This a a horrible question to asked, but can anyone give me any ideas on what I can do about this dryness?

I have tried replends, I have tried ky nohing seems to work.  Replends made me itch and ky caked up into a glob of sometype.  I know I should go to the gyn and ask for something, but cancer and ps appointments take up so much time.

As I struggle to rekindle my sex life, this dryness issue is really cramping my attempts.

Any help will be appreciated.

This is a good question and an important one!  I had the same problem and nothing over the counter works.  Go to your gyn and ask for a prescription for an Estring.  It's a flexible ring that you insert like a diaphragm and leave in for 3 months.  It releases a tiny amount of estradiol and is safe for breast cancer patients because it does not increase your blood levels of estradiol - it just affects the vaginal tissue.  You don't have to remove it during intercourse.  If you don't like the idea of this, you can also talk to the doc about a topical estradiol cream, but, I love the ease of just inserting it once every three months and forgetting it!

I will do this.  I don't mind inserting something that will make my life happier.  I want to enjoy what I can, and right now it is not easy to have fun.

Your gyn and pharmacist may question it because the info on Estring says it is not for use by Er+ breast cancer patients. Make sure your onc approves it. I'm in a study about the se of arimidex and was given the Estring. The study requires that my blood Estradiol levels be monitored to make sure the amount of estrogen from the Estring doesn't affect my blood levels. So far I have less dryness with no increase in Er blood levels. There is another thread about this subject in the hormonal section.

how long have you been on this?---and does it help with sexual energy at all?  I am just starting to hopefully get into having an intimate relationship---but I am scared to death.  My sex drive is down the tubes & I'm so afraid of a recurrence of breast cancer.

I made an appointment this morning with a gyn.  I will be asking about this treatment as soon as I walk into the office.
