I can't get my act together and I don't know why

Omg! I have been stuck...hence Waaaay too much time on the comp!....started reading this thread only to realize it was started 2 yrs ago!....I had to skip ahead GSG and I was SO thrilled to see you DID it! I think you have inspired me! (forgive me for fast forwarding, I skipped the middle of your journey)...I had moved into my new wonderful house almost a year before I was diagnosed. I had PLENTY of things I'd never accomplished(a couple of rooms from hell!) and knocked many of those out in the month following diagnosis and prior to surgery. Hopefully I'll learn thru you guys.....Haven't been thru near what some of you have but definitely have been pretty frozen/STUCK since about new yrs. I did see a counselor a week or so ago, will see her again next week. I think I will plan to follow w/ someone(counselor) also as I've been slipping into a funk...Just HAVE to get moving and STAY that way ! I've had someone cleaning my house for years...It is THE best spent money! When she cleaned this past week I'm not sure I ever felt as much relief when I returned from work!......I immediately called her and gushed at how much it totally changed my outlook....Think I'll go get it back to where she left it! And I WILL control myself and stay OFF this computer...at least until later! thanks girlsin advance for helping me MAKe this a BETTER sunday than the last few!
-
I started to clean a desk out at work and gave up and had them bring me a second desk...they did!
If I'm not supposed to have anything in my house that "doesn't make me smile" then why am I still looking at a stove...DH can do it all on the barbecue!
I find I clean out one "junk" room only to have it moved to another, which regains the title. Oh well.
I started painting my kitchen BLACK two years ago this month. There is only one wall and part of another started. My clients would DIE if they saw it. Never, ever, ever pick a paint colour in January.
-
I'll tell you why we can't get our acts together - we have breast cancer. We've just had our mortality awareness shaken to its very roots! I don't know how you unfreeze except maybe taking baby steps to get back to normal - whatever that is.
-
Maybe we really have OUR acts together and it's just everyone else who is looking through rose coloured glasses?
-
ty Daffodil. Do you know the butterfly legend? American Indian legend: A butterfly does not hum, chirp, tweet or buzz -- no sound. If you see or catch a butterfly, make a wish and it will take it to "the great spirit" and "tell" your wish.
I have 4 butterfly wind chimes on my very small ( 8 foot wide ) concrete slab/patio.

Happy Birthday, Nancy!!
Agent 99 (I like that) I'm very impressed that you were an air traffic controller. What a totally nerve-wracking job. I apologize in advance to any of his fans that might be on this thread, but I will never forgive Ronald Reagan for that whole debacle with the ATC's back in his administration. You guys deserve a medal.
I'm amazed that I haven't managed to do anything really stupid with my patients since this dx. I don't know what I'd do if I were a surgeon! At least I'm only a physical therapist. I seem to go into hyperfocus when I'm actually treating someone, but then I managed to roll 12 inches in my car & dent one of my patients' garage doors a week or so ago. Thought I was already in Park, but was still in Drive with my foot on the brake. I felt like a complete idiot. So, there you are.
kmccraw, you are absolutely & totally right, girlfriend! You, too, barbe.
Today, I'm supposed to be working but have a wicked cold, so I had to call in sick. I've had more goshdarn bad colds since this dx than I've had in the last ten years, the first one during radiation! S'up with that???
Hugs to you all.
-
TY kak. I have read about chemo brain and use that as my excuse, along with craft, crs, and psd. psd is premature senile dementia... I am waiting for someone to come up with BCD, Breast Cancer disorientation.
It is the last week of January - only how many more weeks of winter left??? I have gotten some IRS statements and that will be the next fiasco to plow through. The paper work never ends.
Hugs, Nancy

{{NANCY}} Hope this birthday proves to be as NORMAL a birthday as a B/Csurvivor can ask for

You mentioned time with your sil earlier i think? Does that mean you are NOT celebrating with anyone today? I hope you are, but if not, please remember you are in our thoughts today and everyday, but especially some warm{{hugs}} to keep you warm and give you the feeling that we are there with you enjoying this beautiful sunny day! Wow, almost feels like spring! Till I walked out to wash the patio window outside! Dang! It's only 12 Degrees today! Brrrrrrrrrrr....when is spring? Is it still march 20 or something?
-
Windows!? Isn't that what curtains are for?
Happy birthdat Nancy...birthdays are always good.
-
Normally, yes. But..........I feed about 8 types of birds in the winter and it's hard to get good pictures out dirty windows, so.......thus the windows needing washing...but only the patio and one other facing south where the feeders are
The other 3 directions are NOT being done
-
The spray from the Windex would either freeze before it hit my window or instantly on impact. You guys have NO idea what cold is.....
We have been 30C below zero!
-
Sounds cold, barbe. So what is that in in F? 0? I can never rememeber. Normally I never wash them outside in the winter, but it was so bad I couldn't take clear pics

-
Nancy.... better late than never!

