    I looked at our display, on the dash, and it does NOT show which side the pump is on...  someone I used to work with told me that there is a picture on the dash, showing which side the pump is on, but on our cars, it is not.  The pic. shows the pump on the right but each car was different, and they are BOTH Pontiacs.

    Why can't they just agree to put them all on the same side?  Like they do with the steering wheel?  I've nearly been taken out at gas stations by driving up to a pump when someone with their tank on the Other Side is driving in from the opposite direction!!

    Oh KAK, that is so true and so simple! I mean, they have to sit around and decide this point, right?

    I remember being blown away when mini vans finally got a sliding door on the driver's side. Made so much sense.

    My husband used to travel a lot and rented cars.  We laughed over stories of him filling the tank.   Anyone remember cars with the filler behind the license plate in the middle of the rear end?    Or does that date me...???   

    My car is 10 years old and does not have a gas pump on the dash display.  But it also does not have a CD player, just a tape player...  and YES, it is an automatic !!!

    I don't get it with the pump side either.  Makes much more sense to have it on the drivers side........especially if you pump your own gas.  Sheesh, I think they just do it to screw around with our brains. 

    We got a little car for bombing around, the tank is on the passenger side.  Took me a while to remember.  Have you ever seen someone in a mini car do a 16 point turn to manoever into the right position?

    I think someone decided that you could get closer to the pump if you did not have to open your car door, so the tank was put on the right passenger side.   My memory fails me as to when or how I heard of this.

    Nancy, there are still cars that have the gas pump behind the licencse plate. Larger, luxury cars often do. Makes sense about the door opening.

    Why is it that I get swayed to "agree" with every post even when it is different than the last one I agreed with? Does anyone else notice that- not with me, but with themselves? Do you even know what I mean? It's like I change my mind every time I hear something new.

    And what does IMHO mean?

     Hope a fly-in post is OK.

     Feb. 14th should be easy to remember for me -- 2nd anniversary of my lumpectomy.  (((ironic smilie here)))

    Lefty -- You're a woman after my own heart.  I drive a 15 year old Sentra with a tape deck.  I even have to roll up my windows by hand.

    My gas tank  is on the left, and I like it there.

    Hi all! Thanks for the encouragement and hey I better look cheerful in my photos because otherwise I look very old LOL! It's the only way I have half a hope of looking all right.

    I have had trouble with depression/anxiety my whole life and since my dx have been relieved I feel as good as I do. I think maybe my adrenaline is up to cope with it all. It is a little goofy for me to be doing this well.

    But since facing rads I've definitely been in a down, sad kind of mood, just not as ebullient as I was. My hair coming back is helping. And I started with Wii FIT today and also took a snow hike which helped my mood a great deal.

    Loved your chemo brain stories! I have the same trouble but I don't any amusing tales to tell like you do! I did have a rental car after my little accident and the pump was on the OTHER side from my car.

    I had to drive around and around the pumps because I couldn't seem to figure out where to be. I kept ending up on the other side of the pump but with my car positioned still so the tank with on the wrong side. Finally got it.

    Also having nightmares lately, whereas during chemo don't remember dreaming that much. I can be a very vivid dreamer. Prolly am trying to work some things out.

    P.S.: My 2000 Honda Civic has roll up windows! LOL! It is the DX, the cheapest of that model, and I love it to death, such a great little car. It also needs to be unlocked by a key, etc. It's a stick shift, which I also like. The rental was real fancy and bigger with little messages popping up such as "conditions may be icy today" and the temperature on the dashboard.

    Glad to have my old car back after dealing with the electronic monster.

    My little 2003 Vibe also doesn't have power windows or locks. T'was the only used one I could afford after my head on crash 2 years ago. My husband didn't put collision insurance on my Dad's newer car that I got after he died. That was when I realized my husband wasn't thinking properly with his brain tumours. 

    Unique, do you take blood pressure medications? They give you extremely vivid dreams.

