Hi Faith... thanks for thinking of me. I got my new port, but woke up during surgery twice. Scared the doc because I jerk awake..... But it is behind me.... and the next adventure is right around the corner.
-
Life is for sure an adventure, we never know where it will lead us.
-
Spar2...
If you have any problems getting the book - just let me know. I have a closet full of them LOL
-
Morning Beach Chickies....
I am glad the work week is over and I can come and play on the beach for a little bit. I got the most amazing surprise in the mail yesterday from Jasmine.. I have a big smile on my face and am sitting warm and happy under it right now. I have to say it brought tears to my eyes because it is something that will always make me think of the wonderful ladies I know here at the beach.
Coonie - how are you feeling? Still good-I hope.
SoCal - your pictures are amazing.
just doing some catching up here... Sharon where the heck are you GF?
-
Everybody heard it was a great day to join the girls at the beach...
-
C'mon girls I brought some extra buckets...
-
Sharon -- this will loosen up all of those muscles we worked up shoveling snow this week...
-
I'll be waiting for you...
-
I HATE work!!!!!! I am just catching up and I missed the whole pink rose for Deb thing.... Today is the day..... I was so moved by all of the Sisters doing what they do best standing by each other. I can donate to her relay cause (which is what I will do)... I am still bummed I didn't get a rose from Checkum.... bwwwwahhhhhhhhhhhhaaahhhh - such a loser!
-
I think I have chemo eyes today .... or maybe it is just I am overwhelmed by the love of the women on this board
-
Morning all. Just getting caught up on the Alaska Deb updates. I'm awed by the impact she has had.
I'm not feeling too "beachy" this morning, a little sad over it all. Hugs everyone. I'll be back later.
-
Good Morning Check
And all my other sisters.... I'm up early. Woke up around 5:30 , couldn't go back to sleep. The stress from the lay off is overwhelming.
So I just had to come to the beach to relax.....
Hope you all have a great week end.
-
Mary-Lou, layoff? I think I missed something.
-
Yes Sharon, I was laid off and then my husband after 19 years at the same job.
Also my son was laid off.... He has a wife and 2 babies.
There are no jobs to be found because of all the plants that have shut down. It's bad here , very bad.
But then again it's bad everywhere.
-
-
OMG Mary-Lou, I am SO sorry.
-
Thanks for the hug.....
Spar you have a PM
-
Good morning Beachies. Checkum, I'm so glad you like the afgan. I sent it on behalf of the Beach group but I didn't get a chance to tell anyone except Spar so they are probably confused. Enjoy, Beach sister. Mary Lou, I remember you saying you were getting laid off. I have to believe that with this door closed that something better is right around the corner for you. Just trust that God will provide for you during this time. Sharon, I missed the chat. I think you passed your 'falling asleep' thingy to me. Thank goodness I woke up in time for Psych.
Spar, my true southern sister, come out and play with us this beautiful Saturday.

Mary Lou,
I am sooo sorry for the stressful situation you are in. It is getting really bad everywhere - we just had layoffs too and more to come. They also told us that they are considering things like salary cuts - forced vacation, etc. to try to save jobs. I really worry for our country and this economy - I don't think we are at the bottom yet.
I don't know what I can do to help --- but, prayers are very powerful stuff!
-
Checkum -- the same thing is going on down here as well. Scary times and there doesn't seem to be any quick fix.
-
I think staying close to the lord will be a good place to be in the days ahead.
-
Checkum, its the only true place of safety.
-
Hope, did you make the afghan? How sweet of you to sent it to our dear Checkum.
Where I live they have an group that does quilts for gals with cancer. It's called Victoria's Quilts. One was delivered to me when I was undergoing tx. and it's beautiful. Also a friend made one for me called a butterfly quilt. It's beautiful too. And interesting because the butterfly is the sign for lymphedema (I think) and I have that.
Untroubled seas for all........
I bought an island for us.
-
How would everyone feel about making a list of special needs on the thread? I know right now that:
Checkum is having her mastectomy on 2/19
MaryLou has been laid off
Sorry but that's all I can recall right now without going back through the thread so anyone else please list anything you would like for us to send hugs, prayers for.
Sharon, yes I made the afghan. It is like the one I made for Ravencaine and CTG. If anyone would like to help with these please pm me. Its not required. The afghan was a gift from all of us. I have another one that is ready to go out as soon as I have a snail mail address.
-
Hope, you are one of the best!!!
A list is fine with me.......I can't keep track of anything.
Sending you a PM Hope.
-
It's a reflection kind of day..

Sorry to interrupt--mostly a reader, not a poster (obviously ; ). Just wanted to be helpful and add Dreamwriter to the list you're compiling, Jasmine/Always Hope. Sounds like Dream is also going through a tough time. Check out the bottom of the previous page--294. Thanks and God Bless.
