I have a port and a treatment plan!
Hello, Everyone ~
I had a port put into my left arm on the 22nd, and I start chemo on the 27th. I'm having 4 rounds of Adriamycin/Cytoxan and 4 of Taxol. After that, it's bilateral mastectomy for me.
I dread it like anything, but oh well...there's nothing to do but do it!
Hugs to all,
Artemis

Atremis, I had the A/C also, just remember you're not alone, there is always someone here going through the same exact thing as you and can help you out, cheer you up, whatever you need.....I wish you the best with your treatment and hope and pray all works out well for you!
Hugs

Good luck! Before you know it, it will be over!

Artemis, you are starting chemo the same day that I am having surgery to have my port out! I know it's hard to believe now but they are right, it will be over before you know it. The time went really much more quickly than I expected. I'm even seeing some hair!
If you are in one of the groups, either for the month you start chemo or the type that you are having, you will find tremendous support here.
I'll think of you tomorrow before I drift off. All the best.

Deb, Juniper and Chris ~
Thanks so much for your sweet and encouraging posts. I hope you feel the hugs I am giving all of the ladies in this thread!Chris ~ good luck on having your port out. I'll think of you, too, as my IV gets started up! And yes, I'm in the February group even though I'm technically starting in January.
Hugs to all,
Artemis -
Good luck Artemis, I'm from the Feb 2007 group and the ladies you go through chemo with will literally save your sanity and have your back. Those are friendships that will last forever. You will be amazed how similar the ride is to everyone else's. Since you are starting a little before Febuary, you may have to take the helm and be one of the "first" to come back and report how things are going. In our group her name is Leah and everything she experienced, we also experienced a few days or weeks right behind her. I will never forget the day she came on and described losing her hair. I howled with laughter and cried at the same time. Thinking about the Feb 2008 group as you start this next phase of your journey. Marsha

I hope that the day goes well for you and that you have few side effects.