    Well Barbe, that explains my dreams at night.  Had a nightmare the other night and I remember thinking.......open your eyes, wake up, it's gotta be a dream.  I didn't wake up on demand......  I understand beta blockers can do that but I'm not on them.

    Happy ground hog day, a day late.  Looks like "he" was right.  Snow flakes coming down today here.   I am on laundry load # 3, for just one person - does it multiply overnight??   Just because it is washed and dry does not mean folded and  put away !!!   

    Has anyone used one of the hand held steamers, alternative to ironing?   I am thinking of one but do not want a huge tank thing that takes up half the closet.

    Hi you guys!  I didn't think there would be so much talk about which side of the car our gas pumps are on!!  LOL  too funny! 

    I also seem to agree with each new post, and I think it's because other people add new ideas and suddenly, a little light bulb goes on in my head, and I think  "AHA!" 

    Happy Ground HOG day!  Yesterday...  oh, you know...  There is ALWAYS SIX more weeks of winter, no matter what that stupid Ground Hog thinks!!

    Sorry you have so much cold weather!  I couldn't stand it!  But, I guess you are kind of used to it.  :)

    I am supposed to be getting packed, since my dh & I are going on a cruise... we leave on Wednesday, but I haven't packed yet.  Oh My!Surprised   We are going to the Eastern Caribbean/British Virgin Isles, so at least we will be WARM!  :)

    I am getting a volunteer in for four hours a week.  She can help with household chores, scrapbooking, shopping whatever.  So now I have spent 2 days cleaning.  My room and kitchen and living room.  Next the bathroom.  After that I dont care.  The thing is... if I start cleaning something my husband will butt in and take over - so then I start to clean something else and he butts in and takes over. At this rate the place will be spotless by Tuesday..... YEAH>

    I'm still entertaining the lofty notion that my ability to be prosperous and productive will return someday.  I long to be kicked off this thread and never look back.  Well, that seems rather snooty.  I'd want everyone else to get kicked off this thread also.  :) 

    My latest grandiose idea that isn't happening is making valentine cookies with fancy frosting techniques to decorate them.  I've borrowed frosting accessories, and I even bought a new mixer to replace the one that broke last month.  But I've never done the fancy frosting before, and the whole weekend evaporated without one cookie being made.  sigh  And even if I knew how to do frosting, I have no doubt some other lame excuse would stand in its place.  

    Y'know it's not just the fatigue that I battle.  I just don't feel like doing anything.  I feel like I'm hibernating and I can't wake up.

    A "volunteer"???? I tried birthing a couple of those, but that didn't really work for very long, and they live elsewhere. (My DD was a trouper Innocent after surgery, however.) As for DH.......

    Meanwhile my Friday-only housekeeper is out sick (that stuff that's going around everywhere) and I am doing laundry. Now I always do the laundry, but she pulls the sheet off, etc. I am washing DH's blanket and matelasse spread that Misty the Lab sleeps on; forget the sheets!! Embarassed

    It might ruin my manicure in OPI Vanity Fair...........

    The volunteer is not here to do household tasks.  Though we do some together.  She is here to keep me company.  To share my hobbies with.  To give me a companion and someone to look forward to.  I have my best friend but I already take up so much of her time.....

    I birthed two volunteers and although they refuse to volunteer they will keep the tasks that are voluntold (lol).  So daughter now does laundry on Fridays (with my help).

    I married another volunteer and found something to keep his OCD happy.... he handles my medications. 

    Somehow the volunteer makes me feel "special" - I only got her because I am palliative care.  HMMMM but I am still looking forward to meeting her.

    There have been people posting that they are looking for a way to volunteer, now that the new administration is calling for it. Some of us have been volunteering our entire lives......

    Yes it is through Hospice Toronto.  She is from my neighbourhood.  Her daughter went to school with my daughter.  She will help me quilt, organize.... whatever....
