Spirulina

Hi,

I have been reading a lot about spirulina & BC (http://www.naturalnews.com/001579.html). Also used in clinical trials (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3139418). Has anyone tried it during chemo as well. Just curious to hear your thoughts...PdlC

Haven't had spir while in chemo (doing hormonal therapy) but I have added to diet as I have made lots of changes and have added more raw, super food etc to support innards

I just bought a juicing recipe book yesterday called The Juicing Bible, 2nd edition. It recommends spirlina in some of the recipes. Here is what it says:

Green Algae

Chlorella, spirulina

Rich in carotenoids and chlorophyll, these microscopic single celled green algae have been shown to be effective in reducing the effects of ratdiation and may be helpful in treating HIV infections. Available in capsule or powder.

Actions: antioxidant, anticancer, boosts immunity, reduces heavy metal toxicity, hypotensive

For juicing: add 2 tsp to juice and blended drinks.

Now my question is, where the heck do you get this stuff? Do we go pick it up along the beach? What if our "beach" is acres of snow? LOL

Costco carries it--at least the ones in Hawaii do.
