genetic breast cancer diagnosis

I have invasive ductal carcinoma, and have been going through chemo since November 2008.  I took the genetic screening and the results came out positive.  My doctors suggestion is to have a double mastectomy and my ovaries removed, with reconstruction at the same time.  I would like some feedback from some who have experienced this procedures,and any suggestions you may have.  Thanks in advance for your helpful comments.

    Precious, I did the genetic screening and am positive for BRCA2.  I had a bilateral with immediate free tram reconstruction back in March of 2005 and am home on medical leave right now since I had a hysterectomy and oopherectomy two weeks ago.  Mine was done using the DaVinci Robotic Laproscopic method and was extremely successful.....no pain at all.  PM me if you have any questions.
