I was originally diagnosed in Oct. 2008 with IDC, I had my first lumpectomy on Nov 18, with a resection on Dec 9 for wider margins, in that surgery another tumor was found and a 3rd resection was done on Dec 30. I had the Oncotype done on the first tumor, which came back 18. I saw the oncologist and made my decision to do rads with tamoxifin. I just got a call that the surgeon has ordered a Oncotype for the second tumor. Now I am wondering if I should delay rads till I get the second score back? Anyone else had 2 Oncotype scores done that came back different?

I got oncotype scores for both of my tumors. I had a lumpectomy in 6/08 when the first tumor was removed. The second tumor was discovered after a pre-radiation MRI, to check for the extent of disease. I wound up having a mastectomy in 9/08.

The two tumors had different scores; the smaller one had a score of 16m; larger one had a score of 8. My oncologist initially recomended chemo after my mastecomy; I requested an oncotype test for the second tumor. After getting the results, my oncologist agreed with me that chemo was not necessary. The second tumor was 99% er +. I sure hope tamoxifen works.

Both my oncotype dx results were the same.  I had IDC -with 2 tumors.  When I went to Memorial Sloan Kettering for a 2nd opinion, the dr recommended a 2nd oncodx on the second tumor.  Both came back 17-both were tubular.   Like Mamhop, I thought this was rather high for tubular.

I got the results of my second Oncotype, it came back 12 for the tubular. So with scores of 12 & 18, I am choosing to do rads followed by tamoxifen. Also thinking about doing the clinical trial for Zometa.
