Any Kaiser Patients Irvine, Ca
I'm getting ready to have a mast with Dr. Mattson-Gates and Dr. Gruber at Kaiser in Irvine. I am trying to find other patients that have had their surgery with them or know someone else. I can't get information (i.e. see pictures, talk to pts) because of the HIPPA laws. It would help to connect with someone that has experience with these doctors. If you have any info please feel free to post or send me a private message.
Thanks!!

Hi Cindy,
I sent you a PM last night.................
-
Dr. Mattson-Gates is my PS! I am very pleased with my care thus far. My general surgeon was Lilian Estrada-Linder. I will PM you as well.
-
Just checking to see if anyone else can help me with more info.
Thanks to 3girls4me and whippetmom for their input. It helped to know about my PS.
Of course, I'm always looking for more info.
Thanks!

Cindy - What is it you still need to know about Kaiser Irvine in particular? My thought was that you should ask the question most heavy on your mind right now. I think that it is more than just about a building or a doctor. Think about whatever it is that you are wrestling with the most and that is the question you want to ask on this forum. You are going to get very few hits with this post. Get out there and post the difficult questions girl!!!

If by chance you are still exploring your reconstruction options, and want a muscle-sparing, free-flap option, Kaiser will send you to a very experienced DIEP micro-surgeon in West LA. They'll even put you up in a nice Sheraton (at their expense) the night before surgery so LA traffic is not an issue. Dr D.J. Lee is your only option for such a procedure in the So Cal region - fortunately, he knows his stuff. He sometimes comes across as a bit difficult, even arrogant - but he has the respect of the entire surgical and nursing staff and that's vital.
If you are interested in my experience you are welcome to PM me.

I am about to meet w/ Dr.Mattson-Gates in a couple of weeks to discuss reconstruction of a PBM. I don't know what type I want to do yet. I met w/ Dr.Iyer in Irvine who said he and Dr.Mattson Gates do DIEP together now, though I fear they aren't experienced in this enough. Does anyone know? Also, has anyone had DIEP w/ Kaiser and w/ who? And how was Dr.Mattson Gates and Dr.Lillian estrada for those who have had them> Thanks.

I had the team of Drs. Estrada-Linder and Mattson-Gates for my BMX - implant-based reconstruction. I feel they are both excellent surgeons. Very happy with my results. I cannot comment on the DIEP issue though.
