still reeling from the shock.  Thank you all so much for your positive stories and for giving me a boostSmile

    I dont know how big your tumor is or if you have nodes, but i was grade 3 her pos, so if you need to PM me with anything, please feel free.  Like I said I just finished Rads, and am now on herceptin for a year.  I

    Hi Dcsige,

    I also had a high KI 67, grade 3 , HER2+ tumor.

    I had a mastectomy, 4 AC and a year of herceptin.  I am 1 year, 11 months out from chemo (11 months from end of herceptin) and am NED.

    Like Michele said, high grade HER2+ tumors are very sensitive to chemo.  So hit it as hard as you can to knock out ant cells floating around.