Hope your day was happy!

I just wanted to check in and let everyone know my house is still a wreck. I have a sink full of dishes and a dirty floor. I do have clean clothes, though. :-)
Thinking of you all with Endust on my mind.

Thank you ((((( all ))))) for the birthday wishes. Happy UN Birthday to each of you.
-
I washed two loads of laundry...not folded.
-
Sue, I love the new Label......Agent 99, kinda goes with the fedora don't you think???
Barbe.....canadian sister, enough cold and snow already eh??? Hubby just returned fro sudbury where it was -29C the morning he left. Freezing rain the previous day so the car was a block of ice....literaly. Here I can't pile it any higher, it's already above my head along the driveway, taking your life in your hands backing out!
I don't have chemo-brain but do get S.A.D. this time of year! Bring on the beach and the sun and warm weather! Maybe if I get my act together the winter won't seem as long.
-
I don't know the C thing either and I live here, but I was too old when they changed it so I never learned. I do know for warm weather you double it and add it to 30. So 30 degrees C would be 60+30=90 ! I think 32 F is the same as 0 C....maybe.
Snow is piled here in Barrie to just under the hydro wires which are 20 feet above the ground. They can't go any higher as the plow hits the wires! It's in the mall parking lots that you really see the amount of snow!
Global warming my ass!
-
I asked and pleaded with you gals to keep your snow, but you didn't listen. They say it is coming tomorrow... :-( I do not have to be anywhere until Thursday, so not all that bad. And I do not have to shovel as I am in an apartment.
-
Nancy.........I like to share!!!! LOL.......enjoy! Hope you have a big shovel!
-
Okay, so I see you get off the hook for shoveling, well I can lend you snowshoes if you need them!
-
Nancy, Hope you have a Happy Birthday.
This weather up here just SUCKS!!! We do not need any more snow. We have had snow since the beginning of November. I feel like this winter will never end. Can hardley wait to get on that plane and go south. I need a beach. .....And a drink on the beach.

oh goodness, I had no idea how complicated it was to convert it all! Here's a site that helps I guess ;< http://www.mathsisfun.com/temperature-conversion.html
So as I understand it, our 0 F into C............you take 0 minus 32 to -32 , multiply by 5 (-160) then divide by 9 (-17) Is that right? 0 for F is + -17 C?
Cool~ At the bottom of that page is a little converter
So today when I doing windows it was 12 F here, and -11 C. And it didn't freeze on the windows but it was on the south side in the sun, so maybe that's why
-
I could never understand the difference between degrees ... C or F.
Well, even I had snow last week, on Tuesday, here in NC, so I just want to tell all ya'll to please keep the snow, and stop sharing it with me!!!
-
Well, SHOOT harley! Dd sent pics of the 2 inches they got. The kids picture were precious as they never get it either:) Besides, we are running out of places to put it! At this point, it till memorial day before my piles are gone on the north side drive

-
Hi, girls. Don't know if otter is around here lately, but thought I share this with you all, from the cover of National Wildlife Federation magazine -- guess he just woke up from a nap:

-
Just got home from the doctor & I'm on zithromax & prednisone for this cold which is just starting to get into my chest, but mostly in my head. I need a nap now myself.
-
Rest up Kathi and take care!!!
p
-
Nancy, love that about butterflies! I have some butterfly accessories~~~now I know why.
-
Daffodil,
I love that picture! It makes me think of Spring, and I am so glad that Spring will be here SOON!!

Wish,
Does your dd live in NC?? Where abouts does she live? Do tell! I live near Myrtle Beach! I am only 3 miles from the NC/SC border. My dh laughed, because Tuesday, after the snow, some people had built 'snowmen', but they were only about 12 inches high!!

Also, dh laughed because the schools were CLOSED on Tuesday, and they ran 2 hours late on Wednesday!!

Hugs
Harley
