Celpease.. hello ! Sorry you had to join us, but you will find this is a great place to be for support.

May I ask you a question? What is Abraxene? And with only 1 node positive and a small tumor, why did they recommend rads to you?

You and I are about the same stats....

    Hi Laura

Abraxene is a chemo drug that is usually used in metastis breast cancer. (which i do not have except for the 1 lymphnode involvement) it is a fairly new medicine from what I understand. I was originally to have Taxol but the doctor did not want me to have the steriods that go with that. I had alot of trouble with the a/c & steriods that went with that so she changed it to the abraxene. She wanted me to have the rads to be aggressive due to my age. How are you doing?  I am terrified still.

OIC... I bet the rads too because of no taxol... I bet that Abraxene is GREAT too though if it is for mets.... That is great.

I go in and out of fear.. I do TOTALLY understand your feelings! I think we all feel this way off and on.. I always said I wish we all lived really close... Those gals up in NY are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lucky they all live really close and could get together every month if they wanted.. I wish it was that way for all of us. It would make it easier to have good friends that HAVE this disease living near by to hang with.

You will do fine.. feel free to PM me if you need to talk...

Hi Sassa, will actually her oncologist just uped this treatment plan.  Unfortunately she is going to have to have weekly infusions of Herceptin for 2 years.  She knows she is in for the long haul here.  I am so glad things are going well for you.  I hope and pray you have a successful result from your treatment plan  :)
