Add me sisters ... Sue Pearson
manchester Uk .... I would love to get to know all my sisters better xxx
-
Got it, sista...Beth sent me one too. Then I heard from the SIL of my ex-bf...she asked me to be her friend (I feel like I'm in 2nd grade again everytime I say stuff like that!). Facebook is really cool because you get to enjoy relationships with people you thought were gone from your life. And then there's you guys from bc.org...it's nice being on a non-cancer board for a change, huh?

I'm friends with a lot of bco people on facebook, so you can click through my friend list to find someone that you want to add...
I'm addicted to petpupz...rocktober, and NBN.. I lose to your puppies a lot for some reason. But I love it!!!
-
Rock: I am having problems w/ friends/family not been able to even find me!!!! Me... of all people!!! LOL, it must be a setting that I have not figured it out how to master... I want to be able to be seen, BUT, you can only see the rest of me (LOL) if you are my friend... therefore I have to authorize U! Help?!
BethNY: OMG... I lose to U and now Amy and Harley all the time too! The only person right now I have a leg over is Jill... sorry... LOL, probably not for long!
I don't understand... even when Beautiful is healthier than for example your dog... and has more PAWS per minute... I still lose! WTF?!?! LOL So, I bounce between one and the other... and win... try clicking on a stronger doggy than yours... first time U r probably going to lose, but if U try a second time... I think U w/ win... it has happened to me several times... more points to my dog... YEAH! I do think that to win all those badges and feed/treat/play w/ our dogs... they request way high "fees"... darn. See you girls there tonight!
By the way... Amy/Luv... and Stacey/Harley... heck... your dogs are kicking some serious butt! And I was the one reminding U girls to feed them.... LOL

NBN-- if you click on find friends, a box will appear in the middle of the screen asking you permission to search your email database. All you have to do is enter your email password. It's totally safe, and they do not store or use your password for anything other then to pull up all the people that are on facebook. If a person appears and a question mark is next to their name, that means they are not on facebook-- but anyone who's in your email database will appear-- even if you weren't emailing that person directly, and they happened to be on a list of recipients on a certain email (which is how I found a lot of BCO sisters)
Also, the easiest way to find a family member is by entering their name and email address or their name and where they live (which network they are in). Sometimes it's really hard to find people, even though you know they are there.
So if everyone here joined the bco page on facebook, we could all click there, and click through the members of the group, and then click add friend, or send friend request.
Also, when you post pictures, make sure you go into settings, and change the settings so that only your friends can see your pictures-- the default setting is that pictures can be viewed by your network, and friends of friends... so if you want more privacy, change your setting.

OH, and one more very important thing.... don't know if I already mentioned this:
If someone sends you a friend request, and you DO NOT KNOW WHO THEY ARE, and you want to click where it says send message (so you can say, Um, Do I know you?) once you send them a msg, even without accepting their friend request, by sending a msg, you allow them to look at your basic info, and your wall for 30 days....
so if you don't know someone, and you have no mutual friends, play it safe and don't accept the request. Unless of course, they write a msg that says I know you from BCO, or from another site, etc.
-
Rock@#$%!!!!
Okay... got to fly now...
-
hey there NBN beauiful kicks my dogs butt often. Too bad big brother has you blocked but not surprised either.
Amy

I just joined Facebook, and it is really neat! I only have 14 friends, would have 15, but one of the first friends dropped herself out, cause she disappeared from my friend list. HURT my feelings!!
Harley
-
Hey Harley: glad to see U on Facebook... and I was not "that friend" b/c I just accepted your invite. Besides... we also communicate via other "ways"... LOL
Beth... thanks for all input!
Luv... I am going to kick Beans' butt again tonight... if Facebook ever let's me log in... having problems being there tonight... I would say that all BC.Org girls are there... therefore we have crashed the site! LOL
-
hey all,
I joined today. I don't have many friends that I normally have contact with (AIM, MSN, Yahoo, regular e-mail) so we'll see if anyone recognizes me. I heard that BC.org is on facebook - how do you find it?
Hugs,
Trish
-
I'm there too, mrave0@yahoo.com
-
My DH and I have a Facebook page together and we love it. We post our family pictures on there and look up old friends. Much better than myspace.
-
Oh I have it too!! I will have to get to know some of you!!
I will pm you! Thanks!!
-
Pray there are two ways to find the breastcancer.org page. First, if you are friends with any of the BCO girls, click their profile, and click INFO, then scroll down to see their groups, and find BCO, then click on it, and you can join.
OR, in the white search box on the top right of the page type breastcancer.org and it should take you there.
-
Beth... can U get a link posted here for the "new" girls? I am at work and Facebook is blocked.
-
Ok ladies,
I just joined Facebook and already Cari, Jill and Fumi have become my friends.
-
I feel reeeeeeally old...
When you join Facebook, how "hidden" do you try to be? Do you actually use your real name when you join, or did you use some sort of screen name? And, on that very first page (I don't know what it's called--I mean the page that comes up when I google someone's name x facebook), did you put a real picture of yourself, or something else, like a funny avatar pic?
It feels kind of like handing my purse to a stranger and saying, "Here--dig around in there for as long as you like! See what you can find!".
I guess I'm just a chicken. I taught college for 25 years, and part of me doesn't want my former students to find me on Facebook. OTOH, it would be interesting if some of them did, this many years later.
otter
-
Otter,
I do know how you feel. I however, don't have many friends (I'm a homebody and my family other than dh and kiddos live over 250 miles away) so it would be interesting to see what happens.
Hugs,
Trish

Trish and otter... my entire family lives in Portugal... here I only have my daughter and now my husband... so Facebook is a way of my mom keeping track of me if we don't talk during the day (five hours difference) and vice versa....
Most of us uses our real entire names... and we only befriend who we know and who we want to be friends with. It is "our other home, away from BC.Org.".
For years I was hesitant about starting my own page but now... I am glad that a sister here finally convinced me to do so.
-
Otter, you use your real name with facebook, and then you mark your entire profile and all the contents as private, for FRIENDS only... then only people you approve can click past a tiny box with your name and network( city you live in).
I use real pictures, and I know a few people that do not, but when you're trying to connect with people that maybe you went to high school or college with, seeing a picture really helps you remember who they are.
-
I'm on FB, too. I use my own name and picture, and have happily found long lost relatives and college friends that I've enjoyed reconnecting with. I'm also happy to hear from BC.org. members.
I have a friend who is a middle school teacher that uses an alias and an "artistic " profile picture, for obvious reasons. She doesn't want to be hearing from her students.
See you there!
-
How great it was to see FB as a thread! I joined by accident several months ago when I was responding to Bill Moyer's Journal blog. It took me a little time to understand it, but now I'm really enjoying it because many of my family are there now. It's so easy to keep in touch with everyone in one site on the Internet....which is nice when the family lives on both coasts, in the middle of the US, the south of the US and an ocean apart!
Have fun!
-
Trish, you can block people on FB, too ..... people you don't want to find you! Like ex-husbands!
-
I am on facebook and would love to get to know you better. I will pm you my information.
-
LOL...I just saw this thread. I started a group yesterday on Facebook for us to hang out at, if we are so inclined that is.
-
By "us", do you mean all of us? I'm on FB, but I haven't found any bc.org place there.
How funny to have my daughter's skillion friends as my friends!
-
Sige I joined the group, and then accidentally clicked leave group, and now I can't join until you invite me again... lol- I'm a dumbass
-
I've save 44sq ft of rainforest!
-
for all the facebook gals, please check out my profile, and the fundraising blitz I'm attempting to do before April's young adult cancer week kicks off. It's a long shot, but I'm determined.
